I am 54 year old, I was washing clothes, I felt severe pain in both of my legs upto knee level. This pain remained about two hours, when I took bath with warm water, it gave me some relief, when I slept, slowly pain reduced. I want to know whether it is a sign of some serious disease?

Its not serious. Sometimes this happens due to pulled nerves. Do not bend forward. Avoid lifting weight. Avoid those activities which cause pain. If this happens again, then consult again.

Hi L4 L5 disc bulge to treat this problem. You can use mckenzie technique exercises for lower back pain. And also sleeping position is most important. How to keep the pillow properly on which side. Nagamaji, Diabetes mellitus is a disease occurring due to deficiency of insulin or resistance to the action of insulin or both. If a person has been diagnosed to have diabetes, then treatment is a must. Only diet control and exercise are not going to be helpful. In fact drug plus diet and exercise are necessary. A person with diabetes should avoid sweets, direct sugar and jaggery, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Also avoid red meat and egg yolk. Should consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads, permitted fruits (100 g a day). Always use whole grain flour avoid refined foods. Caloric intake should be based on Ideal Body Weight, sugar levels and extent of daily physical exercise. For preventing back ache there are specific exercises for back muscles including some stretching routines or asanas, which should be practiced. Knee pain if it is due to osteoarthritis better to consult an orthopedician.

Foot exercises. Do the following exercises barefoot: •1. First write digits 1 to 10 using your toes raised up in the air. •2. Sit on a chair, raise your toes and curl them •3. Pick up a small piece of cloth off the floor using your toes. •4. Still in a sitting position, point your toes and circle your ankles in a slow counter and clockwise motion. •5. Stand up from the sitting position and go on tip toe for 5 seconds.

I am a male of 62 yrs. No diabetes or bp. I developed shaking of hands from 22 and year especially when holding tumbler at top rim with hot liquid or serving with kettle or a big spoon. No shaking when keeping quiet. This I feel has increased over decades by say 10%. Will it lead to paralysis as days goes by? what preventive medicine should I take doctor?

1. Lie on your back. ... 2. Cross your left leg over your right so that your left ankle rests on your right knee. 3. Use your hands to grab hold of your left knee and pull it gently toward the opposite shoulder. ... 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. 5. Relax, and then repeat with the other leg. 6. Repeat this cycle 2 to 4 times.

Seems you r suffering with post chickengunia symptoms. Take surplous amount of fluid. As d fever pass of take hot & cold fomentation alternatively. And do some. General active exercises for multiple joint. Better to visit near by physio for maximum relief.

I am facing a terrible pain in my left forearm from 2012 onwards, some times the pain is terrible that I can't bear it. It's like I need to cut open and see. That much of pain. This pain frequently occurs. Some times it last for about 1 day, some times a week, some times even a month. I had taken the MRI Scan too, but all negative the report says. Please tell me what solution is there for this pain.

Hello, Thanks for your query. I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. I can understand the severity of your pain. Was MRI done of cervical spine ? And can you send me the films? What about Neck pain ? We also need to r/o any vascular cause for it. You can try anti-inflammatory medications for some time and then let me know. Focus on your breathing. 2.Place your thumbs in your ears, your index fingers above your eyebrows, and your remaining along the sides of your nose. Keep each pinky finger near a nostril. 3.Breath in deeply through the nose. First, feel the diaphragm move down, allowing the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out; then feel your chest expand with your collar bones rising last. .4.Use your pinkies to partially close each nostril. Keep your lungs filled. .5.Breathe out through the nose while humming. If you have pain associated with stiffness, I will advise you to get some investigations done: cbc, esr, crp, thyroid profile, serum vitamin b 12, serum vitamin d and serum electrolytes. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
