Follow these best methods for treatment of hair fall • Add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs. . • Stress is one of the main cause of hair fall. To reduce hairfall , Practice Yogasana like SHIRSHASANA and SARWANGASANA only under the guidance of Expert. • you can use MAHABHRINGRAJ TEL of BAIDYANATH COMPANY and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily .It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. • Avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo as they cause destruction of hair follicles. * Take Vitamin-E rich foods like dry fruits (Almonds, Pista etc) daily. * Apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week. It gives nourishment to hair root and enhances hair growth. You can take HAIR REGROW Pack for more medicine treatment.

Getting some permanent kind of pimples on face and neck, but now it has appeared on upper layer of my eye, due to which it is creating problems. Please advise what to do.

MD
Yoga & Naturopathy Specialist, Delhi
For acne do the following: wash your face 5-6 times daily. Take one cup of spinach juice every day. If you can, eat only fruits and fruit juices for three days. Apply steam on your face. Do some exercise for 20 mins to 30 mins, which will cause heavy sweating on the entire body. These will remove pimples from his face in less than two months. Also remember no lotion, cream or medicine can actually remove them permanently. Only the above treatment can do so. If you can come for a visit still better advice is possible.

I have white spots on my face. Is it better to use candid ointment?? Is there any better ointment than that?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, if you are getting relief then you can continue using it but this is a temporary solution to your problem. White patches on your skin are a common type of depigmented skin lesion associated with an infection, allergy, or autoimmune disorder. One common cause of white spots, or hypopigmentation, is a fungal infection of the skin known as tinea versicolor (associated with other symptoms, such as itching or dryness on or around the white patches). This fungal infection is not contagious and can be treated easily with over-the-counter medications. Please tell me other symptoms like about sensation on the area, since how long do you have this patch, any family history of white patch, etc. In the mean time you can take cal phos 6x, 4 tabs twice daily. Do send me a clear photo of the affected area.

Got scars? Opt for Scar Revision Surgery

MBBS, PGDA
Trichologist, Delhi
Got scars? Opt for Scar Revision Surgery

Scar revision surgery is a surgery that is used to get rid of scars on your body. This surgery can be used to restore normal functioning of the skin and correct skin deformities due to injuries. Scar tissue tends to form after the healing process of the skin is complete. The amount of scarring depends on certain factors such as characteristics of your skin, size of the wound and your age.

The procedure begins with a dose of anesthesia, which can either be local or general. The time when you should have a scar revision surgery is not very clear; usually you wait till the wound heals and the scars become a little lighter in color. This process may take a few months or a year to complete.

The various methods for scar revision surgery are:

  1. Dermabrasion is a procedure in which the upper layer of the skin is removed with a wire brush to facilitate growth of new skin. This procedure helps in softening the skin surface.
  2. Large skin injuries such as burns may affect large areas of the skin, resulting in hypertrophic scars (a raised scar formed by excessive collagen deposits). These scars are known for their ability to restrict movement of tendons, muscles and joints. The extra scar tissues are removed by making incisions on your skin to cause V-shaped skin flaps. This helps in reducing the scar size and makes it less noticeable.
  3. Skin grafting is a procedure which involves taking skin from one part of the body and using it to cover up the affected area. This is mainly used to improve functioning of the affected part.
  4. Certain problems such as damaged skin due to injuries or birth defects may require tissue expansion. In this procedure, a silicone balloon is put under your skin and then filled with saline water. This procedure allows stretching of the skin so that it grows over time.

The reason why this procedure is performed are:

  1. A scar that is angled from the normal lines of the skin
  2. A thick scar
  3. If a scar is restricting movements of the surrounding muscles and joints
  4. If you have a keloid that is characterized by a thick scar and has a different color than that of the skin. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

Decrease fat diet and junk foods. Avoid much oil and fries. Clean face more often with pure water, don't use cosmetic soaps rather use medicated soaps. Avoid using facial cosmetic creams rather use turmeric to apply which is antiseptic.

I heard a product name called" Skin lite" my friend is using. I dnt see any adv regarding that cream. But the cream shows drastic change. She became very fair within a month. My quest is: s dat prod a good one. Recommendable or it vl show any side effects. Kindly reply.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Skinlite cream is a strong and effective pigmentation reducer cream. Since it contains hydroquinone, steroid and tretinoin, it is important that you don't use it without a dermatologist's prescription. The cream works by restricting melanin production, limiting melanin transfer, and speeding skin cell turnover. The cream works quite well when used for a short time, but you may end up getting thin dry skin with acne, irritation, and visible thread veins if you keep using it for extended time. It sometimes also leads to rebound pigmentation. Therefore, you should avoid using it without an indication.

Hi I am 44 years old men. I am facing some pimple issue on my forehead. Which is irritating me. What should I do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Udupi
Dear Lybrate User, If you didn’t know it already then let me break it to you. Stress causes PIMPLES!! Not that I’m excited about it or something but it actually does. When our body produces the stress hormone, it leads to causing pimples in two ways. 1: The hair follicle lining thickens due to the hormone causing whiteheads and blackheads and if bacteria gets trapped inside of it, a pimple is formed. 2: Our body directs blood and oxygen to more vital areas leaving skin dehydrated and prone to clogged pores and breakouts. Hence in order to avoid pimples one also needs to reduce their stress levels. You may try yoga or meditation to stay stress-free and pimple-free.

What is a Pimple?. & why It is compulsory to every teenagers? Pimple and why am I getting them?

Dermatologist, Nagpur
Due to effects of increased hormonal secretions, there is increased activity of oil secreting glands which results in increased pimple forming tendency. There are variations in person to person regarding severity of pimples. So treatment is different according to severity. Pimples are a part of secondary changes occurring in an individual due increased hormones which is part of transition from childhood to adolescent stage.

Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regularly massage head and hair with coconut oil, almond oil (depending upon your scalp type) 1 to 3 times a week. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash.
