I am an insulin dependent diabetic. My blood report reveals high LDL and Low HDL levels, though the overall reading is within range of 200. My diabetologist has Prescribed Atorvastatin 5 mg. When I take that I feel a lot of discomfort. Get constipation ,back pain and less urine outflow. Are these the side effects of this drug? Is there any other safw drug without any side effects? There are definite side effects of hyperlipidemic medicines in allopathy. If you want '0' side effects, you need to resort to Ayurveda/ herbals. However depending upon other related issues of your health, a plan has to be made to integrate medicines initially. Herbs also keep side effects of allopathy at bay without counteracting.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Theblood glucose values mentioned (both) are too high, suggesting she has severe diabetes or uncontrolled diabetes. This is a serious condition, needing immediate treatment with appropriate drugs, plus diet control and regular exercise. If not then uncontrolled diabetes can cause a multiple complications related to almost every single vital organ and system in the body. Hence, you may contact a good diabetologist locally and start the treatment. Or elase, please come in a private conversation with following details like current fasting, PP blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, weight, height, diet pattern and extent of exercise being done daily also inform her lipid profiles and BP readings, then I will be able to give specific guidance and prescriptions. But treatment is must. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, if you take eggs regularly then that is one of the best types of protein that can be taken particularly in diabetes. Most protein supplements contain fair amount of carbs and also fat, but egg white is pure protein (albumen) and is the best type of p Thanks. Rotein containing all the essential amino acids.
