Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. Clinical depression or depressive disorder is a neurochemical disorder. Clinical depression is usually treated with a combination of psychiatric medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes, meditation and exercise. I hope you are undergoing psychiatric treatment, otherwise, please approach a psychiatrist. Once you make the necessary amendments in your life with the help of the above said therapies and life style changes, learn how to manage the depressive episodes without medicines and learn to relax, the medicines can be weaned off over a period of one year. The best option for you is to undergo counseling and depression related therapy. Take care.

No such medicines and you have to stop smoking and do breathing exercise .Best age to stop smoking is before 40 ,In fact do not start all Only by using strong will power and avoiding all situations where you feel like smoking, chewing tobacco or drinking or using drugs/ weed, avoiding friends who smoke and diverting mind by reading or chewing a gum, like NICORETTE and taking a walk when you crave for a smoke can all help. You can chew Nicorette gum which is nicotine replacement. There are medicines available. Which can be prescribed if asked personally Cigarette smoking is a leading preventable cause of mortality. It kills more than 60 lakh people worldwide every year. More than 50% of regular smokers would invariably die from tobacco-related illnesses which includes heart attack, cancer or asthmatic lung diseases. Best age to stop smoking is before 40 31st May is “World No Tobacco Day” Quitting smoking before the age of 40 is associated with larger decline in premature death than stopping it at a later date. Best age therefore to stop smoking is before 40. However, stopping smoking even after the age of 50 is still associated with lower risk of death as compared to those who continue to smoke. Even in smokers aged 80 years or more, quitting smoking appears to reduce some mortality.

Hello, Practicing yoga with homoeopathic medication helps you in releasing the stress from your body. Brisk walk in a park will help you inhale more fresh air and oxygen for good functioning of the cells and tissues of the body. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines (which doesn't have any side-effects and thus safe to tak) - Schwabe’s Bacopa Monierri 1x/ thrice daily and Kali Phos. 6x/ once at night. Yogasana: Practice the following poses if you don’t have any medical condition or pregnancy or else take an advice from your concern doctor and then only perform these. 1. Balasana: Sit on your heels with your big toes touching and hands resting on your thighs. Lower your belly and chest to rest between your knees, bringing your forehead to the floor. Relax your arms back beside your shins, palms facing up. Soften your breath by taking 5 to 10 long, deep inhalations and exhalations. 2. Savasana: lie back, letting your body sink into and open around the support. End in a supported pose on your back with a folded blanket under the length of the spine to help arch the upper and middle back, and lengthen the lower back. Move your arms a comfortable distance away from your body and anything else around you. Turn your palms to face up. Separate your legs a natural distance apart. Relax your feet and let them roll open. Finally, do a mental scan from head to toe: Where are you holding tension. Release it from every part of your body—including your heart and head. 3. Bhujanasana: Slowly slide forward from Child's Pose to lie facedown. Press your toes and forehead gently into the floor. Rest your palms lightly on the floor on either side of your chest with fingertips pointing forward and elbows bent and hugging in toward your ribcage. Inhale and lift your chest from the heart, pressing only very lightly into your palms and mostly using your back strength to hold your shoulders and chest up. Soften your shoulders. Then lift your hands off the floor completely, broadening across your collarbones and reaching your heart up. Take a couple of deep, slow breaths here. Then as you exhale, place your palms back down and gently lower your chest to floor.

How To Recognize Signs Of Depression In Men?

How To Recognize Signs Of Depression In Men?

Note if they're in any physical pain. Unlike women, men tend to show more physical symptoms regarding depression. Although there are some similarities between the genders, men tend to experience more unique signs. The need to hold in emotions can actually create physical pain. Some of the main physical signs include:

These are just some of the physical symptoms that men experience while suffering from depression. What's more, these physical symptoms can easily be associated with other issues, making it hard to recognize that depression is even at play.

Notice a change in their weight. Women tend to gain weight when they're depressed, while men are more likely to lose weight. However, some men do wind up gaining weight due to overeating. Either way, look for a change in their weight. It will likely be due to a change in appetite over a change in physical activity.

  • Someone who typically eats ravenously may no longer feel like clearing their plate. A man who often would not eat large meals may start eating all day, often on junk food.[2] Ultimately, how the weight change manifests is determined by the individual.

Notice if he takes part in risky behaviors. If you think a man in your life is depressed, pay attention to his impulsivity and reckless behavior. Has he been taking more physical risks? Has his driving become increasingly more aggressive? These risky behaviors may be a sign of depression.

  • Remember, if this man is an aggressive driver, that does not automatically mean that he's depressed. Men who are suffering from depression will show multiple signs. These types of behaviors are common signs and are generally paired with emotional and physical symptoms as well.

For depression and anxiety which salt is better desvenlafaxine or escitalopram please suggest me.
Hello lybrate-user, Both the salts have their pros and cons and it all depends on the patient's overall symptomatology when it comes of choosing one. None of them is outrightly superior over the other. Please be warned that you must not take tale any of these without consulting a psychiatrist. Sometimes a wrong choice of drug or a wrong dose can lead to serious health problems and worsening of anxiety.

Dear madam, As you rightly identified, the key to resolution of grief is ventilation, that is share your burden with somebody trusted such as a friend, relative, doctor or therapist. the other thing to remember is rather than reducing your interaction with others, you need to increase it and meet people. Give more time for your hobbies. Do not neglect food and water. Take eight hours of sleep but then get out of the bed and dont keep lying down. DO this for a few days and you will feel better. If problems persist, the option of medicines is always available.
