Everyone wants bright white teeth, but be careful of some over-the-counter whitening systems. Speak to your dentist before trying one of these products.

Read carefully:

If you haven't had your teeth cleaned in the last 3 to 6 months you could be spreading infection to the rest of your body. Please prevent oral systemic health issues by getting your teeth cleaned regularly from your dentist or hygienist. According to the american academy of periodontology, several studies have shown periodontal disease to be associated with heart disease.

Unfortunately there is no "permanent" way to make teeth white. However these are some of the options You can try. 1. Scaling and polishing (teeth cleaning). This will not change the color of your teeth but will remove all hard debris on your teeth and will also help if you have bad breath. 2. Bleaching. This is a temporary non invasive, cost effective way to brighten your teeth. Results will last anywhere from 3 months to 6 months. 3. Finally Veneers. This option is very expensive, invasive and time consuming. However the results are permanant. You can choose the final color of your teeth. 4. Commercial you available tooth pages will not give you any significant visual results. Hope this helps.

Make sure you are brushing and flossing twice-a-day – every day! Flossing should be a part of your morning routine, and both brushing and flossing after dinner could even help you lose weight by discouraging bedtime snacking.

I'm facing cavities issue. It is mostly due to less saliva generation in the mouth. I had previously consulted one doctor and he just confirmed it but had no solution for it. I do not smoke or chew tobacco. I've no other disease or under any medication. I was NEVER treated with chemo. As far as I remember I'm facing this issue from at last 7 yrs. Do you have any suggestion on this? PS- I do take good care of oral hygiene (brush 2ce, floss, mouthwash - non-alcoholic)

Hello lybrate-user, thanks for your query. Well you seems to be suffering from condition known as xerostomia in which there is reduced salivary flow which in turn causes other proplems like cavities. Well there are salivary substitutes in market easily available in chemist shop. They help you to maintain proper hydration of your mouth. In addition to that you can counteract this condition by altering your diet. Eat lot of friuts drink good amount of water and avoid anything very spicy and alcoholic. I hope this would help you. Thanks and regards.

Hello sir my name is Dinesh dhakad I have yellow teeth problem last two months I am 23 year old boy what should I do ...
There are many causes of yellow or discolored teeth. A few of the most common: 1.Drinks: Coffee and red wine cause major damage to teeth.. But other drinks with high acidity, such as soda, juices and even sports drinks can cause staining on the teeth. Even white wine is not far behind in staining our teeth yellow, because its tannins and acidic nature wear away at the tooth enamel. These Acidic drinks lowers the Ph of teeth below 6 thus causing corrosive wear and tear of teeths. 2.Certain Foods: Colored candies, popsicles and other bright foods can cause staining over time. Think of it this way – if your tongue turns a bright shade of blue, chances are your teeth are getting some of that discoloration, too. Even healthy foods such as berries (blueberries, cranberries, raspberries) can stain teeth. Ketchup, curry and other sauces can cause staining problems over time, too. 3,Natural Aging Process: Quite simply, teeth yellow over time. It’s a natural part of the aging process that the white protective coatings wear down over time. So the longer you have your teeth, the more likely they are to become yellow or discolored. 4.Most of us are guilty of at least some of the above (and none of us can stop time). But the good news is that even if red wine is one of your vices and your teeth look yellower lately, there are things you can do to bring back the white. 5.How to make Teeth white (a)Avoid Certain Foods/Drinks When Possible: We’re not asking you to give up your morning coffee, just to reduce the intake of the above foods as much as possible. Sometimes simply being aware can help us make better choices. (b)Drink Water: After you’ve consumed a tooth-staining food or drink try to immediately follow it with a glass of water. Swirling water around your mouth can drastically help clear away the acids or staining. This simple step is free and easy, and can drastically help reduce tooth discoloration. (c)Proper Dental Hygiene: Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental checkups help keep teeth healthy for a lifetime. Develop these habits early and you’re less likely to have dental problems down the line. (d)Teeth Whitening: The good news is that there are many options available to whiten teeth. Some can be done at home while others can take help of Homoeopathic medicines. Homoeopathic medicine HEKLA LAVA TOOTH POWDER ( WHEEZAL) Scrub teeth daily night RINSEOUT ( SBL) Gargles 20 drops in 20 ml luke warm water.Gargles 3 times daily while holding water for 20 seconds in mouth esp.after meals.

Good morning,
While i'm in sleep i'm bitting tongue and got wakeup. Why this happens?
Biting the tongue while sleeping is not abnormal if it occurs once in a while. It is normal to accidentally bite your tongue while sleeping. However, if it becomes a frequent scenario, it is a problem that requires action. There are several reasons that may be the cause of biting your tongue when in sleep. One common cause is when your tongue is bigger than it should be. In this case, it is a frequent occurrence to accidentally bite it while eating or talking. There are other causes of the same other than disproportional size of the tongue. They include; rhythmic disorder, nocturnal seizures and sleep bruxism. All these lead to involuntary tongue biting. Let us look at each one of them briefly. NOCTURNAL SEIZURES (NIGHTTIME SEIZURES) & Other causes of tongue biting include Lyme disease, swollen tongue ulcers, tobacco chewing and side effects of some medications.

Hi, teeth have a protective layer called enamel with age the enamel wears off and become thin which causes to become teeth sensitive to cold and hot. You need to get a professional check up done to know the exact cause and solution of your problem.
