Hi sir advice what to do in body pain its too much pain in hole body as I have polio.
What is the severity of pain? is the pain continuous or intermittent? is it pulsating? since pain is a complex phenomenon, there are many treatment options medications, therapies, and mind-body techniques. Apart from painkillers, there is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. A therapeutic diet complemented with few medications for pain management can also work wonders. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Hello- Smoking can have a big, bad effect on your sexual performance. Your risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) is about twice that of guys who don't smoke. And the more you smoke, the greater the risk. Not only does smoking cause ED, it can also cause infertility. Men who smoke have low sperm counts. Smoking makes it harder to get and maintain an erection because it releases adrenaline and other stimulating compounds that clamp down on the flow of blood to the penis. Less blood means weaker erections and erections more likely to fail. If you want to increase your sexual stamina you must minimize your smoking and maximize your dietary consumption including aphrodisiacs, fresh fruits and vegetables.

You shouldn't have any pain in the penis. Pain indicates something is wrong there. It is possible you have ruptured a vein or artery in the penis, or damaged the sponge-like material that holds blood in to make an erection, or variocele.

Dear lybrate user. Your symptoms are suggestive of you being in major depression. A person when in major depression has low neurotransmitters like serotonin in brain and thus is very difficult for him to motivate himself. He has a negative attribution style for almost everything around him which is similar to what you are having and yes you seem to have other risk factors of being unmarried and jobless. Lack of confidence and interest are further hurdels to motivate self for social interactions. I would suggest you to consult a psychiatrist and get started on medications as soon as possible. Gradually over time cbt and other life changes may be brought about. With medications you will start feeling better by say 10 to 15 days from the start. I hope you take the step in right directions and get better soon. Take care.

All you need to know about infections of the Uterus, Vagina and Cervix

All you need to know about infections of the Uterus, Vagina and Cervix

All you need to know about infections of the uterus, vagina and cervix

The uterus, vagina and cervix are major components of the female reproductive system. Their functioning impacts the overall growth and health of the female body as well as sexuality.

There are a number of infections and diseases that affect the female reproductive organs. Most cases require clinical care and treatment in consultation with a gynaecologist.

Following are the symptoms of infection in the uterus, cervix or vagina:

  •  pain or numbness in the pelvic region
  •  unusual discharge from the vagina
  •  bleeding during or after intercourse
  •  pain or burning sensation during urination
  •  skipped periods
  •  excessively painful menstrual cramps
  •  nausea and vomiting
  •  urinary incontinence

There are three main types of infections that affect the organs of the female reproductive system. They are as follows:

1. Vaginitis
This is an infection that affects the vagina. It occurs when the walls of the vagina get inflamed and irritated. It is caused by bacteria, viruses, yeast, chemicals and even clothing. It often occurs due to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The different types of infections that occur as vaginitis are yeast infection, viral vaginitis, bacterial vaginitis, trichomoniasis vaginitis, etc.

2. Cervicitis
This infection affects the cervix. Cervicitis can either be acute or chronic in nature, depending upon what causes the cervix to get inflamed. It occurs most commonly due to sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia and herpes. This condition is often confused with vaginitis as the two have similar causes and symptoms.

3. Pelvic inflammatory disease
Pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) is a serious infection that affects the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. It is caused by sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia and gonorrhoea and can lead to severe complications. It often causes scar tissue to grow between the internal organs and may even lead to ectopic pregnancy. If not properly diagnosed, it can cause infertility and other chronic problems.

Treating the various infections that affect the female reproductive system depends on a number of factors such as nature of the problem, age and medical history of the patient, and the root causes. Early detection and diagnosis ensure effective treatment which makes it important to see a gynaecologist at the onset of symptoms.

Diabetes is of primarily two types – Diabete mellitus (Type-I and Type II) and Diabetes insipidus.

What is type-1 diabetes?

Type-1 diabetes is sometimes called juvenile diabetes, or insulin-dependent diabetes. It means that your body can’t make insulin. Insulin helps your body turn the sugar from the food you eat into a source of energy. Type 1 occurs more frequently in children and young adults, but accounts for only 5-10% of the total diabetes cases nationwide.

What is type-2 diabetes?

Type-2 diabetes results when insulin production is defective and tissue resistance to insulin develops. For many persons with Type-2 diabetes, daily insulin supplementation is not required. Diabetes is managed by making moderate changes in diet and exercise. Of the nearly 16 million Americans with diabetes, 90-95% (14.9 million) have Type-2 diabetes. Of these, roughly a third are unaware they have the disease.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease involving abnormalities in the body’s ability to use sugar. Diabetes is characterized by:

Elevated blood sugars for months to years.
Both hereditary and environmental factors leading to its development and progression.
A relative or absolute deficiency of effective circulating insulin. Insulin is a substance made by the pancreas which lowers blood sugar in conjunction with meals. Diabetes is characterized by either: (1) an inability of the pancreas to produce insulin (type 1 or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus) or an inability of insulin to exert its normal physiological actions (type 2 or non-insulin dependent diabetes).
Often recognized in patients and their families by excessive urination, thirst, weight loss and/or a lack of energy. But diabetes is often silent and may exist for many years without the individual’s noticing it.
Effects certain “target tissues,” that is, tissues which are vulnerable to the damaging effects of chronically high blood sugar levels. These target tissues are the eye, the kidney, the nerves and the large blood vessels, such as in the heart.

A form of diabetes resulting from a deficiency of vasopressin (the pituitary hormone that regulates the kidneys); characterized by the chronic excretion of large amounts of pale dilute urine which results in dehydration and extreme thirst.
