I have keloid on my chest since 6 years. It is growing bigger day by day. Can you please suggest the treatment. Initially it was like a pimple. Thank you.

BAMS
Ayurveda, Ambala
Dear, keloids are formed due to defective healing of body injury. I can suggest you some better tips to get relief from keloids: * boil 100 gm of dry or fresh neem leaves in 500 ml of water and wash keloids with this water daily. * take 2 teaspoon of turmeric (haldi) and 2 tea spoon of mehndi, mix some water in it and make paste. Apply this paste on keloids and wash it after 45 minutes. Repeat it atleast for 20-25 days. * you can take mahamanjishtarishth but only under the guidance of an ayurveda expert. * you can also opt the plastic surgery or radiation therapy by consulting a cosmetic surgeon.

My height is not increasing what should I do. I have done yoga, physical exercises, etc. Please tell me what should I do.

My height is not increasing what should I do.
I have done yoga, physical exercises, etc. Please tell me what should I...
We all are aware of the fact that our height increases up to a particular age and then it comes to a halt. Height increases up to the age of 18years in women and up to the age of 20 years in men. Increase in height is attributed to the production of growth hormone, called the hgh (human growth hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland called the master gland of our body.----------- it is rather difficult to increase height after reaching adulthood as the production of these hormones slowly stops. In most cases, the epiphyses of the long bones are fused as the last bits of cartilaginous tissue in the bones turn into solid hard bones. This prevents any further growth in longer bones. However, if the hormones are released naturally, increase in height can be observed. Homoeopathic medicines acts as a catalyst in increasing the production of these hormones.---------- increase in height at your age depends upon a no. Of factors like------------- 1. Height of parents------------------ 2. Recorded any increase in height in last 24 months-------------

Working For Too Long - 8 Ways It Can Cause Stress!

MBBS, Fellow in Critical Care(FCCM)
General Physician, Bhubaneswar
Working For Too Long - 8 Ways It Can Cause Stress!

Failure to strike a healthy work-life balance can see your health going on the downswing. Several studies have time and again highlighted the fact that working too much can be bad for you. The major factor that is at play when you work too much is stress, which negatively impacts both your mental and physical well-being. A joint study conducted by Stanford university and Harvard business school has revealed that workplace stress can ruin your physical health by as much as 90%.

Read on to find out the ill effects of all work and no play.

  1. Working overtime can increase your risk of developing cardiovascular problems by about 60%.
  2. While working too much can see your risk of experiencing a heart attack rise by about 13%, over 55 hours of work time every week can increase your chances of getting a stroke by about 33%.
  3. Consistently working overtime can lead you to face mental health problems.
  4. Over-working can cause your learning ability and memory power to fail as you don't get the required amount of rest time.
  5. Working for over 11 hours a day can increase your chances of suffering from depression.
  6. Working for over 40 hours a week can increase your risk of gaining weight, and indulging in alcohol and tobacco abuse.
  7. Working for over 50 hours a week can bring about a reduction in your sleep time to less than 6 hours a day, which can have an adverse impact on your work performance.
  8. Working non-stop in front of the computer can cause you to become prone to headaches and blurred vision.

Here's how you can prevent the negative effects of working too much from impacting your health:

  1. Take a short trip: Being physically away from your workplace and going on short vacations can help your health considerably as it reduces work-related stress to a great extent. It also helps in the rejuvenation of your mind and body, thereby improving your overall health.
  2. Meditate for a calmer self: Meditation is another helpful way in which you can cut down the harm that too much work can have on your body. Spend a few moments each day to de-stress and calm your agitated mind.
  3. Don't bring work home: Once you're at home, avoid the impulse of checking your phone or email for work. Furthermore, avoid bringing your smartphone with you to the dinner table and don't discuss work while eating.
  4. Go for regular checkups: Consulting a doctor regularly is another preventive measure that you need to take very seriously. Screening tests for stroke, heart disease or high blood pressure should be undertaken from time to time so as to prevent yourself from falling prey to such problems.

Despite your heavy workload, you still need to take out time for yourself. It is imperative that you do so in order to create a better work-life balance and consequently, a healthier self.

Hi Sourav, Body ache with cold is common in viral fevers. You can take Tablet Dolo 650 one tablet twice a day for two days. If the fever persists, you must undergo a blood test in order to rule out malaria and dengue.

I have pimples and rashes in my face. I use no marks cream. But it does not effect. What should I do?

BAMS

I have pimples and rashes in my face. I use no marks cream. But it does not effect. What should I do?
These are the methods to treat fastly pimples: • Imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

I want to use an energy drink so that I can workout more then my usual limit. My usual limit is 30 minutes barely. Which energy drink should I use?

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Firstly get a routine medical check up with a doctor (and do some basic tests to assess your fitness level ). Go slow with exercise and do not exert more at a time. Add yoga and pranayam which help in enhancing your strength and stamina naturally. Eat healthy food (read about balanced diet ). Have lots of fruits which will give you the needed energy naturally. Please revert after that with all the details for further clarification/ information.
