Yes a six months old baby can suffer from constipation because of your eating pattern. As you are a lactating mother and you feed your child so you need to eat a proper and a healthy diet. Do not eat heavy dals at night try to eat more of fruits, vegetables etc. Do not eat junk food, refined cereals like maida, maggie, noodles etc. Team Nutrihealth.

My daughter is 3.5 years old but she has not started eating everything now can you help me for the same that she should start eating and she also eats chocolates more, also she is on feeding what are the ways to leave her feeding. Please help.

Fellowship In Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology And Nutrition, MD - Paediatrics, MBBS

If feeding you mean is breast feeding. Or bottle feeding. Stop it immediately. Stop chocolates. You can restrict it to once or twice in a wk. She is old enough to understand hunger. Keep her hungry and then give her healthy home made but interesting food. She will definitely eat.

SHe may have abdominal discomfort and bottle feeding has a lot of disadvantages and you give breast feed if you give other feeds give it with a spoon and not bottle.

Why Is Breastfeeding Is A Saviour For Your Baby & You | World Breastfeeding Week

Why Is Breastfeeding Is A Saviour For Your Baby & You | World Breastfeeding Week
Why is breastfeeding so good for your baby and you

Breast milk is the best for babies and the benefits of breastfeeding are one too many. Breast milk not only supplies your baby with its requirement of vitamins and nutrients, but also gets the substances which fight diseases, making your baby healthy and strong.
Benefits of breastfeeding are:

1. Protects Your Body - Breastfeeding induces some changes in your body which you might not be very delighted to accept, but are for the sake of your baby. Did you know, these very changes benefit you as well. Studies have proved that women who breastfeed are protected against breast and ovarian cancer. The longer you feed, the more protected you are.
2. Reduces Stress - Adding to the benefits of breastfeeding you can derive, is the fact that it helps you reduce stress. It also lessens your risk of postpartum depression. Breastfeeding has been found to be relaxing since it releases the hormone called oxytocin. This release also helps the uterus contract.
3. Averts Risk For Baby - A breastfed baby has lower risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
4. Reduces Obesity Risk In Baby - Breastfed babies have lower chances of obesity. They are good at judging when their tummies are full and therefore stop drinking on time. This leads to healthy growth pattern. Compared to babies who are fed on formula, breastfed babies gain weight at slower speed, hence reducing chances of obesity later in life.
5. Increases Cognitive Skills - Multiple researches have shown that there is a direct relationship between cognitive development and breastfeeding.
6. Enhances Baby’s Immunity - Breastfeed babies are also said to be better protected from developing allergies as immune factors like secretory igA is present only in breast milk. It creates a protective layer on the babys intestinal tract. Babies who aren't breastfeed are known to fall sick pretty frequently as formula diet doesn't build their immunity as mother's milk does.

Parenting Tip on behavioral management of kids
Children have never been good at listening to their elders but they have never failed to imitate them. Best way to effectively teach children something is by being a role model to your kid. Kids want to know there is a shared journey. Elders shouldn’t do the same stuff they deny.

As chances of falling and getting hurt are more with such carts doctors advise not to use such carts, as long as you are near and taking care you can use walkers but never leave children alone when using it. Using a walker will definitely help the child to walk soon.

Nasal drop is best drug here. Give saline nasal drop by entering the nozzle inside nostril and press it. The forceful flow will remove the congestion. If it's more then in market one nose suction bulb available use it. Otherwise dileys mucous sucker is best.

My son is about 6 years 6months old suffering allergy-asthma from approximately 3 years back. Budecort (100 mg) inhaler & levolin inhaler, montelukast 5mg is consuming everyday as per advice of doctor. Please suggest.

MD PULMONARY, DTCD
Pulmonologist, Faridabad
In my opinion combine budecart 100 with formetrol a long acting beta 2 agonist 200, to be given by spacer and reduce dependence on levolin inhalation. In good control asthmatics need of levolin inh. Should be nil /less than once/week. This combination is available in market with different name like budamate 100/200.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Vitamin D deficiency is quite common in infants and children. It can be corrected by giving Vitamin D3 liquid or drops. There are many brands available. Secondly my advise pleae take an X-ray of the knee and wrist of the child and take radiologist's opinion to see if there is problem with bone growth. Start Vit D supplements. Plus milk and exposure to sun also are helpful. Thanks.
