Wisdom Tooth

Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics
Dentist, Cuttack
Wisdom Tooth

Wisdom tooth eruption most often leads to little pain and discomfort. If you suffer such problem, prefer to go to a dentist to know the position of the tooth. They are mostly tilted or remain inside. They never help in chewing. So we suggest to extract it to prevent any damage to the adjacent tooth due to it.

Sir, I have undergone Flap Surgery. One teeth broken above surgery portion. Half of the teeth is there. Nowadays there is pain in the teeth extreme right above. Whom I have to consult and what is the treatment.

Dentist, Mohali
Consult a dentist, get a xray done. You might be required to get root canal treatment done or extraction of teeth can be a option if it is badly decayed or broken.

Sometimes I do feel blood in my throat when I wakeup in the morning. When I spit, it doesn't show much much reddish. A very light reddish saliva came today and once only. When I spit again nothing comes up in saliva. What could be the reason for it. Pls suggest.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
This is due to lack of hydration inyour diet, start taking less spicy and less salty food, take fresh fruits, shakes, juices, iron rich diet, honey, no salt water gargling, this will subside your symptoms.

Here Is the Solution To Broken Tooth

BDS
Dentist, Ghaziabad
Here Is the Solution To Broken Tooth

The treatment will depend on how severely the tooth was damaged.
Breaks can range from small chips to major fractures, so you might need a major procedure, a minor adjustment or no treatment at all.
A tooth has three layers: the enamel is the hard outer shell, the dentin is found under the enamel, and the pulp, which is the nerve centre, is at the core.
Minor chips are common, and involve loss of some enamel. Usually, little or no pain is felt,
But if enough tooth enamel is lost the dentin may be exposed which might cause sensitivity to cold.
The most severe breaks expose the pulp, which can cause extreme pain and even bleeding.
If you have a small chip in your tooth, make a routine dental appointment, and try an over the counter pain medicine for sensitivity as long as it is safe for you to take it.
More serious fractures should be evaluated immediately. Rinse your mouth out with warm water, cover the break with a piece of clean gauze to protect it, and see the dentist as soon as possible. Apply an ice pack to minimize swelling if your mouth or lips were injured, and avoid using aspirin for pain because as it increases the risk of heavy bleeding.

Even if your tooth is only slightly chipped, the dentist is probably going to take an x-ray of the damaged tooth and recommend being gentle with it for a few days.
A minor chip can often be smoothed out or repaired with white filling material, often without anesthetic.
Even when a break is severe, a tooth can almost always be saved with a permanent crown if the pulp is not damaged.
Postponing a crown or replaced filling that has been recommended can place the tooth at risk for a much more serious fracture- perhaps one that cannot be repaired. On those occasions when a tooth must be removed after a fracture, there are several options available for replacing the missing tooth – an implant is often the ideal choice for many people because it provides a permanent solution with a natural appearance.

My molar tooth has been pluck out on 28/4/2017 since then there is an excess swelling and pain there.

BDS
Dentist, Mohali
You can apply ice pack on the swelling for 3-4 minutes not more than twice a day. This will decrease swelling. Rinse your mouth with warm saline (salt) water 3-4 times daily after meals. Take the prescribed medicine on time. If pain persists then you should visit the dentist again.

There is a wide range of amount for the treatment that can be finalised only after you visit a clinic. Because there only a proper treatment can be planned.

I have pain in right lower wisdom tooth since 6-7 months because its horizontally.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Get it removed because as you say it has no scope to erupt and will keep exerting pressure on adjacent teeth.

My mother has 6 infected teeth. One tooth is causing the maximum pain. After aceproxivon, ketorol DT (10 mg), antacids, antibiotics (for 3 weeks), the pain hasn't subsided. She has been prescribed tooth extraction but with this excruciating pain, the tooth is not being extracted too. Every night, post midnight, the pain shoots up. Even sleeping pills do not work. No pain killers have any effect. She has been complaining of a pain that feels like breaking her skull open originating from one infected tooth on the upper right jaw. For more than two weeks, she is sleepless. Please help!

BDS, MDS Pedriatric dentist
Dentist, Guwahati
Hi if the patient has being on antibiotics for 3 to 5 days then there is no reason why the tooth cannot be extracted as we can extract a paining tooth but not an infected tooth that too in some cases .A good antibiotics coverage followed by extraction is the only option which I can see according to your description.

Its good that you have cut down on smoking. Alcohol consumption is also quite dangerous in liver disease and may lead to alcoholic fatty liver followed by cirrhosis. Get vaccinated against hepatitis a and b. Take home cooked food and boiled/ro water as they may lead to liver infection.

Dairy products, soft breads, softer grains, sea food and soft meat, soft cooked vegetables and many more are braces friendly foods i.e. which can be eaten without any difficulty even when one is undertaking the orthodontic treatment.

I have Gingivitis and I get unfit for this in army during medical verification. So give me some helpful tips to cure this in between 20 days.

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
Gingivitis is the earliest form of gum disease that can resolve with good oral hygiene. Your dentist will evaluate your mouth during a dental cleaning appointment and removes any plaque and tartar that is building up on your teeth. When a person has gingivitis, the goal is to rid the gums of inflammation and restore them to a healthy pink color. Although you have been brushing your teeth for decades, the correct technique is most important. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and place it at a 45-degree angle against your gum line and massage the gums in a back and forth motion. Then, move the brush up and down and back and forth motion using short strokes to clean the outer and inner surfaces of your teeth and the chewing surfaces too. Be gentle with brushing. Spend at least two minutes brushing and replace your toothbrush when you see the bristles becoming frayed. Don't forget to rinse using warm water with salt. Vitamin c makes wounds heal faster. It may not cure the gingivitis itself, but this supplement will help bleeding gums to resolve.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis
Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

I am 45 years old and I have a history of chewing tobacco guthka of 25 years. I leave this from last 11 months 100 %. I am suffering from submucous fibrosis and my mouth opening is about 1 inch. What should I do?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Manish treatment is possible avoid green chillies, tomato seeds and supari. Go see a dentist. He might advice you biweekly injections for 5 weeks. This might cost you 3000-4000 in total. This treatment will considerably reduce the burning sensation and help improve your mouth opening a bit. Later you might be advised surgery for mouth opening. Go ahead with the treatment. Your condition can only improve from here. All d best ask if you have any other questions. Will be happy to help you
