I have psoriasis since one month have few red small patches on led. Please do help

Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Psoriasis is manageable, the traditional approach is to start with the mildest treatments topical creams and ultraviolet light therapy (phototherapy) and then progress to stronger ones only if necessary. The goal is to find the most effective way to slow cell turnover with the fewest possible side effects coupled with a dietary therapy specially designed to manage psoriasis. Researchers found several studies linking obesity to an increased risk for psoriatic disease. These studies indicate that a higher body mass index (bmi) is associated with an elevated risk for developing psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as increased disease severity. Obesity may provide the nudge that triggers psoriasis in people who are already predisposed to it, liao said. Previous research suggests that the development of psoriasis could be influenced by the interaction between bmi and certain gene mutations. Researchers also found that in overweight individuals, losing weight may improve the effectiveness of treatments. Fat cells secrete cytokines, which are proteins that can trigger inflammation, explained liao" so if you lose weight, you may be reducing fuel for the fire" do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan including dietary therapy.

Piles or Hemorrhoids develops due to the thickening of veins in the anus causing the swelling and itching in the rectum and anus. Any one suffering from piles feels severe pain while passing stools and it's annoying. Avoid foods which are hard to digest instead include foods that improve digestion like probiotics. The ideal diet for piles sufferers must be high in fiber rich foods including leafy vegetables, salads, unpeeled fruits, and soybean etc. As well drinking plenty of water to avoid constipation. During Piles avoid, minimize or eliminate high carbohydrate foods as well as high fat and very high protein foods, should probably be completely avoided. Spicy foods are best avoided. Prime goal of diet is to get strain-free and smooth motions so that further damage is not caused. Take a look at the healthy food to cure piles naturally. Vegetables and fruits can be consumed either as salads (steamed or Raw) or in the form of veggie soups or juices. Avoid junk foods.

To know the whole things you have to understand basics of medical science. As of stopping medicine, pl do not think of it. Having been dependent on such drugs for three decades, you can't switch to other things suddenly and that too at this stage. When chemical diuretics are given (in HTN/ oedema/ renal problems etc), electrolyte depletion takes place as a side effect such as potassium depletion etc which is again supplied through potassium drugs. This vicious cycle goes in. Here Ayurveda is different. SLOW but natural. Diuretics are such that there would not be electrolyte imbalance/ depletion. But this doesn't mean that allopathy is bad. It has wonderful life saving developments to its credit. On the other hand Ayurveda's stress on lifestyle and natural medicine has wonderful results but its limited too esp in critical life conditions. Need is to respect both approaches where needed. It has to be understood by both ailing humanity and medical fraternity. I would suggest you to gradually supplement your mother's treatment with herbals for introducing little comfortable life ahead without compromising on medical facilities. If agree, pl consult with more details.
