Hi You can lose weight easily if you are patient and determined to shed those extra kilos. You just have to alter your daily routine, watch what you eat and be physically active. This requires you to be on your weight loss commitment for quiet long. For a start please follow: 1. Cut down the excess carbs. If you want to lose weight you should start by avoiding sugar and starch (like bread). A low carb diet reduces your hunger and makes it easier to eat less. And it might even increase your fat burning at rest. 2. Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel, thus creating a backlog of unwanted pounds. 3. Stay hydrated. You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. 4. Start exercising. Strength training builds lean muscle tissue, which burns more calories — at work or at rest — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The more lean muscle you have, the faster you'll slim down. How do you start strength training? Try some push-ups or a few squats or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Do these exercises three to four times per week, and you'll soon see a rapid improvement in your physique. 5. Go for an evening walk. An evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips. 6. Take adequate rest. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep, preferably every night. Strive to wake up refreshed of your own accord, independently of the alarm clock. If you’re the kind of person who always gets brutally woken up by the alarm ringing, you might never be giving your body adequate rest. 7. Supplement vitamins and minerals. Nutrient-dense, good food is certainly the foundation of weight loss. But an adequate amount of vitamin D can be difficult to ingest via food. In the case of a lack of sun (such as during the darker months of autumn and winter), it’s wise to supplement for multiple health reasons – and perhaps even for your weight.

Take pranacharya virechan churna or triphala churna in warm water before sleep. And 1-1 tab of chitrakadi vati and shoolvajrini vati two times a day.

Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

My wife is suffering from numbness of skin and severe pain in left abdomen and back up to spine. Following tests have been done with out any significant findings: abdomen ct scan - enlarged liver 17%, age related changes seen in lumber region but insignificant. Mri spine - dorsal - normal, slight age related changes abdomen u/s - normal hemogram - normal lipid profile - slight increase in ldl & lower hdl kft - normal urine routine and culture - minor colony of staphylococus thyroid - normal doctors consulted till now do not associate any of diagnostic findings with symptoms and have put her on pregabalin 75 mg nucoxia120 and rabekind dsr. Request advice from concerned specialists on exact cause of her condition and way to diagnose and treat her. She is 52, slight overweight and post menopausal since last two years. Regards.

Hi The single most important nutrient for gaining healthy weight is Protein Eat protein to gain muscle. If your goal is to put on muscle mass, then you need to be eating protein-rich foods on a regular basis. Add calorie-dense foods to your meals. Try to take frequent meal (3 major & 3-4 small meal/snacks). If you are non vegetarian, you can take chicken, fish/ egg. Try to avoid red meat and take healthy snacks. Don’t drink water before meal. Do not forget to take sufficient water. Regular work out as you are doing.

Hi. Loss of 100 hairs per day is quite normal. Are you having recession of frontal hair line or diffuse hair fall? take diet rich in protein and take biotin supplements. You can use volumizing shampoos.

However, the management depends on grade of piles: 1. Grade 1, 2 and 3(asymptomatic) requires nonsurgical measures which includes avoidance of NSAIDs (painkillers), and spicy fatty food. Increased dietary fiber and adequate water/ fluid intake. Seitz bath: Fill the bathtub with about 2 to 3 inches of warm water. It doesn’t take a lot of water - only a couple of inches. Don't add shower gel, bubble bath, or any type of soap. The temperature should be lukewarm and comfortable to the touch. Sit in the tub, making sure your private area is covered. Soak up to three times a day for 10 to 15 minutes. Afterward, gently pat the area dry using a soft towel. Grade 3 symptomatic and grade 4 piles requires surgical intervention.

For the last four months I am having backpain. During periods it is more. Some times I can not tolerate with the pain I did one spine MRI and abdominal USG both are normal. No significant abnormalities find in that.

Avoid forward bending, lifting weights, and sitting posture. You sit in vajrasan if possible. Practice yogasanas (bhujangasan, shalbhasan, makrasan, markatasan, chakrasan, kati uttanasan) and continue physiotherapy.
