My digestion is poor and I suffer with GERD. I have taken antacids to fight acidity but that doesn't help to digest food. Enzyme syrups did work. What is the treatment for right side abdominal pain. And pain in back? please help.
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There could be many causes of rt sided abdominal pain and pain in lower back region. Abdominal pain could be due to visceral issue in abdomen for which it is advisable for you to kindly consult a general surgeon and if needed get a usg whole abdomen. For your lower back pain, there are many causes of pain in lower back region. It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Hello lybrate-user. There are multiple causes responsible for diminution/ blurring of vision. Let me enumerate them in brief for you: (1) refractive error. This is one of the commonest reasons responsible. Minus or plus number in one eye or both eyes may be responsible for weak/ blurred vision. The solution for this is glasses/ contact lens/ refractive surgery (if applicable). It should be checked by a trained optometrist/ ophthalmologist and proper glasses should be prescribed. (2) cornea related problem: injury, degeneration, infections or inflammation occurring on the cornea tend to causes loss of transparency and lead to weakening of vision. These should be assessed preferably by a cornea specialist and treated appropriately. (3) cataract in the lens of the eye: this usually occurs with increasing age but in some cases may occur at a younger age. There are multiple systemic factors responsible (eg. Diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, etc) injury to the eye may also cause cataract. This should be assessed and treated appropriately by a cataract specialist. (4) retina/ vitreous problems: these occur due to a variety of reasons such as high minus numbers, diabetes, trauma, etc. These issues are best assessed and treated by a retina specialist. There are good quality surgical options available for the same. (5) optic nerve related problems: these may occur due to raised eye pressure (glaucoma), or occur in association with certain conditions related to the brain and the blood vessels. These are best assessed by a retina/ glaucoma specialist (whichever applicable). (6) neurological problems: certain problems in the brain and the central nervous system tend to cause weakening/ blurring of vision. These are best assessed by an eye specialist in concordance with a neurologist and a neurosurgeon if required. Thus, based on the category you fall under, it would be necessary to take appropriate help and treatment. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

You need to remove the stones from gall bladder that will help in removing pain, for that the diet should be made to half. Avoid taking dinner after taking dinner after 6-7 pm. That will help in avoiding pain also stones should be removed and that will be done with our medicines only. We follow the process in which patient needs to take medicines for 35 days and expel stones on 36th day of the treatment. It can be cured but not only with homeopathic medicines, you need to take medicines that can help in removing them naturally such as our medicines combination of herbal and homeo that will help in removing stones via motion passage. Gall bladder gets diseased due to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. This leads to an imbalance of the acid-alkali balance in the body which causes the cholesterol to precipitate in the gall bladder leading to stone formation. Over time, these may get infected and lead to an acute inflammation, pain, fever etc. A stone may move ahead into a narrow passage or the duct and get stuck leading to severe agony. The safest and way that should be used to remove gall stones is removing it naturally, not just remove gall stones from gall bladder but also remove the cause of gall stones.

What is Laparoscopic surgery?
Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive or keyhole surgery should really be called Minimal Access Surgery. It is a specialized surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through ports introduced into small incisions of 0.5?1.2 cm. In Laparoscopic surgery the surgeon operates by looking at the magnified image displayed on TV monitors. Similar procedures performed in the chest cavity are called thoracoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgeries are popularly performed for gallstones disease, appendicitis, ventral and inguinal hernia and rectal prolapse. Now they are also performed for oesophageal, gastric and colo-rectal cancer and the operations for treating morbid obesity (Bariatric Surgery).
The advantages of minimal access surgery are less postoperative pain and early recovery and return to work. The complication of postoperative wound infection is eliminated. As the incisions are so small unsightly scars are avoided.

Yes,   Pay close attention to your food choice. ·    Eat less carbohydrate food sources like chapatti, rice, noodles, pasta, bread etc as they help in gaining weight and storing fat. ·    While having lunch or dinner eat vegetables and dal to fill your stomach rather eating lots of chapattis or rice. ·     Have a healthy breakfast like poha, idli, upma, plain dosa, oats, dalia or khichdi with vegetables. ·        Eat a balance diet including good quality proteins like: fish, lean chicken and eggs. If you are a vegetarian then include skimmed milk, low fat paneer, butter milk, soy bean or soy milk in your diet. ·        Avoid ghee, butter or vanaspati. Prepare your diet with vegetable oil like sunflower, safflower soybean or olive oil. ·        Eat plenty of salads. ·        Eat fresh fruits including apple, orange, pineapple, papaya, sweet lime, berries, guava, watermelon, mask melon etc. ·        Avoid eating outside junk and fried foods like pizza, pasta, roll, burgers, cakes, chocolates and cookies. ·        Have an early dinner. Prolapsed Bladder And Its Symptoms!

MBBS, DNB ( General Surgery ), DNB - Urology/Genito - Urinary Surgery

Prolapsed Bladder And Its Symptoms!

A bladder is an organ that stores urine in the body. A prolapsed bladder occurs when the tissue present between the vagina and the bladder is stretched, resulting in a bulge in the bladder. This can result in complications such as leakage of urine and difficulty in passing the same. Based on the severity of the damage, it is classified into four categories -

  1. Mild: A small area of the bladder bulges in the vagina
  2. Moderate: The bladder bulges near the vaginal opening
  3. Severe: Protrusion of the bladder occurs through the vaginal opening
  4. Complete: The entire area of the bladder protrudes completely from the body via the opening of the vagina

The symptoms of a prolapsed bladder are:

  1. Feeling of intense pressure around the pelvic area
  2. Infections related to the bladder
  3. Pain during sexual intercourse
  4. Tissues bulging out through the vaginal opening
  5. Pain in the lower back region

Prolapsed bladder is caused by:

  1. Childbirth: It can cause ligaments and pelvic muscles to weaken thus increasing their vulnerability to a prolapsed bladder
  2. The chances of this disorder increases when one is overweight
  3. Lifting heavy things
  4. Strain caused by bowel movements
  5. In some cases, it may result from a chronic cough
  6. Menopause, as it limits production of estrogen which helps in maintaining healthy tissues in the vagina

It is advised to check with a medical professional if you experience these symptoms, as a prolapsed bladder can worsen with time if left untreated.
