Eczema - 4 Homeopathic Remedies that Help You Treat It

Eczema refers to the changes that occur in the upper skin layer. These skin changes can be thickened and cracked skin, skin redness, crusting of the affected area and swollen raw skin, among others. The exact cause of this skin condition is not yet known but a mix of factors have been found to be behind this health problem.

Eczema can be cured if the persistent immunological disturbances get corrected by internal medications like homeopathy treatment, which is known for providing safe and effective treatment. The presence of red, inflamed and itchy skin can trigger psychosocial and emotional stress in the patients suffering from eczema and can become a dominant cause of severe discomfort.

The following are effective homeopathic remedies to treat eczema:

  1. Dry eczema in knees joints and bents of elbow: Sepia officinalis is an ideal homeopathic remedy for eczema in knees and bends of elbow. It provides relief from severe scratching that occurs due to dry skin.
  2. Gastric or urinary trouble: Lycopodium clavatum is an effective remedy for patients suffering from some sort of urinary or gastric trouble. It is also known to provide effective relief from severe itching and bleeding resulting from eczematous eruptions. It also provides relief in cases of deep fissures and hardening of skin.
  3. Excessive itching: Sulphur is a Natural Homeopathic medicine, which is considered one of the most effective remedies for eczema. It provides instant relief from burning sensation and excessive itching. It is also beneficial in the case of eczema that has worsened due to the indiscriminate usage of external ointments.
  4. Weeping type of eczema: Graphite is an effective homeopathic medication that treats the weeping type of eczema that usually occurs between fingers or toes, behind the ears and scalp. It provides effective relief from eczematous eruptions that discharge sticky fluid and eczema that develops on eyelids.

8 Tips to Improve Your Child's Mental Well-being

8 Tips to Improve Your Child's Mental Well-being

Parents are always concerned about their child's physical health, but often ignore their mental health. Along with physical well-being, your child's mental well-being is also equally important.

The following are eight tips to improve your child's mental well-being:

  1. Adequate sleep: Sufficient amount of sleep is required for a child to stay mentally fit. Parents often engage their children with various classes and activities and compromise on their sleeping hours. This in turn affects the child's mental state. Therefore, as a parent, you must take care not to compromise on your child's sleeping hours.
  2. Allowing them to play: Nowadays, children are overburdened with studies and other learning activities. They do not get to play quite often. But as a parent, you must take care of your child's schedule, so that he/she can have proper playtime too. Playing involves physical activity as well as creativity in certain cases. This helps to improve mental health.
  3. Learning to share and care: You must take care to inculcate in your child the values of sharing and caring. These little things can also help improve your child's mental health. Learning how to share with others and caring for others will help them to stay happy.
  4. Regular exercise: Encouraging your child to regularly exercise will not only help improve his/her physical health, but also mental health. It will also help them to reduce stress and maintain a good mood as well.
  5. Listen to them: Parents often ignore when children are speaking on less important matters; may be about a new friend or a strict teacher in school. But as a parent, you must take out some time from your daily schedule to listen out to their stories. Listening to them attentively will make them feel important, increase their confidence and hence, improve their mental well-being.
  6. Encourage them to make friends: Encouraging your child to make new friends will help them to socialize better. They will feel confident about themselves and also open up. This can boost up their mental well-being.
  7. Good nourishment: Proper nourishment is not only essential for being physically fit, but also mentally fit. Good nourishment will help them stay healthy physically and increase their energy levels. This in turn will positively affect their mental health.
  8. Make them feel safe: Children need to feel safe in order to stay mentally fit. Try and spend some time with them every day. As a parent, always make your children realize that you are right beside them. Listen to their problems and help them find solutions to solve those instead of scolding them. Help them to relax and feel secure to stay mentally fit.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a the doctor and ask a free question.

Any cold medicine will not affect your breast feed, do not worry about that. Nowadays, cold is usually viral, so you can drink a lot of warm water and cetirizine if you have running nose.

Homeopath, Raebareli
Please check if he is having intestinal worms. Also note if this is genetic or not. Also in growing age most of the children do look sick and bony but as age advances everything will be fine. Give him a glass of milk daily - do note give any food-supplement - horlicks/bournvita/complain etc.

I have a 15 days child and I'm unable to feed her Please suggest some medicines for lactations.
Lactation is associated with mother's health, diet and mental health. So first of all take proper rest, take healthy balance diet, take more milk and do not get tense (it may reduce your milk production). Give only breast milk to child upto 6 month. You can take ayurvedic product marketed as tab. Laptadin or Galact granules for improve lactation.

Difficult to find out reason why it has happened in your child ! but Viral infections are the most common cause of meningitis, followed by bacterial infections. How ever there are fe risk factors :- Risk factors Risk factors for meningitis include: Skipping vaccinations. Risk rises for anyone who hasn't completed the recommended childhood or adult vaccination schedule. Age. Most cases of viral meningitis occur in children younger than age 5. Bacterial meningitis is common in those under age 20. Living in a community setting. College students living in dormitories, personnel on military bases, and children in boarding schools and child care facilities are at greater risk of meningococcal meningitis. This is probably because the bacterium is spread by the respiratory route, and spreads quickly through large groups. Pregnancy. Pregnancy increases the risk of listeriosis — an infection caused by listeria bacteria, which also may cause meningitis. Listeriosis increases the risk of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature delivery. Compromised immune system.

Hi such pains are usually common in this age group. Few things you have to keep in mind is regular deworming. If even after that his symptoms continue see what other associated symptoms are present. Sometimes when a child has common cold and cough they have something called mesenteric lymphadenitis which can cause similar kind of pain as you mentioned. Do not worry.

Shaken baby syndrome: what are the signs and symptoms?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
Pediatrician,
Shaken baby syndrome: what are the signs and symptoms?
Shaken baby syndrome (SBS) is a constellation of medical findings (often referred to as a "triad"): subdural hematoma, retinal bleeding, and brain swelling from which physicians, consistent with current medical understanding, infer child abuse caused by violent shaking. In a majority of cases there is no visible sign of external injury. Shaken baby syndrome is a subset of the broader form of child abuse termed abusive head trauma. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identifies SBS as "an injury to the skull or intracranial contents of an infant or young child (< 5 years of age) due to inflicted blunt impact and/or violent shaking"
