As far as I can understand your doctor maybe on the right track. You may have some pathology in the nostrils that maybe blocking your perception of smell. Smell is important for 70% flavors of food we eat as well. Please consult an ENT specialist, who will be able to examine you nd offer you treatment. Kindly note that anything like Yoga etc as suggested is an irresponsible ajdvice as you could be suffering from something sinister and need medical guidance. Please be aware.

I am 19 years old. I suffer from severe sneeze n irritation in my face. I take medicines for it regularly in d name of sinusitis. How can I get it completely cured?

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
1. Do steam inhalation with karvol plus inhalant capsule 2-3 times daily 2. Put otrivin nasal drop one drop three times daily 3. Take one tablet oflevo cetrizine at bed time 4. If you have recurrent attack of sneezing, you may be having sinusitis or allergic rhinitis 5. Take x ray/ct scan of pns to confirm sinusitis and consult ent specialist for advice and treatment 6. If sinusitis is excluded, then it is due to allergic rhinitis, do an allergy test after consulting allergy specialist/immunologist to find out the cause of allergy and follow the treatment and advice accordingly.

Carefully selected constitutional homeopathic medicine can cure this issues. It is called allergic rhinitis. You might be allergic to dust or pollen or anything else. There can be variety of the allergens can cause this. Carry out allergy test is not fruitful in the given condition. Better opt for constitutional homeopathic to get rid of this as this will provide the solutions.

Acute Sinusitis - Interesting Ways It Can Be Managed!

Acute sinusitis is a type of infection of the sinus. It involves an infection or inflammation of your sinus membranes. The most common symptom of sinusitis is that you have trouble draining mucus from your nose. The sinus is the cavity around the nasal passage and it may swell up when this condition occurs. Usually, the symptoms are temporary.

However, sometimes, especially if you suffer from chronic sinusitis, medical intervention is required.

  1. Saline Nasal Spray: This is a spray you put into your nose several times a day to clean your nasal passages.
  2. Nasal Corticosteroids: There are many types of nasal corticosteroids. They include fluticasone, budesonide, mometasone, beclomethsone. These nasal sprays not only help to treat inflammation, they help prevent to prevent inflammation as well.
  3. Paracetamol: This is a type of OTC pain relievers and they help relieve the pain of acute sinusitis. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are two other OTC pain relievers which can be used instead of Paracetamol.
  4. Antibiotics: Antibiotics are usually not required and should never be taken without the doctor's prescription. However, sometimes the doctor may recommend it if he thinks there is a bacterial infection or if the symptoms progress rapidly.
  5. Immunotherapy: Immunotherapy is given when allergies are the reason you are having acute sinusitis. It is rarely needed, however.
  6. Surgery: For sinusitis symptoms which are chronic or occur frequently, nasal surgery may be the best option for permanent relief. A number of different surgical procedures can be used to treat acute sinusitis such as balloon sinuplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery etc.

Dizziness or giddiness is usually due to ear labyrinthine problem. Anti vertigo tabs and vitamin b 12 can help you. You require to go for ear examination. Pure tone and impedence audiometry, may require ct scan and stepping test (cranio corpography) to come to proper diagnosis.
