Hello- you have noticed a nice correlation between diet and back pain. >according to ayurveda intake of heavy meals block the passage of vayu (internal metabolite acting as wind) generated due to intestinal peristalsis. Due to this the vayu pressurize the stomach>>it further apply pressure on the back side towards vertebrae causing back pain. >try these tips to get rid of your pain- 1. Take 1 tsp carrom seeds with asfoitida before meals. 2. Decrease the intake of water during meals. 3. Avoid over eating. 4. Take 1 tsp harad powder with warm water at bed time.

Am having back pain heavily. I consulted the doctor and took treatments. But it doesn't work. So what can I do for dat.
Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily .Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. .Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily – lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana ? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am a football player. I got injured while playing as my soft tissues of my knee got destroyed. Its almost 6 months and it hasn't been completed heeled. When it get hurt it just sweets n so much pain is there I can't even walk properly then. Kindly give me some good solutions for it!

I am suffering from both knee joint pain for past 6 years. Doctor prescribed freeflex tablet, jointace tablet, osicards tablet, etc At present for the past 3 months I'm taking cartigen fort twice a day. I feel fain relief much, only when I walk I feel pain. How long should I continue if and what dosage should I follow.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Firstly avoid long sitting, standing tk rest and break between work. Do walk and spine extension exercise. Heat fermentation with rest time for 20 minutes. Tk muscle relaxant medicine and start stretching exercise in daily routine.

Do proper rest & do hot fomentation for 15-20 min thrice in a day. This will help in reducing the pain. Do strengthening exercises & breathing exercises. If still pain continues then consult a physiotherapist.

Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Sir, I am suffering from Ankylosing spondylitis in my both hip joints from 9-10 years. The Doctors are adviced that both hip joints should replace immediately. This treatment cost is so high for me. Please sugest me any low cost treatment to reduce my pain. My age is 39 yrs.

Go for detoxification of body by vaman & virechana first. after that start with snehan/ swedan of the joint. It will definitely improve in 1 month & you will not need to undergo replacement.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Since your history is only 4 days duration: my advice is: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication which suits you ( but avoid drinking when you have taken medication), also you can add a muscle relaxant for 5 days to relieve muscle spasm. - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home ( no exercises, only modalities initially, once your pain subsides, then we can start with gentle back strengthening ex) - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs for local application ( 3-4 times in a day) - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings and traveling on uneven surfaces especially on 2 wheelers take rest for 3-5 days so that pain and muscle spasm decreases. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift can give you some relief. -a do private consultation with a physical therapist who can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them.
