I'm student of engineering n I am study for hours which make me feel I'll and my eyes almost burn and got headache. Please help.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
This can be due to stress, when your stress goes flying out the window stress is so all-pervading in this material world that everyone is tortured by it. Stress takes many forms. We are stressed by health problems, financial problems, interpersonal problems and many more. The solution for all varieties of stress is to understand that its underlying cause is bodily consciousness, the false identification of the self with the body. As soon as one realizes that he is not his body and that his real happiness is based on harmonizing his consciousness with the supreme consciousness, and he then learns the art of doing this, his stress goes flying out the window to be replaced with profoundly sweet transcendental bliss. - sda.

Please help me I am 11 years old and I am always on my I pad, tablet, laptop, TV. My mother always tell me to leave it or I have to wear specs. But I can' t leave my phone I am addicted. So how can I protect my eyes without leaving my phones? Like any time limits, exercises of eyes, how to wash eyes properly etc. How to take care of my eyes? Is it dangerous?

Constant use of digital screens are not good for your eyes and also other development. Chuck your phone, make some friends in the neighborhood and play some games (not video games) with them.

I had red eyes for over 3days and I also Felt ill so what can I do now can you tell me.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.

hello...i think u have allergic conjunctivitis..Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is to avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem.Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. this will help u

I have red eyes since 1 year n I have no irritation n sight problem.. The thing is only red color why? N what I shld do to get them white.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T.V., working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter. Also, visit an Opthalmologist as it's been 1 year you are having red eyes.

Pain and watering of eyes can be due to many reasons and the main reasons are 1.Eye Allergy due to dust,Pollution, infection 2.Weak Eyesight 3.Continuous watching TV,Mobile, computor in dim light 4.Any eye injury 5.Lack of sleep 6.Continuous headache 7.Hypertension. So,my suggestion for you is either you give details of your eye watering reasons or visit a local doctor for an eye check up as a final examination can only be made after physical examination.

I am suffering from glucoma. There is any authentic treatment & can it be cured permanently.

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
There is no permanent cure, in that sense. But very good control can be achieved in majority of people by eye drops alone and very few people would need surgery. Without getting disappointed, just take care with your exact treatment and you can lead an almost normal life.

Sir I am 23 year old boy doing studies. I usually feel a headache. The ache mainly lies above my both eyebrows and on both corner of my forehead. I already checkup eyes n they are totally fine. So please suggest me how I got rid of this.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - if pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - if the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and if the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosis as the cause - if the pain is associated with either low or high bp or due to hyperacidity than we have to treat the cause after examination.

I want to get rid of my spectacles .Is there any cure give advice (rather than High protein diet).

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.
