Hi Doctor, I am facing tongue infection from last 1 year and its very painful so please suggest me any medicine?

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Dear lybrate user, tongue infection/inflammation/burning can be due to several reasons like dry mouth, nutritional/vitamin deficiencies, bacterial/viral/fungal infections, anemia, dehydration etc. Consult your dentist for a checkup to know the exact cause. Drink plenty of fluids and water, consume fruits and vegetables, avoid fried & spicy foods and pay attention to good oral hygiene.

Using an appropriate tooth paste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Tooth pastes which contain flouride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.

BDS

Dear lybrate user, bleeding from gums on brushing or eating indicated poor oral hygiene and gum disease. Consult your dentist soon, get a professional cleaning/scaling done. Rinse your mouth 3-4 times daily with lukewarm water with a pinch of salt. Brush gently with a soft toothbrush.

I am 22 year old female, I got scaling done and now I am using chlorhexidine mouthwash it's causing blackening of my teeth. Please tell me how can I whiten my teeth now and how should I use it so that it doesn't cause blackening of my teeth.

BDS
Dentist,
Mouthwash you have to not use frequently, because it has a adverse effect on your teeth as you said. For whitning off your teeth you have to go for bleaching.

Dear sir. My upper front teeth have gap. How to recover the gaps. I was observed last 3 month. Pls send me solution for this problem.

Dentist, Gurgaon
If the gap is mild it can be closed by using veneers. If the gap is more the other option is to have braces.

My sis when she sleeps her teeth get vibrate and make noise like that katr katr. Is this a disease. If it is so what medicine should I give her. Please tell me.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Normally teeth chattering is due to stress. So first try to reduce it. She also needs a bite guard to wear while she sleeps to prevent damage to teeth. Visit your dentist at earliest.

Way to fight bad breath
1. Brush teeth twice a day.
2. Floss daily.
3. Brush or scrape your tongue.
4. Use a mouth rinse- mix of water and few drops of peppermint oil or rinse your mouth with black or green tea.
5. Visit your dentist regularly.
6. Quit smoking and avoid tobacco products.
7. Be sure to drink a sufficient amount of water.

All. Toothpaste have the same basic ingredients only flavouring agents differ n some add floor ride etc so actually it's your choice which ever you choose if your brushing technique is correct you get the desired results.

Hello -- what this sounds like to me most of all is an inflamed nerve (neuritis or neuralgia) along a nerve pathway, probably a cranial nerve, and may well be a sequel to or herald of a bout with shingles. If it is going to be shingles you'll know soon enough, as you'll have lesions (blisters most likely) start to show up along the nerve pathway where the pain is now. (anyone who's ever had chickenpox is at fairly high risk of eventually having a bout of shingles, as the varicella virus never really goes away, just lies dormant). On the other hand if you've had shingles before, even if you weren't aware of it, then what this may be is post-herpetic pain, which usually doesn't last more than a day, though it can become quite chronic in certain people. It really does sound like nerve pain, isn't the jugular, could however be a nerve that parallels the path of the jugular, possibly a branch of the xiii, ix or x cranial nerve. Each serves a different purpose and only the ix, which normally would also cause pain in the mouth or throat, is potentially serious if troubled. Since the pain starts in the ear it's probably a branch of the auditory nerve, the viii one, which can cause some pretty exquisite pain. This often responds to over-the-counter (otc) non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (nsaid) pain meds such as advil or aleve (ibuprofen or naproxen). Sometimes the pain is persistent and other measures are required to control it, but if it's the viii cranial (auditory) nerve or a branch of it, usually this will subside shortly on its own. It may also recur. Again, if you begin to notice small bumps turning to blisters (similar to chickenpox lesions) along the path of the pain, that would be shingles. At any rate it's not your jugular vein gone screwy on you. Shooting, stabbing, startling pain is almost always nerve pain, and if it originates in any part of the head (including the ear) it's usually a cranial nerve or at least a subsidiary of one. This is almost always a nuisance, but hopefully isn't announcing a new case of shingles (more often that pain comes after the blisters, sometimes before, though), and usually responds well to non-rx pain meds. If it continues or becomes worse, or if anything new happens, please follow up here with us. Good luck to you.

Hello doctor! I am feeling tooth pain. This is so painful. Please help me about tooth pain. I am using "Dectarain 500 mg" Is this good? Regards.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Only medicine won't help. For immediate pain relief dissolve 2 tabs of ketorol dt in half cup of water and drink it. And if pain is cavity related then get your root canal treatment done and if it is associated with wisdom pain then you will have to get it removed. In any case, only medicine won't help, consult dentist. Get sell soon.

Hello mam, you are aware of your problem, we would suggest you visit a dentist to start with your orthodontic treatment as it becomes more difficult to get good and faster results with age. The duration and cost of treatment is variable as there is a wide variety of materials available.

I have gums problem. I have used many toothpaste or oral mouth wash but no relief in moth problems.

MDS Pedodontics

Gum problems are mainly due to plaque or calculus (deposits on tooth surface). Getting a professional cleaning every 6 months is very beneficial. Consult a dentist to know more about your problem.
