If a poison reaches its expiry date, would it be more poisonous or less poisonous?
Hello, its difficult to say though the efficacy would diminish but it will not be lost so a poison would still remain a prison even after expiry.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Insulin dose decided on the basis of blood glucose level both fasting and after food. Plus there are different types of insulins, it is not which one you are using. There are rapid acting and long acting insulins plus combination of both. It is given in units per dose, not as ml. Taking excess insulin is not advised. It causes hypoglycemia. Thanks.

Hello sir Mai pahle bhi aap logo se concerned kiya hun aap logo ka answer good hota hai Sir one thing me and my wife ...
no there's no medicines for genetic changes to increase height of the baby you can feed baby with a high protein balanced diet all through the growing years till age 21 for both girls and boys encourage exercises like swimming, basketball, rope climbing etc so that the muscles get stretched out and bring about the change of slight gain in height compared to the generic make up.

Grief And Loss - 5 Stages That You Go Through!

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Mumbai
Grief And Loss - 5 Stages That You Go Through!

Loss and grief are two unfortunate partners where the latter follows the former. While the type of grief or the nature of the loss may differ from person to person, there are five distinct stages of loss and grief that all people universally go through, when faced with such a situation.

Here are the five stages of this process and the different ways in which one can cope with each stage:

  1. Denial and Isolation: In this phase, the patient usually ends up blocking out the words as well as the thoughts and reactions that surround this sad event, which can lead to a numbing action of the brain. While we all do this in some measure during such situations, some people take it especially hard by acting as if nothing has happened at all. If this phase does not come to pass within a short frame of time, then psychological and medical intervention may be required.
  2. Anger: When a person begins to acknowledge the loss, there is a sense of unfairness which can lead to frustration and anger that is basically the way the person may be dealing with the re-emergence of the pain and the fact that it is here to stay. Therapy and sedation may be required if this frustration and repeated spells of tantrums carries on for a prolonged period. Do not hesitate to talk things out rather than flaring up at this point, as the unchangeable has already happened.
  3. Bargaining: In this phase, desperation enters the mind of the patient where a lot of 'what ifs' come up. The patient begins to question what if things had been done differently and other such aspects. If not dealt with in an engaging manner and with empathy, this phase can lead back to anger and frustration.
  4. DepressionPrivate mourning of the loss and regret to do with the practical aspects like loneliness and the cost of the loss can strike at this stage. Here, the patient must be made aware of rights as well as the people around him or her who can help out to prevent this depression from becoming a full-fledged condition.
  5. Acceptance: In this final stage, the patient becomes more accepting of this new reality. Yet, even this must be taken up cautiously as a grief stricken heart may lead to a variety of mental ailments in the long run.

The way to deal with these stages is with therapy and proper guidance where the patient is allowed to channel all the thoughts and anger before accepting the situation. Do not hesitate to ask for counselling and embrace the changes in your life without regret, guilt and depression. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Psychiatrist.

Dear lybrate-user, As per your height, your weight shall certainly be higher than it currently is. Also, you have not listed diet in detail such as, what is being included that you're considering proper diet. I hope you're consuming foods from all food groups that includes carbohydrates/proteins/fats/vitamins and minerals. Not sure if you're vegetarian or non vegetarian. Please try to eat good amount of protein in your body for strengthening your muscles and overcome the weakness. Eggs are very good source of protein and you shall have eggs everyday as their Net protein utilization is very good by the body. Other good sources of proteins are meat, fish and poultry, legumes and pulses. Others are soya bean, nuts and seeds. Milk, yogurt and cheese are good for you. Whole grain cereals, green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits shall be included in diet each day. Divide the protein foods as evenly as practical among all meals of the day. If you feel weak and cannot have proper meals a day then you could have small meals at few intervals. And not fill up yourself at one time. Some kind of exercise/yoga is also important to sustain a healthy living.

How is Paleo Diet Good and Bad For You

How is Paleo Diet Good and Bad For You

Paleo diet is one of those diets which have been gaining widespread popularity in the recent times. It has been touted by its supporters as the natural diet for human beings and also the diet that our ancestors used to consume. There is a lot of debate on its efficacy and it has its own set of advantages and disadvantages alike.

What exactly is a paleo diet?

The Paleo diet gets its name from the Paleolithic period of human civilization, thousands of years ago, where the availability and choices of food were varied and limited according to seasons. Most foods included lean meat, fruits, nuts, vegetables and were very different from the fast food, high sugar and saturated fat-based diet that humans are having now. This diet aims to go back to the basics to correct nutritional deficiencies as well as to try out to correct excesses of the modern diet.

Advantages of Paleo diet

  • Huge decrease in consumption of processed sugar
  • Normalization of blood pressure levels
  • Decreases in the level of bad cholesterol in the blood
  • Balance of protein intake due to limited and lean meat consumption
  • Increase in the consumption of vegetables and natural foods with less processed chemicals
  • Optimization of insulin within the body

Disadvantages of Paleo diet

  • Far too restrictive - Many believe that although it is a good diet, it loses out on the balance and becomes too restrictive with certain food groups being cut out completely, which may cause imbalances.
  • Excess of protein - Although Paleo diet cuts down on unhealthy fats, some of its ingredients may cause the consumption of too much protein which may not be good for health either.
  • Lacks of carbohydrates - Some believe that Paleo diet lacks carbohydrates and may not be a good source of energy. When working throughout the day, carbs provide energy but a low carb diet may cause energy-related problems.

I am suffering from diabetes for last 2 month please give me some treatment about this deasies.
The right thing for you is visit a doctor in person. There are many options to control and manage diabetes. Before you start on any treatment, correct your diet and lifestyle. Take up activity, yoga or any kind of exercise. Take time for yourself and find out what could have triggered your diabetes. In 99% of cases, some stressful event triggers onset of diabetes in a person. It is true for any disease for that matter and it has been proved each and every time in our clinics. Resolve that problem if you can. After having tried and tested various combinations of the above, if yet your sugar levels ars high, you can try homeopathy. We have been able to reverse the symptoms and reports and patients have gone back to no medicines - both allopathy and homeopathy. Give it a thought!

Hello, you can have dessert, it is fine to have one cheat day a week if you work out daily. The effect of work out will start to show in your measurements after one month, but in weight, it can take three months of hard work for the weighing scale to go down. Some people gain an extra kilo when they start working out, but the body is coming in shape. Weight loss is a big challenge and not everyone's cup of tea. If you are working out, just don't give up. You don't have to starve yourself, eat, but eat right. Count the calories everyday.
