If your baby is bottle fed you need to stop bottle and give breast milk and feed formula and other feeds with spoon and the crying may be colicky pain which is aggravated by bottle

Everyone needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily, but some can do with lesser. As long as your child is comfortable and not irritable when he is awake it is fine.

My son is14 years old and still he has problem of bed wetting what should I do for him.

MD - Homeopathy
Pediatrician, Mumbai
You can start with first restriction of any liquid intake 2hrs before bed time. He has to be trained daily by telling him to get up at night as the alarm rings. This will train his brain as alarm techniques really work very well to control bed wetting and can also start with bladder exercises to tone the bladder muscles.

My baby is 8 months old. I started to give oats to my baby. Is it good for my baby? I give homemade cerelac and ragi porridge.

My baby is 8 months old. I started to give oats to my baby. Is it good for my baby? I give homemade cerelac and ragi ...
Oat is a whole grain food, rich in fiber, iron, zinc etc. Ragi -rich source of Calcium. So, I think you r giving good cereals but you have to add required fat, protein rich diet along with fruits/juice. Stick to home based diet (blended with cereals, pulse, milk, banana etc.)

My son who is 8 years of age is having a problem of bed wetting. My doctor suggested tab minirin for 2 months. Shall I go for it. Is it 100% curable. Are there any side effects.

BHMS, Diploma in Dermatology
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Bed-wetting — also called nighttime incontinence or nocturnal enuresis — is involuntary urination while asleep after the age at which staying dry at night can be reasonably expected its not advisible to provide medicine online.

Please suggest Treatment for white germs in stomach (nuli purugulu in telugu) for my children one is 5+, and another one is 7+ and dosage.

My baby girl was born on 3rd october premature at 32 weeks. She was in NICU for 3 weeks due to infection. Her OAE test results REFER however the child responds to sound of rattles. When the child cries and we use rattle to soothe her she stops crying instantly Please suggest of she has hearing loss.

Apparently she has no hearing loss. But the OAE test detects the loss of hearing to serai frequencies and may repoat it at a later stage he 4 types of otoacoustic emissions are as follows: Spontaneous otoacoustic emissions (SOAEs) - Sounds emitted without an acoustic stimulus (ie, spontaneously) Transient otoacoustic emissions (TOAEs) or transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to an acoustic stimuli of very short duration; usually clicks but can be tone-bursts Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to 2 simultaneous tones of different frequencies Sustained-frequency otoacoustic emissions (SFOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to a continuous tone. Pure-tone (PT) audiometry measures throughout the outer ear, middle ear, cochlea, cranial nerve (CN) VIII, and central auditory system. However, OAEs measure only the peripheral auditory system, which includes the outer ear, middle ear, and cochlea. The response only emanates from the cochlea, but the outer and middle ear must be able to transmit the emitted sound back to the recording microphone. OAE testing often is used as a screening tool to determine the presence or absence of cochlear function, although analysis can be performed for individual cochlear frequency regions. OAEs cannot be used to fully describe an individual's auditory thresholds, but they can help question or validate other threshold measures (eg, in suspected functional [feigned] hearing loss), or they can provide information about the site of the lesion. Using current technology, most researchers and clinicians find a correlation between frequency-specific analysis of TOAEs/DPOAEs and cochlear hearing loss. However, at this juncture, the correlation cannot fully describe auditory threshold. Naturally, a correlation would not be expected for noncochlear hearing loss.

Hi My daughter who is 28 days old do potty every time after feed about 20 - 22 times a day. Would you please suggest any medicine or treatment. Our neighbour suggest one medicine called Z&D DS 20 should you recommend this or any other medicine.

MBBS, FELLOWSHIP IN PAEDIATRICS
Pediatrician, Ghaziabad
Hi My daughter who is 28 days old do potty every time after feed about 20 - 22 times a day. Would you please suggest ...
Nope. This is normal in newborns. Some potty 20-22 times a day and some can do it once in 2-3 days. As pediatricians, we don't worry about baby's stool habit at this age but the urine output. If the baby is growing fine, active, taking feeds properly and urinating well which means that if you are using cotton nappies they need to be changed 8-10 times a day and if you are using diapers they need to be changed 6-8 times a day, if this is the case it means your baby is being adequately fed and there is nothing to worry. Please note that this is the scenario with the baby being breast fed. If your baby is on formula then please ensure your are using sterilized utensils to feed your baby.

My child age is 2 and a half year. Not interested in eating and always crying. Please suggest something.

My child age is 2 and a half year. Not interested in eating and always crying.

Growth in child results in usage of all nutritive elements. We are a nutritionally deprived nation. Vegetarian diet may also promote this. Hygiene and nutrition go hand in hand. I would have done this for my child. Ensure at least one if not two eggs a day. Please check for egg allergy. ALSO ensure multivitamins and frequent alpha 1A protein intake. Deworming would be required if suggested by doctor. Alpha 1 protection is animal protein. In case you are upset of now eating that please take multivitamins syrup and some supplement for extra protein in market. Fish chicken and egg are good for growth. I hope this is good enough for you.
