How Ayurveda Helps Treat Skin Cancer?

Skin is a very vital organ of your body as it protects your body from external injuries and also helps in regulating your body temperature. The gradual development of cancer cells on your skin region is known as skin cancer. Skin cancer is a very common disease that is affecting people worldwide. Many causes are responsible for skin cancer.

Some of them are stated as follows:

  • Overexposure to sun rays. The Ultraviolet rays can cause serious damage to your skin that can lead to cancer.
  • Sun burns may also result in the development of cancer cells
  • Frequent exposure to toxic chemical substance can also trigger skin cancer.
  • A frail immune system may also contribute to skin cancer.
  • Certain scars on your skin, if left untreated, may become cancerous and eventually lead to skin cancer.
  • Consuming unhealthy foods and being unhygienic may also lead to skin cancers.

Skin cancer may develop all over your body or on any particular region of your skin. It can spread to other parts of your body rapidly. The symptoms of skin cancer depend on the type of your cancer.

Some of the common symptoms of skin cancer are as follows:

  • A sore on your skin that cannot be healed
  • Swelling of your skin
  • You may also get an itching sensation frequently
  • Appearance of bumps
  • Bleeding of the affected areas
  • Appearance of reddish spots
  • A bleeding mole

Skin cancer is absolutely curable if treated at an early stage. Ayurveda offers effective remedies for treating skin cancer.

They are mentioned below:

  1. Panchakarma therapy is the most effective treatment for healing skin cancer. It involves purification and removal of harmful toxins from your body through its 5 constituent therapeutic treatments namely, Vamana, Virechana, Nasya, Basti and Raktamokshana.
  2. Drinking green tea can be very helpful. It is known to have anti cancerous properties which help prevent and combat this killer.
  3. Including more of citrus food in your diet such as lemons, oranges; excluding oily, fried foods and cutting down on higher quantities of sugar can prove to be beneficial.
  4. Applying turmeric paste on the affected areas may help you to guard against skin cancer.

You must not ignore skin cancer and seek advice from a doctor as early as possible since the process of metastasis (spreading of cancer cells to different spots of your body) is very rapid in this case.

Radiotherapy for Lung Cancer

MD - Oncology
Oncologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Radiotherapy for Lung Cancer

Radiotherapy is a kind of treatment that kills the cancer cells by using high energy beams. Specialists use radiotherapy to treat a wide range of lung cancer. For early stage lung cancer, the radiotherapy may get rid of the cancer totally. For the small cell lung cancer you may have radiotherapy only. Then again you may have it with another treatment, for example, chemotherapy or surgery.

For small cell lung cancer, radiotherapy is used with or after chemotherapy. Chemotherapy makes the tumor in the lung shrink. You may have radiotherapy to your cerebrum, which tackles any cancer cells that may have spread to the brain. This is called prophylactic cranial illumination (PCI). In case of advanced lung cancer, the treatment contracts the tumor and controls it for a while. It additionally decreases symptoms like shortness of breath.

The types of radiotherapy used for the lungs include:

Outer radiotherapy: This kind of radiotherapy comes from a machine and is administered to the body through an external source. It depends on the kind of cancer and the progression of the same. You may have three radiotherapy sittings every day for around 12 days. This sort of radiotherapy is known as CHART ceaseless hyperfractionated quickened radiotherapy. A few people with small cell lung cancer may have treatment twice a day. If you are getting radiotherapy to control the side effects of lung cancer, you may have a single treatment or day by day medications for up to 3 weeks.

Inner radiotherapy: This is called brachytherapy or endobronchial treatment. This will be administered during a bronchoscopy. The radiation is given through a thin tube that the specialist puts inside your aviation route for a few of minutes. Specialists use this sort of treatment to shrink a tumor that is blocking or pushing your breathing track and making breathing troublesome for you.

These are some of the procedures that take place while you are having lung cancer radiotherapy:

  1. Radiotherapy machines are enormous. The machines are fixed in one position or are sometimes ready to go around your body to give treatment from various angles.
  2. Prior to your first treatment, your radiographers will clarify what you will hear and see. The treatment room normally have docks for you to connect to music players. So you can listen to your own choice of music.
  3. You cannot feel radiotherapy when you really have the treatment. It takes anything from one second to a few minutes. It is essential to lie similarly situated every time, so the radiographers may take a short time to get you prepared.
  4. Once you are in the right position, the staff will allow you to sit in the space for a couple of minutes. They watch you constantly on a closed circuit TV screen. They may request that you hold your breath or take shallow breaths during the treatment.

Cervical Cancer Awareness

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Noida
Cervical Cancer Awareness
No woman should die of cervical cancer. The most important thing you can do to help prevent cervical cancer is to get screened regularly starting at age 21.

Cervical cancer is highly preventable with regular screening tests and appropriate follow-up care. It also can be cured when found early and treated. Cervical cancer is almost always caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Vaccines are available to protect against the types of HPV that most often cause cervical cancer.
Screening Tests

Two tests can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early—
•The Pap test (or Pap smear) looks for precancers, which are cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately.
•The HPV test looks for the virus that can cause these cell changes.

The Pap test is recommended for women between ages 21 and 65, and can be done in a doctor’s office or clinic. Women should start getting Pap tests regularly at age 21. If your Pap test results are normal, your doctor may say you can wait three years until your next Pap test. If you are 30 years old or older, you may choose to have an HPV test along with the Pap test. Both tests can be performed by your doctor at the same time. If your test results are normal, your chance of getting cervical cancer in the next few years is very low. Your doctor may then say you can wait as long as five years for your next screening.

Why does my child need HPV vaccine?

HPV vaccine is important because it protects against cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.HPV infection can cause cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers in women; penile cancer in men; and anal cancer, cancer of the back of the throat (oropharynx), and genital warts in both men and women.

When should my child be vaccinated?

The HPV vaccine is recommended for preteen boys and girls at age 11 or 12 so they are protected before ever being exposed to the virus. HPV vaccine also produces a more robust immune response during the preteen years. Finally, older teens are less likely to get heath check-ups than preteens. If your teen hasn't gotten the vaccine yet, talk to their doctor or nurse about getting it for them as soon as possible

3 Things Parents Need to Know about Preventing Cancers
The HPV vaccine is given in 3 shots. The second shot is given 1 or 2 months after the first shot. Then a third shot is given 6 months after the first shot.
IN new current concept
Girls between 9-15 years need two doses of Cervical cancer vaccine ( HPV Vaccine) at 6 months apart
After 15 years Three Doses are required at 0 ,6 ,24 months

Symptoms and treatment for Pancreatic Cancer

Hello friends, I’m Dr. Sajjan Rajpurohit. I’m a consultant medical oncologist at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Dethibhag. Today I’ll discuss one cancer which one of the faster growing cancer. It is the cancer of the pancreas.

Pancreatic Cancer is fourth leading cause of cancer in men worldwide. Well the instances are low but the mortality is still very high. It is very important to suspect pancreatic cancer in patients who have pain in the upper part of the abdomen and pain in the upper part of the back and who are experiencing unexpected weight loss, who are having indigestion, who are having difficulty in taking solids, who are having multiple episodes of vomiting and people who have been otherwise active and suddenly they start they start becoming lethargic. So, if somebody experiences such kind of symptoms. It is very important for your doctor to really look deeper into the causes of the symptoms which might be leading to this kind of picture in the patient and many times what happens is ultrasound is done but ultrasound can miss pancreatic cancer because the pancreas is just at the bottom of the abdomen and ultrasounds are not able to visualize clearly the pancreatic mass.

If a patient who has been experiencing these particular symptoms, weight loss and suppression of appetite. It is very important that they after two or three weeks if they are not getting well, they should undergo an ultrasound and if required an endoscopy. And still if nothing is found then it is always productive to make the patient undergo a CT scan of the abdomen. Now pancreatic cancer, unfortunately even today, more than 70 percent patients are by the time it is diagnosed, it is un receptacle or it cannot be operated upon. Nowadays there’s an advancement in the treatment of pancreatic cancer and many more drugs have come up which are able to either reduce the size of the cancer and make it operate able or even in patients who have advanced disease, they are now able to live longer with these medicines.

Having said that, I think there needs to be a general awareness among the physicians as well as people who have these symptoms to be aware of this entity and to be ready if they are having some symptoms that are progressing beyond 2 to 3 weeks. I think this needs to be emphasized again that any upper abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, apatite suppression and a dragging sensation in the upper part of the tummy. Pain starting from the back or pain starting from the abdomen and going through, leading towards the back, these can be symptoms of pancreatic cancer.

So, of somebody experiences these of whom you know of, kindly get them evaluated by a specialist or refer them to a higher to a higher gastrologist or oncologist and do a detailed evaluation of these people so that they can be found at the stage when surgery is possible and the person can be cured of this disease.

So this is what I had for today and if you want to have any further information on the topic of pancreatic cancer, you can connect with me on my facebook page which is Sujjan Rajpurohit ot on my twitter @sujjan80 or you can connect with me on lybrate or if you want to meet me personally you can meet me at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute at Dethibhag, it’s just near aims. Thanks a lot.

My wife has got stone like small kind into the breasts so please give me the solution about this problem.

A tumor is a mass of abnormal tissue. There are two types of breast cancer tumors: those that are non-cancerous, or 'benign' and those that are cancerous, which are 'malignant' Anyone who feels a lump in their breast should visit a doctor to have it examined; this is true for both men and women.
