I am 10 weeks pregnant and want to have abortion. Please suggest me appropriate method.
At 10 weeks of pregnancy, abortion can not be done with medicines. It will be done surgically under anaesthesia. You can ask your doctor for mva procedure, which is the safest method for abortion.

Sinusitis - How Surgery Can Help You?

Sinusitis - How Surgery Can Help You?

Sinusitis is an inflammatory condition which causes swelling of the tissue lining the sinus passages. The healthy sinisuses are filled with air, but when there is a blockage, they get filled with fluids which can give rise to germs and cause an infection. Conditions such as the common cold, allergic rhinitis (swelling of the lining of the nose) and a deviated septum (shift of the nasal cavity) can cause sinusitis. People with nasal polyps and blocked drainage ducts are more prone to getting sinusitis as compared to other people. The main treatment for sinusitis is surgery.

Sinusitis Surgery
Surgery is the most effective treatment for this condition as it makes the sinuses drain by getting rid of the blockage and draining out the mucus. Surgery also removes infected, swollen and damaged tissues in the sinus along with polyps present in the nose or the sinus. If any foreign substances are obstructing the nasal passage, they are removed as well. Surgery, sometimes, is the only way of getting rid of a nose which is badly blocked. In severe conditions, people might also require a second surgery. Surgery, when coupled with medication, is more effective in treating this condition as antibiotics might be required to prevent the sinus from getting re-infected.

There are two types of sinusitis surgeries people can avail:

  1. Endoscopic surgery: This surgery removes small bones and other foreign substances blocking the sinus passage or is used for removing polyps. A thin tool called the endoscope is inserted into the nose with the help of which, the doctor gets rid of substances which are blocking the sinus passage.
  2. Sinus surgery: This is carried out in conditions when there are developments like pus and infections in the facial bones or in case of a brain abscess (inflammation caused due to infection within the tissues of the brain). In this kind of surgery, the doctor uses the opening in the mouth or makes another one through the skin of the face to remove the blockage from the sinus and get rid of sinusitis. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ent Specialist.

--Need Help with Hypnotherapy-- Been suffering from lot of anxiety and severe depression over the guilt of committing something which is morally wrong according to me. Although it hasn't affected anyone, its not a crime and no one was hurt at all and it means nothing to others, but its something I never wanted to do and hated it to the core. My principles and moral values never allowed me even to go close to it. Had been judging people in a bad way for years about it. But somehow I ended up doing the same thing. Earlier I used to walk away from such people. But I can not walk away from myself! And I can not forgive myself for the sin I have committed and now I just want to die. I can't live with myself remembering I did something I never wanted to do. Is there any way to erase that event from my mind? I just want to delete that part, I want to delete just that one day and that moment from my life. I have heard a hypnotherapist can do it? Please help! Please help me forget (erase) it forever!

HI LIBRATE USER Feeling guilty, it really make you feel like a huge burden is on your shoulder, but the good thing about this was that you could use your guilt as a sign of what priorities you needed to change your life. Everyone make mistakes, making mistakes is what make us human. You should appreciate yourself for your inner honesty and try to improve your life. Focus on forgiving yourself for what you have done, learn from the past and do better in your future. An affirmation of positive statement would be encourage and uplift your thoughts. Try this-"I am a good person and deserve the best despite my past actions" I am not perfect, I make mistakes, but I can learn from my past. Try to tell yourself daily for one week and give your feedback. Thanks.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Hallucinations, Delusions Uncommon in General Population:

Hallucinations and delusions are uncommon in the general population, a new study finds.

Researchers analyzed data from more than 31,000 adults in 18 countries in North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the South Pacific.

The average rate of having had at least one hallucination or delusion (collectively referred to as psychotic experiences) was just under 6 percent. The rates were 5 percent for hallucinations and 1 percent for delusions.

Psychotic experiences were more likely to be reported by women than men (6.6 percent versus 5 percent), and by people in middle-income (7.2 percent) and high-income (6.8 percent) countries than by those in low-income countries (3.2 percent).

Of those who reported psychotic experiences, 32.2 percent reported only one episode, while 31.8 percent reported two to five episodes, according to the study published online May 27 in the journal JAMA Psychiatry.

"We have provided, to our knowledge, the most comprehensive description of the epidemiologic landscape of psychotic experiences published to date. Although the lifetime prevalence of psychotic experiences is 5.8 percent, these events are typically rare" wrote Dr. John McGrath, of the University of Queensland in Australia, and colleagues.

"Our study highlights the subtle and variegated nature of the epidemiologic features of psychotic experiences and provides a solid foundation on which to explore the bi-directional relationship between psychotic experiences and mental health disorders" the study authors concluded.

Arthritis - What Type of Arthritis Do You Have?

Arthritis - What Type of Arthritis Do You Have?

What are the Different Kinds of Arthritis and How to Treat Them?

Arthritis is a very common medical condition that affects a lot of adults as they age. It occurs due to inflammation of the joints, which can be caused by a number of factors such as aging, injury or infection.

There are over a hundred different kinds of arthritis that cause various sorts of problems to those affected. However this condition can be broadly classified into two major types, which include the following:

1.OsteoarthritisAlso known as degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis is the most common kind of chronic condition to affect the joints. This occurs when the cartilage that surrounds the joint wears away and allows the ends of bones to rub against each other causing immense pain and is often accompanied by inflammation and swelling. The primary cause of osteoarthritis is aging and occurs mainly due to pressure on the joints from lifting heavy weights.

2.Rheumatoid ArthritisThis is the most common type of arthritis that occurs due to joint inflammation. It is an autoimmune condition, which means that it is caused by a dysfunction of the immune system that leads to inflammation of the joints. Chronic inflammation causes joint deformities and even the development of rheumatoid nodules on the skin around the joint. Two-thirds of patients affected by rheumatoid arthritis are women.

Depending on the nature of the condition and the age and medical history of the patient, diagnosis, and treatment of arthritis varies. Although there is no permanent cure for arthritis, especially the type caused by aging, a number of remedies exist that provide relief from pain.

Some of the common methods of treatment for arthritis are:

  • Medication - Some medicines provide relief from the pain of arthritis if it is not too severe. These include painkillers, anti-inflammatory pills, sprays, and ointments, etc. In case of high-intensity pain, codeine is often prescribed.
  • Stem Cell TherapyThis method involves drawing platelets from the patient's own blood and injecting it into the inflamed parts of the joint in order to repair damaged muscles and alleviate pain.
  • Injections - A number of anti-inflammatory substances and lubricants can be injected into the affected joints to decrease pain. Ozone gas injections are an example of this.
  • SurgeryIn extreme cases, surgical procedures are resorted to for treating arthritis. However, successful surgery cannot always be guaranteed and it comes with its own set of risks.
