Hye, Thanks for the query. For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - The sugar levels will fluctuate depending on what you ate or did not eat, stress levels and activity levels. You have to try and manage a balanced carb intake. Have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. You have to eat 3 main and 3 mid meals. Your diet must include whole grains, seasonal fruits, vegetables, small amounts of nuts and dairy and pulses or dals or lean meats like chicken or fish and egg. Starchy vegetables need to be planned into the diet. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Avoid exercise if sugar levels are above 250mg/dl. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well.            It's all a matter of discipline.

Hi I am 21 year old and I am suffering from thyroid. In this case what can I do? Because my wait also lost.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
The answer is homoeopathy. I do not force you for it but I will advise you to give it a try so as to get rid of life long medicines and that too without side effects. Although you may find it difficult to take regular doses of homoeo medicines daily as compared to one tablet of allopathic medicine that you are taking but the end with homoeopathic medicines is always fruitful and moreover you will be relieved of life long medicines and will be fully treated in 2-3 years depending upon your thyroid levels and amount of effort that you are putting in, if you get the right treatment in the hands of a right homoeo doctor----------so choice is yours whether to go with life long homoeopathic medicines and its side effects or homoeopathic medicines for 2-3 years without any side effects------------but we will discuss the above debate afterwards but first of all show me your blood reports depicting hyperthyroidism--------------

Hi at this age I won't recommend any medicine to increase weight without you seeing a doctor. If your height is exactly 5 feet (as mentioned), then you are underweight. There may be an important reason for that which must be found before any medicine is started. So please visit a doctor near you. Thanks.

Dear patient. You should take low carbohydrate diet as you are diabetic. Reduce rice or wheat product in your diet take more green vegetables and fresh fruits. But you also take 100 gms of carbs daily not more than that. Fruits like mango contain 15 gms carb & 60 calorie per 100 gms of wt. So you can eat 2-3 mangoes / week but not more than 3. Yup papaya or apple or guava or pear you can take. No dry fruits are high in calorie you an take 5-6 gms 3 days in a week. Avoid fried food, junk food that will elevate sugar level. Take small amount of foods every 3 hours intervals in a day. Do brisk walk for 40 min any time in a day. Thanks.
