Hello lybrate-user. It seems you are having severe gastritis. I would suggest you to follow the following points for a few days. 1. Don't eat oily and spicy food. 2. Avoid having drinks with caffeine. 3. Don't eat atleast two hours prior going to sleep. 4. Make time for an active exercise like walking or swimming for atleast 40 mins every day. 5. Take an antacid for a few days to control stomach acids. Follow these for a few weeks and tell me if you see any improvement. I hope I was able to help you. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact.

Mr. Lybrate-user, you can eat garlic daily, amount could be your liking. But most importantly blood sugar should be in excellent comntrol, with fasting around 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg, hba1c% <7. Thanks for the question.

I am 35 years old female, my blood test report says that AFP-serum level is 151. 7 ng/ml What does this mean?

I am 35 years old female, my blood test report says that AFP-serum level is 151. 7 ng/ml
What does this mean?
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) levels may be elevated in association with a variety of malignancies or benign diseases. Failure of the AFP value to return to normal by approximately 1 month after surgery suggests the presence of residual tumor. Elevation of AFP after remission suggests tumor recurrence; however, tumors originally producing AFP may recur without an increase in AFP.

I am 52 year old male. Having diabetes since 3 years. My fasting sugar is 144 mg/dl and PP is 350 mg/dl. Please suggest a medicine to reduce my sugar. My name pravin rao from mumbai.

I am 52 year old male. Having diabetes since 3 years. My fasting sugar is 144 mg/dl and PP is 350 mg/dl. Please sugge...
Mr. Lybrate-user, the glucose levels mentioned show that it is totally uncontrolled diabetes. Hba1c% has not been mentioned. It is essential to have fasting blood sugar closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg/100 ml & hba1c% <7. Otherwise you are inviting serious long term complications of diabetes like retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, foot ulcers, non healing foot ulcers and amputation as well as silent heart attacks. So my suggestion is to start immediate treatment with appropriate medications, plus regular exercise and diet control.

I have been suffering from tonsillitis since 15 days. Accordingly, taken 5 days antibiotic and also homoeopathy. But it is still now. What I can do for it?

MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Aurangabad
Five days antibiotic course is inadequate to clear the infection. Minimum seven days treatment is required with proper dosage. If not responding to this culture sensitivity tests may be required.
