Hii. Need more information like from when do you have this. It can be of various reasons. Uneven growth, cartilage defect etc. An orthopedician can tell the exact cause. However you can also go with certain hip and knee strengthening exercises to prevent further problems. You can contact a physiotherapist for exercises.

I had very slight knee pain and my knee used to lock when fully bent. I consulted and orthopedic and he suggested MRI scan of right knee. In the MRI, it was detected that there is minimal effusion in right knee and there is degenerative signal (grade 2) in posterior limb of medial meniscus. The doctor suggested to go for surgery if it aches more or worsen which I do not want to. Is there any alternative to surgery and if surgery is at all required in my case.

There are only two options left for you 1. Start doing knee strengthening exercises which can offload the meniscus a little bit and help it to heal by itself. 2. Go for surgery and then again do knee exercises, as only surgery won't help.

Dear Doctor, Since last one week frequently my right hand and small and ring fingers are also getting numbed slightly but not completely and I am feeling that for long time. One more thing is this happens to me after the very next day of night shift I usually attend at office (but I sleep at least 4 hrs though). And 'm really getting afraid so much. Probably is caused by compression of the c8 nerve in your neck. Usually this is caused by mild arthritis of the neck. Make sure you are not placing your body in a odd position in work e.g. Sleeping in a chair and make sure you are following proper ergonomic precautions. If your symptoms don't resolve then see a neurologist in person.

Use ergonomic designed work atmosphere too with postural correction and exercises. Stretching and strengthning exercise will show better result.

Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hi, I broken my left leg ankle distal fibula non-displaced fracture on Dec 29 2016 and my Ortho doc suggested to have casting boot and took off after 4 weeks now m walking with fit bandage for another 2 weeks but my ankle pain went off and foot hurts a lot than my fracture ankle while walking. I couldn't hold my weight due to foot. Orthopaedic doc told to come after 2 weeks to remove this for bandage and will take an x-ray and then I can do my routine work. But I can walk for only 10 min after tat feel to take rest and leg elevated. Pls suggest what to do. M really feeling lik hell while walking without boots. Foot really hurts a lot.

The fracture wouldn't have healed properly that's the reason for you to have pain while you started walking. Generally lower limb takes more time to heal as the entire body weight is taken by the foot. It is important to wear MCR chappals as it distributes the weight evenly and it makes the foot to feel less pressure. You can take good Iron supplement, calcium and vitamin D which will help you to have quick recovery and also it helps for quick healing and recovery. You can do hot water fermentation will help to reduce the inflammation and it helps to have better range of motion. If you practice this way it will not hurt your foot any more.

Leg pain in your case (considering your mother's age) could be a 1. Reffered pain from spine. 2 knee osteoarthritis 3. Decreased blood supply for accurate diagnosis and management consult a pain specialist for further tests and treatment. Meanwhile follow these tips to get some relief. 1. Avoid prolonged standing or sitting. Change posture in between. 2. Apply cold pack over painful area for 10 mins 4 times a day. 3. Back stretching exercises daily. 4. Quadriceps stretching exercises and strengthening exercises. 5. Calcium and vitamin d supplement. 6. Avoid sitting cross-legged or squatting. 7. Adequate liquid intake of at least 2 litre per day. For definite diagnosis and treatment further details of her pain character and tests are needed.

Which tendon is torn? usually arthroscopy is required to repair torn tendon. Medicine isn't helpful.

Low back pain has to be assessed for its cause with x rays and mri if needed and the exact cause needs to be identified before coming to treatment. Pain killlers will only make you not aware of pain and will not cure it. So resort to proper treatment with physiotherapy. Proper homoeopathic treatment can cure this condition.

Avoid long sitting and tk break between work and use soft pillow for back support. The heat fermentation and stretching exercise of spine. If it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment.

Hi. Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it.
