Thanks for teaching me the difference between Fact and Faith: Fact is when any ordinary doctor diagnoses illness in a report. Faith is when good doctors like you give their patients the strength to recover.Amazing doctor....listens to patients very carefully and make sure evry problem is sorted out and suggest best possible way of treating patient.Never gets frustrated if we ask many questiins .Very very concerned about patient and really thinks that ots about the life of someone not like doctors who consider patients just a different "case" or "subject".She is a very good human being.May God bless her always!

I am 33 years old and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes around 6 months ago due to gums bleeding problem and suggested for flap surgery and performed this and when diagnosed my levels were 100/175 and after consulting doctor to control the level they have given glycomet 1Gm SR Mor and Night after food. After one week my levels dropped to 100/145. My father is also suffering with type 2 diabetes. I am non smoker and non alcoholic. My initial HBA1C was 7.9 when diagnosed and after medication it is 6.3 after 4 months. I am taking Glycomet SR 1GM twice morning and night right now is it still recommended to continue with the medicines or it may have any side effects for long run. My problem is that I have lost around 8 kg weight in last 4 months and now my weight around 85.5 and my height is 5’ 11’. Can I stop medication as am doing brisk walking for 1 hr daily and good diet control. I need to keep talking medication? Any suggestions to gain weight back?
Fact: Studies have shown that eating too much protein, especially animal protein, may actually cause insulin resistance, a key factor in diabetes. A healthy diet includes protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Our bodies need all three to function properly. The key is a balanced diet.
MYTH: You have to cut way down on carbs.
Fact: Again, the key is to eat a balanced diet. The serving size and the type of carbohydrates you eat are especially important. Focus on whole grain carbs since they are a good source of fiber and they are digested slowly, keeping blood sugar levels more even.
MYTH: You’ll no longer be able to eat normally. You need special diabetic meals.
Fact: The principles of healthy eating are the same—whether or not you’re trying to prevent or control diabetes. Expensive diabetic foods generally offer no special benefit. You can easily eat with your family and friends if you eat in moderation.
