HI its Bharat from Giridih. I have a continuous bed wetting problem after suffering the serious meningitis problem in the year2000. I have to face same during journey also. Tell me what to do?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
It is the consequence of meningitis and as it is you can use adult diapers. Medications can treat a variety of conditions of which bedwetting is a symptom. For example: Antibiotics can eliminate UTIs. Anticholinergic drugs can calm an irritated bladder. Eesmopressin acetate increases levels of ADH to slow nighttime urine production. DHT-blocking medications reduce swelling of the prostate gland.

Sir mere bache ko RTA TYPE 2 HE aur uski umar 04 month he kya wo puri trah thik ho sakta he aur jab wo bimar hua tab caretinin 8.00 tha aur abhi 2.80 he.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Treatment of distal (type 1) and proximal (type 2) renal tubular acidosis. The approach to therapy in distal (type 1) and proximal (type 2) renal tubular acidosis (rta) is determined by the primary defect in each disorder: decreased distal acidification and impaired proximal bicarbonate reabsorption, respectively how rta is treated depends on what's causing it. If it's a reaction to a certain drug, treatment may involve stopping use of the drug or changing the dosage. If an underlying disease or other condition is causing rta, it will be treated until that condition resolves. To treat the effects of rta, it's necessary to restore a normal acid level to the blood. To do this, doctors prescribe alkaline medicines, such as sodium bicarbonate, that help to lower the blood's concentration of acid. Most of the time, treatment for rta is effective. Kids whose rta is caused by a genetic defect may need treatment for the rest of their lives. The good news is that sticking with their treatments lets kids remain healthy.

Why vaccination of baby is confusing? Which Standard should we follow as Government Schedule and Private Schedule are different.

DNB Paediatrics, DCH, MBBS
Pediatrician, Delhi
Hello lybrate user, best schedule to follow is the schedule mentioned by the indian academy of pediatrics which includes all the vaccines that are important for your baby. The govt schedule is the basic immunization model and consists of all the mandatory vaccines but certain optional vaccines due to affordability issues have not been included. So iap includes all the vaccines mandatory as well as optional. So if affordability is not an issue you could go for the iap schedule which all private practitioners follow.

Continue breast feeding till breast is empty or baby is satisfied and keep top milk ready to feed baby if he is still hungery. This is natural and effective way of increasing milk production. Take yourself good nutritious diet.

Hello Doctor, My baby is now 6 months old, he is 6 kg born 1 month pre-term with 1.8 kg. He is taking nanpro1 from past 2 months. Doctor suggested to give rapgrow drop and lactodex hmf sachet, but these medicines are really tough to get in the market and I don't see any review for rapgrow. Will it be safe? Also he is continuing zincovit drop and raricap drop.

MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Bangalore
As the baby growth is good both length and weight and if developmentally normal, you can stop giving rapgrow and lactodex hmf. Continue with zincovit and iron drops. And important is to give vit d3 (ultra d3) drops 1ml once daily till 1 year of age as we see vit d defeciency very commonly. Start on the weaning diet and iron rich foods so that you can slowly stop iron supplementation if haemoglobin is normal.

Are there any long-term effects associated with taking ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) medications? If so, what are they and what medications are implicated? What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems? What causes Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and what is the best method of treatment? Can iodine help this condition?

FAMS, MS - Orthopaedics, Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho)
Orthopedist, Indore
Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, namaskar, you must ask the first question to a psychiatrist. Spine block injections are used to treat such discs which are not so bad in the mri but still causing problem to the patient. Or where the patient does not accept surgery despite an indication in the mri. This is a palliative measure to alleviate pain temporarily. For few weeks to few months. Can not be predicted by the doctor. The hashimoto's disease is treated by endocrinologists. He will be able to answer your question properly. Take care.
