I have a 4 year old son who has been suffering from pneumonia since last year he has also been treated at the hospital and the doctor gave him antibiotics after discharge. I always take him for regular check up and the doctor said that his condition has improved and that there's nothing I should worry about but he always gets recurrent cough and cold and sometimes fever. I'm worried I don't know what else should I do? most of the time he's always on medication. And the doctor said that repeated x ray more than twice a year is not recommended. What else should I do to find out the reason of his condition. Please advise.

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
As any other mother you are little more worried about your son. These things are common till the age of 5 years, believe your doctor and have peace yourself. See if he is playing and growing. Enjoy being with him rather than worrying. Leave it to doctor about his health, follow his advice, and just take care of son's emotional well being.

First of all do not force to eat. Offer food frequently and different things and if possible in different forms. Decrease milk intake and let him be hungry for sometime.

Some kids have stranger fear. It is quite normal. Gradually expose your kid to strangers and outside atmosphere. You need to desensitise it slowly. The child will definitely come out of fear for strangers. Just give a reassurance to the child that she is safe and secure.

Give him every item available in home suitable to baby's age except milk or its product which can be substituted by soya milk which is rich in protein and calcium.

We are new Dad and Mom and our child is 4 weeks old. My wife could not get enough milk through breast feeding. Which fruit/food will help to get milk and keep her strong?

Both of you need to be confident. Enjoy, you are blessed with a bundle of joy. Don't worry about milk secretion, it will be always enough. If she is passing seven eight times clear watery urine and gaining weight about 500 to 700 gms per month then she is getting enough feeding. For first couple of weeks child may lose some weight. The food she enjoys most is fine for her. Happy and confident mother will serve the best interest of the child. Remember cry doesn't necessarily mean child is hungry, most of the times it means child wants your attention. Talk to her like a friend.

Y can not you doctors understand I am saying na I am nit having milk suggest some ways to feed my baby through bottle.
As per national policy and scientific evidence we only recommend breast feeding upto 5-6 months. Thereafter continue breast four times and start on cereals based soup, cooked at home. Bottle never come feeding schedule.
