Please check for the presence of both the testes. If they are there in the scrotum nothing to worry about it's shrinkage.

My baby is 4 month old and as he rolling due to pressure on stomach he is vomiting 8-10 times and his toilet is yellowish color proper but doing 3 to 4 times a day little little. Here he is drinking and then rolling and then vomiting. He is not vomiting milk but its like curd. I consult a Dr. he suggested perinorm 8 drops thrice a day is it safe to give him perinorm as I have read a lot of side effect of perinorm. If not perinorm than kindly suggest a substitute for the same.

If baby's wt is about 5.5 kg and gaining regularly, you need not to worry. Burping after feed is best to control such type of vomiting (regurgitaion. It is normal and motion 3 to 4 times in a day is also normal. No need to give perinorm.

Tetanus - Why You Need To Get Your Child Vaccinated Against It?

Fellowship in Neonatology, MRCPCH(UK), Diploma in Child Health (DCH), MBBS
Pediatrician, Delhi
Tetanus - Why You Need To Get Your Child Vaccinated Against It?

It is the first vaccine that the doctor will ask your child to get if he/she gets wound. Tetanus is a rare but severe condition which occurs when bacteria enter into an open wound. It can turn fatal if left untreated, so you need to follow the vaccination schedule in order to control the infection. Indulging in substance abuse (especially the ones that require injecting with syringes) increases the risk of tetanus.

Causes
This disorder is caused by the bacteria called ‘Clostridium tetani’. The bacterium is known to survive for an extended period outside the body, and is found in places such as soil and the manure of cows and horses. The bacteria enter the body through a wound, multiply rapidly and then release a toxin. This toxin causes muscle spasms and stiffness, thus affecting your nerves. The bacteria can enter the body through cuts, burns, animal bites, body piercings and eye injuries. However, this disorder is not contagious.

Symptoms
The symptoms of this disease can take 5-20 days to develop fully in the body. Your child may experience symptoms such as a rise in the body temperature, sweating, rapid heartbeats, muscle spasms and stiffening of the jaw muscles. These symptoms will worsen if left untreated, eventually leading to cardiac arrest or suffocation in some cases.

Treatment
If your child has a wound, the first step is to administer an injection of tetanus immunoglobulin. Tetanus immunoglobulin contains antibodies that effectively kill the tetanus bacteria. In case the symptoms start, then the child might need to be admitted to a hospital. Here, antibiotics and muscle relaxants are administered and breathing support may also be provided if required.

The preventive measure of this disorder is to be vaccinated against the ‘tetanus’ bacteria. The vaccine consists of five injections that are administered in a specific order. Once the entire course has been completed, it usually provides lifelong protection against the tetanus bacteria. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a pediatrician.

My 18 months daughter denies to have food all the time and if she eats then quantity is very less. She is of 10 kg only and sh is underweight What to do, pl suggest

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
Relax, 10 kg @18 months is not underweight. If she is playful and active respect her wishes, let her feel hungry and demand. Imposing your idea of health, weight, hunger is not going to help. Follow IAP growth charts, I'd she fits in normal range just let go your ideas of perfection, accept as she is.

Did my baby's weight has increased too much in my 30 weeks pregnancy. Can that cause discomfort in chest.

Did my baby's weight has increased too much in my 30 weeks pregnancy. Can that cause discomfort in chest.
Hi, certainly, rapid growth in the baby can lead to pressure in the chest and gerd (reflux). You should try to take small frequent meals, and avoid spicy foods. Also, sleep with a slightly raised head and neck position. Taking medicines after talking to your doctor may help as well. Please get back for specific advice, warm regards.

Hi doctors my baby is 2 months doctor prescribed her vitamin d drops I have heard d drops make baby dark is that true. Bcoz when she was born she was fair after phototherapy she became very much dark so. Please help me out

Hi doctors my baby is 2 months doctor prescribed her vitamin d drops I have heard d drops make baby dark is that true...
Infants who are exclusively breastfed but who do not receive supplemental vitamin D or adequate sunlight exposure are at increased risk of developing vitamin D deficiency and/or rickets. Infants with darker pigmentation are at greater risk of vitamin D deficiency, a fact explained by the greater risk of deficiency at birth and the decreased vitamin D content in milk from women who themselves are deficient. Although vitamin D concentrations can be increased in milk of lactating women by using large vitamin D supplements, such high-dose supplementation studies in lactating women have not been validated and demonstrated to be safe in larger, more representative populations of women across various parts of the world. Recommendations to universally supplement breastfeeding mothers with high-dose vitamin D cannot be made at this time. Therefore, supplements given to the infant are necessary.

7.8kg at 1 year is quite low for her age. It could be plain regurgitation or something more sinister. Before coming to conclusion more information will be needed. Consult a pediatrician or u can send private questions.
