To control it, eat small & frequent meals. Inlude more pulses & high fiber in diet such as chapatti with bran & fruits with skin avoid sugar, jaggery & honey be very particular about food choices to have a good control on diabetes.

I have thin hair for a girl. I am 20 now, but have been continuously losing large amount of hair for over 5 years now. I have so thin hair all around my head. I feel shy when people look at my hair. It's long but thin. I have consulted dermatologist and hair expert. I was not happy with their advice. Dermatologist asked me to clean my scalp and in doing so, I lose more hair. I wash my hair every couple of days and do not go out often in dust. Hair expert suggested a cream for my scalp but I haven't tried it. I am very much tensed and my confidence level has gone so low when in from of folks.

Hi Lybrate User.... Green Tea is just another health drink/ food with some anti-oxidants... which exist in many other fruits and vegetables. You can have a cup or two every day but it will not reduce your weight or bring your hypertension down. To reduce weight you need to work on your food habits. Reduce fatty foods, Reduce salty foods... chips, pickles, fried foods, sauces, cheese, popcorn. Increase intake of salads, fruits, whole grain, multigrain. protein rich foods. Start doing intensive exercise daily for 60 minutes. As you reduce your weight.. you will be able to reduce your BP also and feel healthier and better.

Regarding your career: Try to put up your résumés or CV on as many job sites as possible. Most of them are free so it will not cost you anything. It is possible that since you may not have significant experience, you may have to take a simpler job with less pay. However do not despair. Everyone has to start somewhere. The important thing is to start a job somewhere, get experience, then you can upgrade to a better job. At the same time, if possible, do some additional courses that will help to strengthen your resume. Also confide in someone you trust and spend time with family and friends. This will help you reduce your stress. If you feel suicidal consult a psychiatrist immediately. You seem to be having lot of anxiety about the same. Tremors, feeling anxious or nervous, sense of panic, sweating, increased heartbeat, feeling of impending doom, stomach discomfort, dizziness etc are signs of anxiety. These can be debilitating. If the anxiety us overwhelming, consult a psychiatrist at the earliest. With the right medication and counseling, it is likely your symptoms will improve. Other than that, try yoga, deep breathing, meditation, moderate exercise, progressive muscular relaxation and guided meditation.

Dear, there are methods by which you can gain some centimeters of height. Do these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily. You can privately consult me for understanding more exercises. * firststand bare foot on flat surface, now move your heels upwards and raise your arms up. Start walk on the front part of feet with heels upwards. Walkatleast 8-10 steps. Repeat this exercise for 2-3 times in a day. 2. Take 300 ml of rich cream milk, 200 gm of cheese and 2-3 eggs regularly. It will definitely give boost to your bone growth. 3. Sit in sun rays for atleast 8-10 minutes in morning of evenings when the sun rays are not so strong. It will help you by getting adequate quantity of vitamin-d. 4. The growth and height iscontrolled by growth hormone whichis secreted by pituitary gland situated in the brain. So take meditation and have a stressfree lifestyle. Take 6-8 hours of sleep daily. Meditation makes your pituitatry gland healthy and working properly. 5. You can also adopt the surgical techniques which helps you gaining desired height.

Rathika had taken ipill even though she dint had intercourse n she got her next periods 3days late. And the Lybrate doctors had suggested to go for home pregnancy test and she tested 2 times after her periods with a gap of 1 week. And it was negative and the doctors told no worries about pregnancy but this month also she has not yet got her periods and the periods date was on 10th of this month.

See if she did not had sex there was no need to take i-pill. After ipill menses can come irregular for some time. Menses can be delayed because of stress or hormonal changes or illness or weight gain also. If she did not had sex in last month and if there was no issue of i-pill this time around, there is no reason to worry. Menses will come and there is no need to take urine pregnancy test.

Follow these best methods to easily gain weight and get a healthy body - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. If someone' s family has a history of diabetic disease.Does avoiding sugar intake at early age helps in controlling the disease?

I don't think so. No doubt that hereditary factor plays an important part in diabetes but avoiding sugar doesn't guarantee that u will be less prone to diabetes. Leading a stress free life, exercising regularly and taking a nutritious life can help you in this aspect rather than consuming less sugar.

Tips To Control Your High Blood Pressure

1. Make sure your blood pressure is under 140/90 mm Hg. If your systolic pressure (the top number) is over 140, ask your doctor what you can do to lower it.

2. Take your high blood pressure medicine, if prescribed, every day. If you have questions, talk to your doctor.

3. Aim for a healthy weight. If you are overweight or obese, carrying this extra weight increases your risk of high blood pressure. One way to determine if you need to lose weight is to find out your body mass index or BMI. If your BMI is above the healthy range (i.e., 25 or greater), or if your waist measurement is greater than 35 inches (women) or 40 inches (men) you probably have excess abdominal weight and you may benefit from weight loss especially if you have other risk factors. Talk to your doctor to see if you are at increased risk for high blood pressure and need to lose weight.

4. Increase your physical activity. Do at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as walking, most days of the week. You can do 30 minutes in three 10-minute segments.

5. Choose foods low in salt and sodium. Most Americans should consume no more than 2.4 grams (2,400 milligrams) of sodium a day. That equals 6 grams, about one teaspoon of table salt a day. For someone with high blood pressure, the doctor may advise less.

6. Read nutrition labels. Almost all packaged foods contain sodium. Every time you prepare or eat a packaged food, know how much sodium is in one serving.

7. Keep a sodium diary. You may be surprised at how much sodium you consume each day and the diary will help you decide which foods to decrease or eliminate.

8. Use spices and herbs instead of salt to season the food you prepare at home.

9. Eat more fruits, vegetables, grains, and low-fat dairy foods.

10. If you consume alcohol at all, consume moderate amounts. For men, this is less than two 12 oz servings of beer, or two 5 oz glasses of wine, or two 1 1/2 oz servings of "hard" alcohol a day. Women or lighter weight people should have not more than a single serving of any one of these beverages in a given day.

5 Home Remedies to Correct Yellow Teeth

A sparkling set of shiny white teeth can make a smile more appealing and infectious. Yellow teeth can be extremely embarrassing and annoying. The important dental tissues that make up a tooth include the Enamel, Dentin, Cementum and the Pulp, of these four tissues, the enamel (the white and hard teeth surface) and the dentin (pale brown) are responsible for the tooth colour. Any damage to these two tissues bring about teeth discolouration and factors that contribute significantly towards yellowing of teeth include:

  1. Poor dental care and hygiene like improper and inadequate flossing and brushing techniques.
  2. Unhealthy lifestyle habits like chewing of tobacco and betel nuts, smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol, tea and coffee.
  3. Certain medical conditions and treatments (chemotherapy and radiation) can adversely affect the dentin and the enamel. Antihistamines are also known to stain the teeth. It is best to avoid mouth washes containing Cetylpyridinium Chloride.
  4. With age, the enamel tends to thin naturally exposing the dentin that lies underneath it.
  5. Fluoride intake in excess can stain and discolour the teeth.
  6. Yellow or discoloured teeth can also be genetic.

Yellow teeth, though frustrating, can be fully treated. The mode and success of the treatment is largely influenced by the extent of the teeth discolouration.

  1. Avoid smoking and chewing of tobacco as much as possible. Control the intake of drinks and foods that can stain and discolour your teeth.
  2. Practice healthy dental hygiene. Brush your teeth twice daily.
  3. Some whitening agents (over-the-counter) can be effectively used to treat yellow teeth.
  4. Dental veneers are a great way to deal with yellow teeth.
  5. For a healthy set of white teeth with pearly shine, visit your dentist every six months.

In addition, several natural and homemade remedies can also prove to be beneficial

  1. Nothing can treat yellow teeth more effectively than baking soda. Brushing your teeth with toothpaste mixed with baking soda (about a quarter teaspoon) can do the yellow teeth a world of good. Using a mixture of baking soda with vinegar (white), lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide is an effective natural remedy.
  2. A healthy practice to get rid of yellow teeth is to rub the teeth with orange peel every night.
  3. Rubbing the teeth with Strawberry paste will help to reduce the yellow stain greatly.
  4. The benefits of lemon are known to all. Brush your teeth with a mixture of lemon juice and salt. Wash it off after a few minutes and the yellow tinge will be a thing of the past.
  5. Charcoal, Apples and Basil leaves are powerful natural ingredients to treat yellow teeth.

Hi If you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine ( ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner.
