Prostate is enlarged in size, interfaces are clear. No calculus or any focal SOL is seen. Prostate gland measures : 4.0 CMS * 3.6 CMS* 3.3 CMS. Prostatic wt - 25 gms. What to do. It can be diagnosed by medicine. Or not . Please help.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Ghaziabad
The size is enlarged, but along with size of prostate two other things are also required psa and post voidal urine. Most of the times the size increase is harmless until it puts pressure on some structure and create problem. You can consult a homoeopathic physician for the rationale treatment.

What is the remedy if the prostate glans got enlarged and galbladder stone of 20mm in urine bladder?

MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Delhi
Treatment of prostatic enlargement depends upon the severity of disease. In initial stages medication is prescribed but in significant enlargement or in case of medication failure, surgical removal of prostate is done. The second part of your question is misleading as gall stone and urinary bladder stone are two different entities. How ever for gall stone of any size, and urinary bladder stone of > 10 mm, surgery is the treatment of choice.

I have gone some laser treatment to get rid of my acne because of that I get black color in my face, it was for past 3 years, what treatment is needed to get rid of this black color and also having black head and eye circle.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
Dark circles are mostly due to habits. Avoid rubbing eyes. Get allergies tested. If you have refractive errors, get it checked and corrected. Avoid eye cosmetics and chemicals. Shampoos that seep down to eyeswhile bathing can contribute to this, so don't let it accumulate. Food should b supplemented with iron capsules. Have green leafy vegetables and jaggery in plenty. Overtime with computers, laptops, television, can increase the chances of darkness around eyes. Get your hb checked. Catch a good six hour sleep everyday. Relax and destress with yoga, meditation, prayer.

. Homoeopathy has good treatment for your problem without causing adverse effects. The medicines work internally, tackle the root cause of the problem unlike face cream which is a surface treatment. Take Antim crd 200—once daily in the morning.

I have always had clear skin and never really experienced break outs during teenage as well. I am now 24 years old, and have noticed these white bumps on certain areas of my face. There are a lot of them around the eyebrows, high cheeks, side burns etc. Along with this, I am experiencing some itching and red bumps too. What could the cause of this be?

MD AYU, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Jaipur
Actually you are describing the milia dear. They are small round white bumps that usually happen on the head and neck. These are common in infants and in adults. In adults, they are often a sign of chronic sun damage. These are tiny cholesterol deposits that accumulate with age. They look similar to a white heads, or pimple-like bumps.

Sir I want to ask you that over a few years ago I was infected by chicken pox so by this infection I got some scars on my face. So can you tell me that how to remove that scars?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Chicken pox marks can easily be controlled by implementing below given methods in your life style.Being a homoeopath I will suggest you a cream alongwith which will help you along with this natural applicators. • Tomato and Lemon Juice. These fruits have natural bleaching properties which greatly reduce and whitens black spot marks. To use, simply apply a small amount using a cotton applicator (Q-tip). Apply the juices on the dark spots only and avoid touching the surrounding skin especially if you have a darker complexion. You don't want to bleach the surrounding skin.. • Aloe Vera. The aloe Vera is one of the most effective natural remedy to remove black spots caused by chicken pox. The aloe Vera efficiently nourishes the skin and enhance the regenerative properties of the skin. To use, simply apply the aloe Vera gel on your skin.

If your skin is acne prone, you will tend to develop dark spots too. Both conditions can be well treated. Ointments for acne work well along with skin lightning creams. For long term benefits peels or dermaroller treatment is highly recommended. These help both conditions acne and spots. Treatment can be given on further disscussion.

To lighten the appearance of stretch marks – 1.Scrub the area lightly once a day. Apply this cream daily to see results in few months. 6.Consume diet that is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 and other skin friendly vitamins like vitamin E and A. 7.Keep yourself hydrated. Melasma - Causes And Treatment

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS
Dermatologist, Gurgaon
Melasma - Causes And Treatment

A common skin condition, which causes the discoloration of your skin in patches across the face, melasma is more of a social embarrassment and cause for distress rather than being a serious condition. Although it affects men as well, studies have shown that over 90 percent of patients are women. It is also known as the mask of pregnancy as many pregnant women develop this skin condition.

Causes of Melasma - Primary causes of melasma have been attributed to various hormonal changes within the body. Let's look at some of the factors that may cause this disorder:

1. Pregnancy: This is often attributed as the leading cause of melasma, the primary cause has often been attributed to hormonal changes that a woman may experience due to pregnancy.

2. Treatments that may change hormonal balance: Women on contraceptive pills or who have implants such as intrauterine devices may also develop this disorder. This is due to the balance of estrogen and progesterone being changed within the body.

3. Sun exposure: Continued sun exposure may also lead to melasma. This is due to the activation of melanocytes within the body which start producing more melanin.

4. Stress: Long periods of stress on the body can also trigger hormonal changes and cause melasma.

5. Thyroid problems: If someone suffers from Hypothyroidism or low levels of the thyroid hormone, it can trigger other hormonal changes and also cause this skin disorder.
It has also been noticed that people with generally a darker skin tone tend to get melasma and it is less common in people with fairer skin.

Certain characteristics of Melasma - Melasma develops in certain patterns which can be easily diagnosed either as spots on the skin similar to freckles or brown patches of skin that grow bigger. Some of these patterns are:

1. Malar pattern: This grows on the nose and cheeks
2. Mandibular pattern: Starts growing around the jaw line
3. Brachial melasma: This grows on the upper arms and shoulders
4. Lateral cheek pattern: Grows on the cheek on both sides of the face
5. Centrofacial pattern: Nose, upper lips, forehead and cheeks

Treatment of Melasma
Most women who develop melasma during pregnancy report that it goes away after childbirth. However certain forms of melasma may appear in non-pregnant women due to hormonal changes. Treating the underlying hormonal changes usually resolves the problem. However certain other methods may be required to resolve the issues such as skin creams, chemical peels, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

I have dark black colour below the eyes, it is for two years and I used eumosone ointment, but it is not cleared. What should I do. It isd also near the lips, like round spots which is dry skin.

Homoeopathic treatment UNDER EYE CREAM ( BAKSON) Apply at night under the eye in circular fashion GLOWCARE DROPS ( LORDS) 20 drops in 20 ml freh water 3 times daily Take a good Iron rich diet likeApple,Pomegranate,Spinach nd all other green vegetables 2 glass milk daily 6-8 glass extra water daily Try to have a sound sleep HOME REMEDIES Slice up a papaya. Papaya fruit contains the enzyme papain. Papain helps exfoliate the skin, making way for new skin cells to emerge. Papaya also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E, so it's a dark spot fading superstar. Papain is most concentrated while the papaya is still green, but you can use riper fruit as well. Peel and remove the seeds from a papaya, and try one of the following treatments: 1. Slice a piece off of the papaya, and lay or hold it on the dark spots that you want to get rid of. Hold it there for 20-30 minutes. Repeat twice a day for best results. 2.Make a papaya facial mask. Cut the papaya into chunks, then use a blender or food processor to blend the fruit into a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, then rinse well.

My skin is oily type so in that washing my face with clean and clear face wash is good? Can this face wash make my skin attractive and glowing.

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian

Clean and Clear face wash is very harsh on the skin. Instead, use a mild cleanser like Tea tree Face wash and Toner twice a day. Also Drink Green tea 2-3 times a day. It is high in antioxidants which fight free radicals and prevent damage to the skin from the inside. Eat fruits and vegetables high in Vitamin C and drink a lot of water throughout the day.
