Rehabilitation From Drug Abuse Ayurveda!

Drug addiction is a condition, which is abnormal or pathological and occurs due to excess use of alcohol, drugs, smoking or other such addictive substances. The different effects of addiction are acute drug use, drug-seeking behavior, relapsing vulnerability, slow response to natural stimuli, and last but not the least, low motivation in life.

Drug addiction is regarded as a community disease as it leads to crimes, violence, failure in school, child-abuse, the loss of productivity and domestic violence. That is why it is very important to eradicate this problem from the society; especially the teens should be educated on the same.

Madatya in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, the problems of drug addiction is dealt under the heading of Madatya, meaning ‘intoxication’. The state of individual occurs due to continuous use of drug, alcohol, tobacco or any substance of high intoxication. Madatya is relative to the third and fourth stage in the addiction process i.e., drug dependence and drug abuse. Madatya kills the will to live a happy and healthy life because it is a total opposite of ‘ojas’, which means a source of energy. Madatya and wellness can’t go hand-in-hand in a body.

Addiction and doshas
The Ayurvedic states that the doshas are aggravated by the overdose of drugs into one’s body. They are Vata (Air), Kapha (Water), Pitta (Fire) or a combination of all three doshas termed as Tridosha.

Treatments in Ayurveda
In Madatya, Ayurveda balances the aggravated doshas. It first detects the doshas, and then treats them. Ayurveda uses herbal remedies to treat the symptoms, discards the toxins (ama) collected in the body and motivates and regenerates cells and tissues. There is a phase in the de-addiction process where the patient becomes confused because their intelligence level drops due to drug abuse. Ayurveda treats this problem with the use of herbs like Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhizaglabra), Brahmi (Bacopamonnieri), Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis) and Guduchi (Tinosporacordifolia).

In Ayurveda, treatment of Sattva Guna, meaning the quality of goodness, is done to promote mental health. The patients are made to follow strict healthy practices like consumption of natural vegetarian food, practice Yoga, and meditation and follow a daily routine of less anxiety and stress. Activities like wearing neat and clean clothes, walking and spending time in natural flowery ambiance with good friends, listening to good music and all other forms of natural relaxants and entertainment are also a part of treatment. These will boost the soul and mind of the patients and make them grateful to God for their lives.

Then doctor told me to leave it on as it is and it will regulate my periods itself slowly and gradually but till date I'm getting irregular periods and doctor denies to give me any medicines. I'm neither overweight nor I've an unhealthy lifestyle. What should I do?

You can take oral contraceptive pills like Ovral L for 3-6 months. The menses often tend to become regular once you stop. Try sweat inducing exercises like running for half an hour at least 3 times a week- they help in making ovulation and menses more regular.

You need to get a pelvic USG done. If normal I would advice you to consider a short course of contraceptive pills like femilon to see if it makes a difference.

I'm newly married woman. And I have thick white discharge since 10 month's I try many doctors but no effect when medicines are on it stop then again same problem. Doctor please help me. Hope this white discharge won't effect on pregnancy?

BHMS

When the cervix or the vagina discharges abnormal white semi-liquid all the time, it is called leucorrhoea in medical terms. It can be thick or thin in consistency and its color may be yellow or white. there are two types. 1) Physiological discharge is one where a white sticky discharge, thin in consistency, occurs continuously. The major cause of it is hormonal imbalance and it occurs in several young girls. 2)Pathological discharge is one which occurs due to an underlying condition, most commonly an infection in the female reproductive tract. Dietary advice 1) Avoid heavy, oily, fried, spicy, and sour foods. 2) Increase intake of fruits, vegetables, and salads. 3)Increase liquids in the diet, such as water, soup, milk and juice. These help to flush out the toxins. 4) Maintain proper hygiene. Wash undergarments with an antibiotic solution, and let them dry under the sun. 5)Take 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds, soak it in a glass of water overnight and drink it in the morning. Continue this for a week. Hope this help you. For further query feel free to ask me.

Blood In Urine - Reasons Behind It!

Blood In Urine - Reasons Behind It!

The condition in which blood appears in the urine is known as hematuria. The loss of blood in this condition could be gross or microscopic depending on the cause of the condition. There are several causes why blood may appear in the urine. Whatever the cause may be, hematuria is mostly indicative of a serious medical condition.

Here are 5 reasons that cause blood to appear in the urine.

1.Infection

Infections like urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis or infection in any other body organ along the urinary tract is one of the most common causes of hematuria. Such bacterial infection in the urethra can also infect the kidneys and the urinary bladder. It results in the urge to urinate frequently and also causes blood to appear in the urine.

2. Kidney stones and bladder stones

Another reason that can cause blood to appear in the urine is the presence of stones in the kidney or bladder. These stones are crystallized minerals that are formed in the kidney or the bladder but fail to pass through the urinary tract. They cause blockage and pain and result in hematuria.

3. An enlarged prostate

An enlarged prostate is a common cause of appearance of blood in the urine in men who are in their middle ages or older. Enlargement of the prostate gland causes the urethra to be compressed. This prevents the urethra from getting fully emptied while urination.

4. Polycystic Kidney Disease

PKD is a kidney disorder in which cysts filled with fluid form in the kidneys and impair the kidneys, causing them to fail entirely at times. It is an inherited disease and causes blood to appear in the urine.

In children who are between 6-10 years of age, kidney disorder after streptococcal glomerulonephritis can be a possible cause of hematuria.

5. Cancer

A cancerous kidney, bladder or prostate gland can also cause blood to appear in the urine. It is another major cause of hematuria but usually occurs in older patients. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Urologist.

Well just because you have pcod does not mean you cannot get pregnant! just that some people take longer than others and some may need a bit of help. Please do your pregnancy test and share the report. The test is a blood test called serum beta hcg. Wait for at least 10 days before doing it.
