I am 23 years old and have high prolactin level for a year and a half which goes above 50. I have to take vrainstar 0.25 mg daily to control it. Otherwise I dont get periods. Is there any other solution?

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Chennai
First we have to know why the prolactin levels are high. Just taking medications without ruling out the cause is not correct. After understanding the problem you may take treatment.

In general, you can follow-up with your doctor once a year for a pelvic exam, a mammogram and to reassess your need for ongoing hormone therapy.

However, you should see your doctor for re-evaluation sooner than your next yearly checkup if you develop or are diagnosed with:

Unexpected vaginal bleeding
Persistent menopausal symptoms
A blood-clotting disorder
Symptoms of heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease
Hormone-dependent breast cancer or another hormone-dependent cancer
Developing any one of these conditions may mean that hormone therapy is no longer recommended for you.

There can be indigestion, heartburn, impatience, swellings, more frequent urination, leg cramps anmd backache during thiss month Inorder to keep yourself fir and freefromthese above problems follow below give steps 1.Sweep and broom your room. 2.Try to broom if sweeping is not possible with your baby bump. It gives enough relaxation to your back , spinal muscles and bones. Your baby inside would have a ‘in a jhoola’ effect when you broom. 3.• Eat a well balanced diet consisting of oats, brown rice, rotis, green leafy vegetables, milk, fish, meat, eggs etc. 4.• Get plenty of rest. and sleep for 1-2 hrs every noon!! 5.• Have oily fish in your diet. Have it in a curry rather than fried. It is beneficial for the brain and nerve development in late pregnancy and for your baby’s birth weight. take fish curry every alternate day for lunch 6.• Take the supplements prescribed by your doctor. 7• Try to use the Indian toilet as gives you a squat position ,beneficial for you at the time of delivery 8• Be stress free. I know it’s not an acceptable term for you in your 9th month with all that curiosity, tension and impatience, but you can get a relaxing massage from your partner 9• Pray well everyday for a few minutes or an hour. It relaxes your mind and body. 10• You can take a bath with warm water in the evening or before you get to bed Have a happy and safe 8th and 9th month mummy to be

Hesitating to ask this question. Being a bit immodest person I go ahead with this question. How frequently can a women take i-pill? In a month or in a year? Just provide me a quantum?

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Agra
Hi i-pill is meant for emergency contraception. It should not be used as a regular contraceptive method. Once a month- a big no no. It should be used only in emergency when the other method is likely to fail.

Hello. I and my gf had sex on 7th april. And her periods had ended on 5th. So some people say it was safe time for sex as I feel sperm has entered her vagina. And I am in thought of giving her unwanted 72. But its not possible. Then how should I do? Want to avoid problems at any cost. Please help.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS, MD - Community Medicine
Gynaecologist, Lucknow
Hello it appears to be a safe period if she is having normal 28 days cycle with bleeding for 3-4 days. Now there is no point in giving the pills as 5 days have already passed.

Hi, doctor, I had a serious problem to discuss. Me and my girlfriend had sex several days. As long as I remember I haven't released sperm in her vagina. We had sex several days before again. This time I noticed something white sticked on my penis from her vagina but then too I gave her I-pills. At that time she was about to be in her periods. Eveytime she comes in her periods before the date. 13-03-17 is her period date but she is not in her period still. I am going to have pregnancy test today. If test is positive, what should I do so that mine and her parents don't come to know. Please guide for proper way.

MD - Alternate Medicine, Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (H.M.D.)
Homeopath, Delhi
First of all please Do not use I pill as contraceptive. Since this is an emergency pill only and can have severe side affects on your partner. If at all you are going for pregnancy test please wait for 40 days from last monthly period for confirmatory test. Even if pregnant do not undertake any drastic and unethical steps which may compromise her health For any further solutions you may personal message me.

I have done sex with her without condom and 4 to 5 days past. But I don't want her to be pregnant. What I will do? Which medicine I will give to her?

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), PGDHHM, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
There is nothing you can do right now except to wait for her period. If she misses her periods by 5-7 days, then take an pregnancy test. If the test is negative, repeat the test in another 7 days time. If again negative, you can safely consider that she is not pregnant. If the result is positive,
