My son is 26 year old. He got internal injury in right knee n there was sprain. Dr. Has given some pain killer and advise mri. Mri report shows-1. Interstitial tear/mucoid degeneration involving anterior cruciate ligament. 2. Grade 1 signal of medial n lateral collateral ligament 3. Grade 1 signal in the posterior horn of medical meniscus. 4. Moderate joint effusion. Kindly advice whether surgery is must. Or ayurvedic medicine will help. Awaiting your early reply.

Hello, there are many causes for swollen lymph nodes of throat/ neck. Want to know more details like since when he is having this problem? Is he also having fever? What is the pattern of fever? Does fever rises in any time of the day/ night? Sweats with fever? Is there recent throat or cold infection? Or dental problems? Any recent loss of weight? Send me all the details which he is having along with the swollen lymph nodes.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned neck pain as only problem. Since you are very young, if you have only localized neck pain with no other associated symptoms like radiating pain in upper limbs, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping and neck ergonomics - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. We will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi if you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know in a week time how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine (ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a self limiting disease. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! Any way take IBUPROFEN 200mg OD & SOS x 5days Caldikind plus (Mankind) 1Tab ODx10days You will need other supportive medicines also. Do knee exercises It may have to be further investigated Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem. In established cases of Rheumatoid arthritis DMRD ( disease modifying drugs)egMETHOTRAXATE ,HCQS ,LEFUNOMIDE, SAAZ etc. have to be used. They all are toxic drugs & can cause bone marrow depression along with other side effects.They should be taken under medical supervision.

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.
