Most people put on weight because they eat and drink more calories than they burn through everyday movement and body functions. But in some cases, your weight gain may be due to an underlying health condition. There are nine medical issues that can cause weight gain like PCOD in your case and hypothyroidism

Actually these are the hormonal pills and your body reacted to these external hormones and thatswhy prolonged bleeding till 5th jan. So you will be experiencing disturbed next periods anywhere between 5-10 feb. So just wait for 2-4 dayss.

I went for a routine check up. Gynaecologist on examining said that there is uterus descent of 1 degree. Please suggest remedies or exercises to set right the same. Also is walking good or bad for strengthening the pelvic muscles. I had no symptoms regarding this problem.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Pelvic Floor Exercises, also known as Kegel exercises, are essential to every woman’s exercise routine and they can be done anytime, anywhere, and without anyone noticing. Not only do they increase your control over your bladder, your pelvic floor supports your vagina, uterus and bowel, so keeping your pelvic floor in good working order is beneficial for women of all ages and stages of life. You can identify the muscles located around the bladder opening by starting and stopping your urine stream. If you are able to stop mid stream, you’re using your pelvic floor muscles. Method: Sit, stand or lie down with your legs slightly apart and relax your thighs, buttocks and abdomen muscles. Tighten the ring of muscle around your front and back passages drawing the pelvic floor muscles up inside. Try to complete up to 10 slow squeezes and 10 fast squeezing exercises. Repeat these exercises 4-5 times every day. Yoga: -Cat pose: Start on your hands and knees in a “tabletop” position. Make sure your knees are set directly below your hips and your wrists, elbows and shoulders are in line and perpendicular to the floor. Center your head in a neutral position, eyes looking at the floor. As you exhale, round your spine toward the ceiling, making sure to keep your shoulders and knees in position. Release your head toward the floor, but don’t force your chin to your chest. Inhale, coming back to neutral “tabletop” position on your hands and knees. Contraindications: neck injury or neck related problems.

I had encounter std before, but treated, now I am planning to have baby, does it affect baby health, if yes, what I have to do before making baby.

You and your wife get tests done for all possible sexually transmitted infections. If you are clear, go ahead for pregnancy. If you have any infection positive in your blood, then you have to get treated. Some diseases if you have, you have to postpone the effort for pregnancy. Some diseases even if the blood test is positive, you can go ahead. We will counsel you depending upon the reports.

If disease of body bubbles up, so to speak, into the skin like water from a spring, to treat this disease in (of) the skin by washes and ointments, or other outward applications, is really not treating the disease state at all, but only preventing its peripheral expression. So please people avoid the use of any external applications and cure routly by classical homeopathic mode of treatment.

No. Don't take i-pill. Because if your next periods have started, you won't get pregnant. Be relaxed.

My vagina seems to feel dry these days leading to itching. I am hypothyroid with a dosage of 125 mcg. Are these two conditions inter related?

Yes hypothyroid patients tend to have dryness and itichy skin, you can use a water based lubricant during sexual intercourse. Moreover your diabetic too, so that also leads to dryness in the skin tone.

Do a pregnancy test now and repeat after 1 week. But you have now chances to conceive because your baby must have started top foods besides breast milk. So contraception because of lactation is not 100 percent.

Itchy skin in pregnancy and postpartum is a common complaint. Sometimes itching in pregnancy is caused by “PUPPS Rash” and having PUPPS rash postpartum can happen after the birth of your baby. It can be a huge inconvenience when you are dealing with a newborn and lack of sleep. PUPPS rash postpartum tends to look like hives. Here are the symptoms: Rash consisting of bumps and redness. May spread to arms, thighs, buttocks, and breasts. Itching that can be severe for around a week. Itch clears before the rash. Stretch marks with rash around them. Fatigue due to lack of sleep from itching at night. The following home remedies have been found helpful in taking care of PUPPS rash postpartum at home: Nettle or Dandelion Tea. Drink two cups daily of the organic brand. Flaxseed Oil. Take two tablespoons in a cup of milk. Chickweed Gel. Apply 3 to 4 times daily to the affected area. Pine Tar Soap. Use with each shower with warm water, not hot. Works in 2 to 5 days. Olive Oil. Do not dry off after your shower or bath, but apply olive oil to your wet skin and then pat dry. Coconut Oil. Apply to the rash twice daily. Banana Peel. Rub a banana peel to the rash a few times a day. Baking Soda. Make a baking soda and water paste and apply it to the rash. Corn Starch. Make a paste and apply to rash areas to help relieve itching.

Some women have tenderness before periods and it's due to water retention due to hormones, try giving her minimal salt, lots of water to flush out toxic elements from blood by producing more urine. Exercise more according to constitution. Take more of potassium rich fruits like oranges and lemon juice, amla, fresh vegetables and fruits plus eating according to constitution. If she is overweight, reducing weight will help her besides eating well. No need to take any painkillers. If pain is bearable, get an ultrasound breast done to rule out any underlying nodes.

Ipill needs to be taken aftrr every unprotected sex. So if you havr taken it twice then there is no risk at all. Period shift is normal when you take ipill. In case you have not taken it after second intrrcourse chances depends on the day you did .usually 10-16 days aftrr start of you period is high probbable days for conceiving. So if you hvnt done unprotected sex in these days then again you are safe. Sometimes we feel ejaculation did not happen but there is involuntary discharge n pre cum which also has some sperm. If you miss periods by 7 or more days then check with pregnancy kit. Consult for further education.

Can't Sleep???
Natural home remedies for Insomnia

Insomnia can become a real nightmare as the clock ticks on into the night and you ’re awake to notice. Try these natural approaches to help you get some rest

Before- bed bites

• Have a slice of turkey or chicken , or a banana before heading to bed . These foods contain tryptophan , an amino acid that ’s used to make serotonin . And serotonin is a brain chemical that helps you sleep .
• Carbohydrates help trytophan enter the brain. Try a glass of warm milk (milk contains tryptophan ) and a cookie , or warm milk with a spoonful of honey .
• Avoid big meals late in the evening. You need three to four hours to digest a big meal.
• Spicy or sugary food, even at suppertime , is usually a bad idea. Spices can irritate your stomach , and when it tosses and turns, so will you . Having a lot of sugary food—especially chocolate, which contains caffeine— can make you feel jumpy .

Call on herbs for help

• Valerian helps people fall asleep faster without the “ hangover ” affect of some sleeping pills. It binds to the same receptors in the brain that tranquilizers such as diazepam bind to . Take two capsules of valerian root an hour before bed .
• Take 4 , 000 to 8, 000 milligrams of dried passionflower capsules . Passionflower is widely used as a mild herbal sedative .

Smell your way to sleep

• Lavender has a reputation as a mild tranquilizer . Simply dab a bit of the oil onto your temples and forehead before you hit the pillow . The aroma should help send you off to sleep .
• Put a drop of jasmine essential oil on each wrist just before you go to bed . In studies conducted at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia, researchers discovered that
people who spent the night in jasmine -scented rooms slept more peacefully than people who stayed in unscented—or even lavender-scented— rooms .
• Try a soothing aromatic bath before bedtime. Add 5 drops lavender oil and 3 drops ylang- ylang oil to warm bathwater and enjoy a nice soak .

Be a slave to schedule

• Wake up at the same time each day, no matter how little sleep you got the night before. On weekends, follow the same schedule, so your body adheres to the same pattern all week long . You ’ll fall asleep faster.
• Every morning , go for a walk . It doesn ’t have to be a long walk, but it should definitely be outdoors. The presence of natural light (even if the day is overcast ) tells your groggy body it’ s time to wake up for the day. With your body clock set by the great outdoors, you ’ll sleep better at night .
• Try not to nap during the day, no matter how tired you feel. People who don’ t have insomnia often benefit from a short afternoon nap. However , if you ’ re napping in daytime only to turn into a wide -eyed zombie at night , there’ s a good chance that that afternoon snooze is disrupting your body clock.

Pillow tricks

• Once you get into bed , imagine your feet becoming heavy and numb . Feel them sinking into the mattress . Then do the same with your calves, and slowly work your way up your body, letting it all grow heavy and relaxed . The idea is to let yourself go, in gradual phases .
• If you’ re still awake after this progressive relaxation exercise, count sheep . The point is to occupy your mind with boring repetition , and , not to cast aspersions on sheep , there’ s nothing more boring or repetitive than counting a herd of them . Any repetitive counting activity will lull you .
• If you just can’t sleep , don’ t lie in bed worrying about it. That will only make sleep harder to attain. Get up, leave the bedroom , and grab a book or watch TV .

Prep your bedroom

• Turn your alarm clock so that you can’t see it from bed . If you ’ re glancing at the clock when you wake up— and it’s almost impossible not to —you ’ ll soon start wondering how you can function tomorrow on so little sleep tonight .
• Turn your thermostat down a few degrees before heading to bed . Most people sleep better when their surroundings are cool .
• If you share your bed , consider buying a queen - or king- size mattress so you don ’t keep one another up. Or consider sleeping in separate beds . ( Be sure to emphasize that your wish for separate beds is based on pragmatism rather than preference . )

Check the label

• Be cautious about taking an over - the -counter painkiller before bed . Some of them, like Excedrin , contain caffeine . Read the label first.
• Check labels of decongestants and cold remedies too. In addition to caffeine, they may contain ingredients , such as pseudoephedrine, that rev up your nervous system and leave you unable to fall asleep.

More " don ’ ts" for better dozing

• Avoid exercising within four hours of bedtime— it’s too stimulating. Instead , exercise in the morning or after work . An exception is yoga . A number of yoga postures are designed to calm your body and prepare you for sleep.
• Avoid caffeinated beverages, particularly within four hours of bedtime. Though people have varying ranges of sensitivity to caffeine, the stimulating effects can be long - lasting .
• Also avoid alcohol in the evenings. While a glass of sherry might help you fall asleep a bit faster than usual, the effects soon wear off , and you’ re more likely to wake up during the night .
• If you smoke within four hours of your bedtime, look no further for the cause of your insomnia . Nicotine stimulates the central nervous system, interfering with your ability to fall asleep and stay that way .
