My mother has been hospitalized. She was having dry cough and then we got her checked and she has been detected with tb level 4 (thats what I have been informed). She is in hospital for 12 days we dont see any improvement, she is diabetic as well. I need your suggestion that should I also consult some other doctor and hospital in pune (since I am in pune). Hospital is billing like crazy. I am being asked to pay 111000 for 11 days and there is no improvement in my mother's health. Please suggest.

You should also independently consult a good government hospital doctor or hod. Govt offers free tb treatment. Tb treatment can also be done at home under govt hospital supervision and guidance. Diabetes complicates the problem.

General Physician,
Well, you may have it due to pollen allergy. Do a simple blood test from a reliable laboratory. Blood exam for tc, dc, esr and hb%, fbs. Let me see your eoisinophil count. If it is okay. Consult a senior consultant in general medicine. You need further evaluation.

My nasal will block and difficult in breathing, what should I do ?

MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist,
As you have nasal blockage and allergic rhinitis, most probably you may have enlarged turbinates which are causing nasal blockage. You must go for coblation turbinoplasty. Go for ct scan paranasal sinuses to rule out any other cause of nasal block.

I am Suffering from spine T.B from last 18 months. please advice me regarding the same?

FAMS, MS - Orthopaedics, Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho)
Orthopedist, Indore
The golden regimen for the t b spine is. Akt-3 for 2 months, akt-2 for another 4 months and then a combination of rifampicin andisoniazid like r-cinex for the next 1 year. That is a treatment of 18 months in all. Nowadays a resistant type of t b has become common. In that case the second line of drugs are given. Take care, sleep on a hard bed, use a back support and use a commode. Eat healthy food and seasonal fruits and vegetables and do breathing excercises (pranayaam).

I have sinus pain over last 4 days, what should I do to reduce the pain?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold. they are all easy. -Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. -Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. -Get plenty of rest/sleep.staying at home will keep you from spreading germs.Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Drink plenty of fluids(veg/tomato soups, dal water/coconut water/herbal tea etc), and eat nutritious food(like sprouts/boiled eggs without yolk with milk). Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can impair your sleep -Treatment:A cold usually lasts for a week or two. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn't need medical treatment. -Complications like infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs must be treated with antibiotics. -Gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation. -Tablet nasorest-p once/twice daily may ease breathing. -Do steam inhalation once or twice daily
