Everybody burped around me or after talking to me, making me think I may have some kind of serious bad breath. Please tell me what might go wrong, I'm pretty frustrated.

BDS, Master of Hospital Administration

dry mouth could be a reason for bad breath bad breathe is due to the malodorous gases being formed by the bacteriae and food that we consume. thus scaling and a good precise prescription of drugs could be of help.

Cavity in tooth. And sometimes it pain very badly. What should I go for rct? or tooth extraction? please suggest.

MDS Prosthodontics
Dentist, Mumbai
Only after clinical examination and possibly xray can one decide whether a cavity can be restored with a simple filling or requires a root canal. Tooth extraction is the last option only if no other measures are possible.

- It is usually found that the occurance of dental caries and gum diseases are more common in diabetic patients.
- Studies shows that untreated dental problems mixed with diabetes can cause damage body organs.

Diabetic dental care:
 - Brush twice daily, if possible brush after each meal.
 - Do dental checkups every 6 months.
 - Do not let calculus, tartar deposit on your tooth, if needed get it cleaned immediately.
 - Use teeth and gum care medicine as prescribed by doctor.

Before undergoing any dental treatment procedures, inform the doctor if you are diabetic.

Got my rct done for one tooth 3months back. Also have a broken tooth next to the tooth with rct. Still pains and have got the filing broken. A doc advised me to see only an orthodontist and implantodist. They will be able to do it in a better way. Kindly advise. With someone who can see this.

PGDHHM, BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
After a root canal treatment, it is advised to get a crown or cap done. If the tooth filling has fractured, or the rct has failed, get a x ray done to access the damage, and re- treatment may be advised.

I am suffering from tooth pain when I am chewing gutkha, please suggest me what to do and how I could be stay away from gutkha.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Pune
Hello, first of all you should stop habit of gutkha chewing. Gutkha chewing may cause oral potentially malignant lesions and ultimately cancer! thus, advised you to get oral checkup and clinical examination done by oral pathologist/oral physician. Will power and medicinal intervention could help you for de-addiction, thus get consultation done at authorised deaddiction centre run by the qualified person. They do counselling and may prescribe you non nicotine/ nicotine replacement therapy to curb addiction.

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
There are some cinditions which cause pain like cavities, gingivitis, abcess tooth, and fracture. Its important to find out the cause of pain to decide the treatment. You need to go for investigation and diagnosis to rule out the cause of pain.

it might be your cheek mucosa coming between the teeth while closing of mouth sometimes prolonged biting of mucosa leads to fibrosis of mucosa. get your fractured tooth extracted or if it can be saved go for rct or post and core then capping take antibiotic therapy your cheek mucosa will be recovered or if it is not cured then surgical removal of fibrosis depending on clinical conditions
