Your loss is understandable. But your mourning and sadness about your loss is taking too long for you to recover. Feeling sad, depressed and hopeless about life are signs of depression. Without any further delay I would suggest you to reach out and consult a psychiatrist with a family member with all your details so that an appropriate management can be started. Depression like any other illness is treatable and once you are out of it you will be fine. Follow few suggestions. Never stay alone always speak out if you have feelings of self harm or suicide and ask someone for help. Talk to friends and family and people who care about you.

Immune System - How You Can Boost It?

MD, MBBS
General Physician, Bangalore
Immune System - How You Can Boost It?

The immune system of the body essentially plays two important roles. Firstly, it protects the body from bacteria, viruses and other foreign organisms, thus preventing the onset of infections and diseases. Secondly, it ensures that body cells are functioning properly and are not degenerating. Thus, the immune system of the body is quite effective and is responsible for your overall health.

There are times when the immune system becomes weak and is thus unable to fight foreign organisms invading the body. A direct indication that your immune system is weak is when you catch the seasonal cold or flu. In such a case, you have to take certain steps to give a boost to your immune system, such as-

  1. Live healthy- Living healthy does not only include eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Make sure that you get enough sleep on a daily basis and avoid smoking along with consumption of alcohol. It is also essential that you maintain your weight and keep a tab on your blood pressure.

  2. Maintain good hygiene- Hygienic habits such as washing hands before every meal and after using the toilet go a long way when it comes to boosting the immune system.

  3. Reduce sugar intake- As per research, it becomes more difficult for white blood cells to fight bacteria when the sugar level of the body is very high, which is why the immune system gets surpassed, and you are more susceptible to infections.

  4. Consume healthy fats- Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids play an important role in boosting the immune system. These healthy fats help the immune system to make prostaglandins, which effectively destroy germs and viruses that have invaded the body.

  5. Avoid the consumption of toxic food- As far as possible, make sure that you are consuming organic food. This is because food grown on a commercial scale is full of toxic chemicals from the pesticides, insecticides, preservatives and artificial colours added to it. The toxic chemicals have a grave impact on the immune system of the body, which can lead to severe complications in the long run.

Although, you want your immune system to be strong and effective, make sure that it is not highly overactive. A highly overactive immune system can also lead to many health complications, such as the onset of autoimmune conditions. All in all, make sure that you are leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Asthma - Types And Homeopathic Medicines!

Asthma is a condition characterized by wheezing and difficulty in breathing. Asthma is a common disease that affects children, teenagers and adults alike. Depending on what triggers an asthmatic attack, asthma can be categorized as four types. These are:

  1. Allergic asthma: This sort of asthma usually begins in childhood and is caused by the overproduction of immunoglobulins as a reaction to the allergen. This type of asthma can also be passed on from one generation to another through genes.
  2. Infective asthma: This is caused by viral bronchial or upper respiratory tract infections. It is not hereditary.
  3. Emotional asthma: Some cases of asthma can be triggered by psychological factors such as stress, grief or anxiety. However, it is not clear if this is the sole trigger for asthma.
  4. Occupational asthma: Exposure to metallic dusts, biological detergents, polyurethane, etc. can also trigger asthmatic attacks. This type of asthma is called occupational asthma.

A homeopath will not only determine the type of asthma, but will also delve into a detailed medical history of the patient before prescribing medication. Some forms of homeopathic medication that can be used to treat asthma are:

  1. Lpecac: This is used to treat asthma in cases where the difficulty breathing is accompanied by a feeling of heaviness over the chest, dyspnoea, constant coughing with no expectoration and cold perspiration. It is often aggravated by motion.
  2. Arsenicum: Asthmatic attacks that begin in the middle of the night and are accompanied by restlessness and anguish can be treated with arsenicum. This is especially beneficial in cases of chronic asthma in elderly people and habitual dyspnoea.
  3. Nux vomica: This is used mainly to treat asthmatic attacks triggered by gastric troubles or be excessive intake of coffee and alcohol. A constricted feeling around the lower part of the chest is another symptom of this type of asthma.
  4. Kali bichromicum: Asthmatic attacks that wake a patient up in the wee hours of the morning compelling him to sit up, in order to be able to breathe can be treated with Kali bichromicum. A stringy yellow mucus expectoration is another symptom of this type of asthma. It can also be used as an effective form of treatment for asthmatic attacks caused by nervousness.
  5. Natrum sulphuricum: This is used to treat asthmatic attacks caused by a change in weather. In such cases, the asthmatic attack is accompanied by diarrhea and greenish expectoration. It is usually worst in the early mornings. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

I had my family planning operation 10 years ago. I want to revert it now. Is that possible?

I had my family planning operation 10 years ago. I want to revert it now. Is that possible?
Thank you for your question. I am assuming you mean you had a vasectomy. A vasectomy can be reversed and in good hands the success rate is over 95%. You will need to find a good andrologist / urologist / general surgeon who specialises in reproductive surgical work. If you visit your local fertility clinic you can get more information about surgeons who do this work regularly. The reason is that a surgeon who does many such operations will have a much higher success rate than a surgeon who does it occasionally. Since the structure is small and a microscope is needed when operating there are few surgeons who specialise in this field. A fertility clinic will get several requests each month and is most likely to have a surgeon attached to them who performs this surgery regularly. Your success rate also depends on your general health so even if the operation is reversed it may take some time before you know if your testes are producing good quality sperms for reproduction. Best wishes.

2 issues here. First is that I feel pee pressure when I am aroused. Also, when I rub the head of my penis, I feel pee pressure. Second issue, when I massage the penis head, my pelvic muscles contract and I can not control it. Then I feel like ejaculating if I keep massaging and it leads to PE.

2. Massaging penis head is leading to sexual arousal and excitement. If you continue doing it, it will certainly lead to climax and you will ejaculate. 1. This does not have any explanation.

Its developing piles. The first home treatment for piles that is highly recommended is ice. Ice will help constrict the blood vessels, reduce swelling and give you immediate pain relief. •Apply an icepack or a partially melted piece of ice wrapped in a cloth directly on the affected area for about 10 minutes. Do this several times a day until the hemorrhoid goes away. •You can even use a small pack of frozen vegetables such as peas or corn. Wrap the pack in a tea towel and then apply it on the hemorrhoid. Do this for 20 minutes at a time, three times a day. Also take Nux vom 30 - twice daily 4 pills for next 2 weeks and get back to me for further treatment.

Knee Arthritis

Dear friends,

I’m Dr. Shekhar Srivastav. I’m senior consultant of orthopedic at Sant Permanand hospital and I have clinic at Jagriti Enclave name Prime Specialty Clinic.

Today I ll be speaking on knee arthritis and its management, the causes of knee arthritis and how do we manage it. Now if we see the knee is compose of these two bones, this is a thigh bone and this is a leg bone and this forms a knee joint. Now the knee joint’s end of the bone is covered with cartilage. Now cartilage are cushion like structures which helps in shock absorptions and helps in smooth motion of the knee joint. Now when this cartilage get destroyed you get arthritis. So there are many causes of arthritis like infection it can be any inflammatory cause, trauma. But the most common cause is aging process. As we age due to wear and tear the cartilage gets destroyed and start getting this arthritis. So the patient will first complain of pain and stiffness while walking. Then he will have difficulty in climbing up the stairs or having difficulty walking long distances as the problem increases you will have problem in getting up from sitting position, complain of pain, stiffness and swelling in the knee joint and in the severe stages there will be the deformity of the knee. You must have seen your neighbors or your parents having bow legs which is because of advance form of arthritis of the knee joint the osteoarthritis of the knee joint. Now there are many factors which contribute to arthritis of the knee joint. The most common being is aging process i.e. because of wear and tear but we also see arthritis more in females or there is also some sort of family tendency it means that if your parents were having arthritis then there is slightly higher chance that you may develop arthritis. How can we prevent it? So there are various things which you can do to prevent the symptoms of arthritis.as you know that it is an aging process so it can’t be stopped but the pain or disability arising from it can be prevented. First of all you have to maintain your weight so, obesity is one of the major causes of the arthritis so you should prevent obesity, you should keep your muscles strong by doing exercises, you should keep your joints flexible by exercising by stretching exercises and then there are also some medications. Physiotherapy, medications they all helps in preventing arthritis. But if you don’t get better with that means arthritis is severe then in that case sometimes you need injections. Now injections are given inside the knee joints and if given judiciously they will give very good relief.in very severe cases when the joint is totally destroyed, the joint is deformed, the limb is not align properly then in that case surgery is needed. There are different type of surgeries for arthritis which will be decided by your orthopedic surgeon. Now we have arthroscopy which is just a key ball incision surgery or we can have alignment surgery. One of the most common procedure we perform is knee replacement. Now people have misconception that in knee replacement whole of the knee is removed, it’s not done in that way. We just gave shape at the end of the bone and we put cap over it just like this so you just gave shape at the end of the bone and you applied a cap over it similarly for the leg bone also. You put the cap over it and in between there is a plastic type thing which allows smooth motion of the knee joint. So these are the various causes and treatments of arthritis. The treatment varies according to the grade of arthritis and that is decided by your orthopedic surgeon.

If you want to know more about the problem or if you have any problem or if you want to contact us, you can contact me at lybrate or you can contact me at Sant Permanand hospital or in my clinic Prime Specialty Clinic at Jagriti Enclave. Thank you!

I don't think you require testosterone until it is deficient. Once check all parameters for sugar, TSH and blood pressure., if every thing is normal then try Cap Co enzyme Q available as Co Q Forte daily. You will feel energetic.
