I am a 26 year old male. Lately I've been feeling unhappy, I have a good paying job, a good girlfriend, family but despite all this I don't feel the energy and happiness I used to feel. My mind is on a constant thinking mode and it never stops, I don't sleep well I don't feel like eating much (less than how it used to be earlier). My head feels heavy and I never feel fresh and not energetic. Also I don't feel anything, I feel numb to most of the things around me. Is it depression or any other r disease? How can I be normal? Hi, Its is advised you show yourself to a psychiatrist your symptoms point out towards mild depression and it has nothing to do with having everything going perfect in life. It can happen to anyone just like BP, Sugar etc. The earlier its treated the better it is. Apart from that consult a psychologist for psychotherapy who will help you to manage your stress as a result of depression. I would like you to practice Mindful Breathing The primary goal of mindful breathing is simply a calm, nonjudging awareness, allowing thoughts and feelings to come and go without getting caught up in them. Sit comfortably, with your eyes closed and your spine reasonably straight. Bring your attention to your breathing. Imagine that you have a balloon in your tummy. Every time you breathe in, the balloon inflates. Each time you breathe out, the balloon deflates. Notice the sensations in your abdomen as the balloon inflates and deflates. Your abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the out-breath. Thoughts will come into your mind, and that’s okay, because that’s just what the human mind does. Simply notice those thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing. Likewise, you can notice sounds, physical feelings, and emotions, and again, just bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to follow those thoughts or feelings, don’t judge yourself for having them, or analyse them in any way. It’s okay for the thoughts to be there. Just notice those thoughts, and let them drift on by, bringing your attention back to your breathing. Whenever you notice that your attention has drifted off and is becoming caught up in thoughts or feelings, simply note that the attention has drifted, and then gently bring the attention back to your breathing. It's okay and natural for thoughts to enter into your awareness, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing. Practice it daily 15 minutes morning evening or whenever your consciousness is clouded with thoughts.

I am 21 year old male. I am having sleeping disorder. I can't have a sound sleep. I feel sleepy whole day and can not utilize my day time. I try to sleep around 11 in night but never fall asleep before 12.30. I wake up around 7.30 in morning but never feel refreshed always want to stay asleep. After having lunch I can't control myself and feel so sleepy that I just keep lying on bed. I try to take a nap but I don't fall asleep. I feel like I sleep for 5-6 hours a day but waste 10-11 hours on bed doing nothing. Sometimes it feels like insomnia and I can't sleep at all. Please give me any advice. Is it habitual or some disease?

1. You may be having anxiety or stress. Avoid stress. 2. You need 7-8 hours of sound sleep to remain healthy. 3. Go for regular exercise, Take part in games and sports, 4. Do yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise like pranayama to calm your mind, control your emotion, relieve anxiety and improve concentration. 5. Adhere to a specific sleep time and regular schedule 6. Take light dinner. 7. Avoid taking tea/coffee at bed time. Have a glass of warm milk at bed time. 8. Don’t go to sleep immediately after dinner. Take a small walk after dinner and if possible take hot water bath before sleep. Read a light magazine or interesting book before going to bed 9. Avoid late night. 10. Don’t sleep in day time 11. Don’t take sleeping pill 12. If no relief consult doctor.

I am 53 years old male affected by a stroke (left hemiplegia) five months before and now under rehabilitation. Whether this stroke is curable and shall I become 100% normal like before stroke? I am doing physical exercises, walking and oil massage. Is any other therapy recommended, like VARMAM?

Tia is a warning sign of stroke. So you have to worry but not that much. I understand about your phobia about getting again same problem but dear if you maintain yourself and take some precautions then chances are very less. Please make sure: 1. If you are overweight try to reduce. 2. Brisk walking daily for 30 minutes. 3. Cardiovascular exercises daily for endurance and strength and to make your heart fit. 4. Regular intake of excess water in your diet. 5. Avoid junk food, carbohydrates. 6. Take healthy diet that enrich you with proteins, vitamins. 7. If diabetic make sure sugar level should be maintained. 8. If hypertensive, make sure bp should not reach to too high or too low along with hr. 9. Avoid stressful life. 10. Meet some physio and learn daily exercises that will keep you fit and healthy along with some modification in your lifestyle. 11. Avoid fasting - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings. 12. Make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life. 13. Take min 7 hours of sleep. 14. Avoid taking caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine (found in chocolate and cheese), tyramine (found in nuts and fermented meats, cheeses, and soy), and aspartame (in many artificially sweetened foods) as sometimes these all exaggerate the condition. Instead use basil leaves tea or ginger tea boiled nicely in water without milk. Do not worry about getting tia / cva. If you keep yourself relax and avoid stress you will be healthy and then no disease no tia.

I got paralytic attack few months back though it is minor but the control of left hand is very less also mobility has reduced as I am unable to walk because of weakness also stammering is visible while making any pronunciation what kind of medication I should take including physiotherapy.

Stroke is very uncommon in young. You need to undergo detailed assessment to find the cause of stroke and then treatment can be given. Consult a neurologist in person.

Hi, I am here to help you. Most causes of sleeplessness are due to wrong habits and the good news is that it is very very easy to cure them 1. You have to first have a natural circadian rhythm a. Try to go to sleep and get up at the same time every day. B. And wake at the same time 2. Food a. Do not take coffee or tea after 6 pm b. Milk can be taken 3. Light a. Cover the windows and doors with curtains and avoid light b. Avoid watching tv lying in bed c. Avoid mobile phones / tablets 4. Exercise a. Walk for 45 minutes after dinner b. Take a bath after that hope you found the answer helpful. Try the above simple techniques for two weeks and let me know how much you have improved take care.

Is it meningitis curable with HREZ treatment. My dad given by 24 injections then att tablets. During the treatment faced seizure also. But is there any specific tablet for curing meningitis. Or should I have to take att for long time ?

It appears that your father is suffering from tubercular meningitis. It take at least 9 months to a year time to be cured. It is a serious kind of tb infection which may cause seizure, coma or death. Kindly follow your doctors advise seriously, do not ever miss a dose of medicine, otherwise the tb will become resistant. I wish your father all the best.

You can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) I am giving some health tips for Migraine headache •1.You can turn off light for some time •2.Apply hot or cold compresses to your head or neck. •Ice packs have a numbing effect, which may dull the sensation of pain. •Hot packs and heating pads can relax tense muscles. •3.Warm showers or baths may have a similar effect. •4.You can take Tea or coffee( but not excess) 5.Sleep well Here are some tips to encourage sound sleep. Establish regular sleep hours. •Minimize distractions. •Your eating habits can influence your migraines. •Be consistent. Eat at about the same time every day. Don't skip meals. Fasting increases the risk of migraines Avoid foods that trigger migraines Meditation This problem can be solved by Meditation, i can give you address of rajyoga meditation center near your house Consult Physician/me for further management

My nephew aged 11 years, has seizure since last month. Doctors diagnosed it epilepsy. We started medicines but seizures occurs on every 2 & 3 days. Mostly during seizure his eyes goes upward and his body has vibrates as electric shocks. Once after seizure his body shocked many times. We asked him what is this. He said my nerves are jaults from inside. We want to know is it epilepsy or not. What should we do at the time of seizures. Eagerly waiting for your reply. At this time he is taking 2 medicines named valparin 200 & levecitram. Thanks.

The description provided by suggests that your nephew has epileptic seizures; however, one point - when he says my nerves are jaults from inside' make this sound false. Please find out this: is he aware of his surroundings even when he has whole body jerking, or jerking on both sides of the body? if his body is jerking on both sides but he maintains awareness or is able to interact, then it is highly likely that it is a pseudo-seizure. Since he is only 11 years old, this may be due to situational anxiety. If he loses awareness during the fit, or if they involve only one half of his body, then it may be a true epileptic seizure. And the final answer can only come from an eeg which is done at the time when the episode is going on - which is not always possible! hence, we must always keep our minds open, make multiple observations, perform several eegs, treat with the presumption of epilepsy (giving benefit of doubt), and so on.For further assistance you can concern me privately.

It's normal as 90% of males engage in that act but you should not do it excessively as it may hamper your routine work and also you should not do it in the public area. Try to engage in other mind diverting activities like reading, writing etc.
