HERPES ZOSTER AND HOMOEOPATHY

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Herpes Zoster is a viral infection affecting nerves caused by virus Varicella Zoster. In Hindi and Marathi, it is commonly called ‘Nagin’ meaning snake, because its skin lesions appear serpent-like.

Varicella Zoster causes Chicken pox too. In some cases of Chicken pox, the virus continues to stay in the nerves and remains dormant for a long time. When activated, this silent virus presents itself as Herpes Zoster. Therefore, 90% patients inflicted with Herpes Zoster report to have had past history of Chicken pox. Herpes Zoster appears as many collections of multiple tiny painful blisters which are filled with dirty white or yellowish fluid.

These collections appear along the distribution of the afflicted nerve. The skin below and around the eruptions is red and inflamed. It usually appears on any one side of the body. The pain varies from mild to severe and can be experienced as burning or shooting pain and can be extremely agonizing. The skin lesion may subside in 3 to 6 weeks, however the pain may last forever.

This condition is called ‘Post-Herpetic Neuralgia’. Therefore, the condition should be treated as fast as possible. Skin to skin contact is the major source of spread. However, it is not extremely infectious. Homoeopathy is strongly recommended in cases of Herpes Zoster. Homoeopathy rapidly cures the disease, relieves the pain, heals the skin lesions, prevents relapse and Post Herpetic Neuralgia.

Although the patient starts feeling comfortable within the first few days of treatment, 8 to 12 weeks of medicines is recommended to heal the lesions completely and prevent relapse and Post-herpetic neuralgia. Treatment should be continued till the affected skin becomes completely clear and healthy.

Hi, I am newly married. I want to know that it is necessary to use protection during intercourse every time if we do not want pregnancy this time. Or using medicines like ipill is ok or having some side effects.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
YOu can do sex in safe period without condom as protection and if periods are not regular it may fail. But do not abort the first child even if it happens by your mistake. You can also use vaginal pessaries every time as it is safe and avoids the discomfort of condom. She can take an Injection every 3 months for 3 times after discussing with me or your doc personally.

How to Stop Biting Nails

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Visakhapatnam
How to Stop Biting Nails

1. Always keep your nails neat and trimmed. Long nails tend to get in the way and tempt you to bite them.
2. Use mint chewing gums or flavoured candies as a distraction. They keep your mouth busy and distracts the mind away from your nails.
3. Apply a few drops of neem oil on your fingers and let them dry. The bitter taste of neem oil will stop involuntary nail biting to an extent.
4. Keep a stress ball handy. Use it to distract yourself whenever you feel like biting your nails.
5. Even if this practice cannot be followed throughout the day, make sure to use gloves or adhesive bandages whenever possible. The fact that you will not be able to bite your nails will register in your mind and kill the habit slowly.
6. If you are okay with it, use nail polish to style your fingernails. This encourages you to grow nails as well.
7. Stress is a major factor that induces nail-biting in certain people. You will notice that you do not bite nails much when your mind is fresh and relaxed.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Medicines work only till 8 weeks. medicines fail in cases of dose not taken properly pregnancy is too early-just up by a day or so pregnancy is beyond 8 weeks. get it confirmed by ultrasound first & then opt for procedure like MR done in OPD for cases upto 9 weeks only beyond 12 weeks till 20 weeks,it has to be carried out like artificial delivery like induced pains with help of medicines

Yes sex can be practice during pregnancy. After 5 months of pregnancy one needs to change the position of male partner. Intercourse can be practiced in male standing position or sideways position. Male partner should not lie on the tummy or growing fetus.

1.Change positions Certain positions may put more pressure on the chest, causing shortness of breath. Experiment with those that allow you to remain upright during sex. Take your meds first If you take medications (such as a bronchodilator) before engaging in other types of physical activity, check with your doctor about doing the same before having sex. Tell your doctor Whether you've been diagnosed with asthma or not, your doctor needs to know if breathing problems (shortness of breath, wheezing, or coughing) are putting the brakes on intimacy. This is important information in terms of prescribing the best treatment Delay in menses could be due to hormonal disturbances due to anxiety, pain, med.

When I ejaculated sperm during intercourse, some sperm came out of my wife 1.for pregnancy does all the sperm need to be inside or not 2.is there chance to get pregnant as we did sex after 15 days of her periods 3. Sperm came out, is this normal scenario.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS

Even 1 sperm is enough for pregnancy so don't worry about sperms coming out. Plan intercourse from 11 to 18 th days of her menstrual cycle.

Hello dr, am 15 weeks pregnant women, I want to know the sleeping positions for this pregnancy time,

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Hello, The best sleep position during pregnancy is “SOS” (sleep on side). Even better is to sleep on your left side. Sleeping on your left side will increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby. Keep your legs and knees bent, and put a pillow between your legs. - If you find that you are having problems with back pain, use the “SOS” position, and try placing a pillow under your abdomen as well. - If you are experiencing heartburn during the night, you may want to try propping your upper body with pillows. - In late pregnancy you may experience shortness of breath. Try lying on your side or propped up with pillows. Left is best. Right now, side sleeping is safest for your baby. Plus, it's more comfortable for you as your abdomen grows. Is one side of the body better than the other for sleeping? Experts recommend lying on your left side. It improves circulation, giving nutrient-packed blood an easier route from your heart to the placenta to nourish your baby. Lying on the left side also keeps your expanding body weight from pushing down too hard on your liver. While either side is okay, left is best. These suggestions may not sound completely comfortable, especially if you are used to sleeping on your back or stomach, but try them out. You may find that they work. Keep in mind that you may not stay in one position all night, and rotating positions is fine. Also avoid sleeping on your back: This can cause problems with backaches, breathing, the digestive system, hemorrhoids, low blood pressure and cause a decrease in circulation to your heart and your baby. This is a result of your abdomen resting on your intestines and major blood vessels (the aorta and vena cava). Do not sleep on your stomach: When you are farther along in your pregnancy, your abdomen undergoes physical changes and makes it more difficult for you to lay on your stomach.
