Hello, as reported by you the answer to your question is in the question itself. You have to reduce your anxiety n fear. There is no reason to fear if you are talking to a person try to practice in front of mirror. Approach people with positivity no one is going to judge you. If stuttering persists consult a speech therapist. Regards.

Do warm saline gargle regularly at least thrice daily. Have homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin c thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevents infection.

Hello, you are advised to join the speech therapy classes. Repeat those words on which you stammer, means words which are not clear and don't hesitate after some time if you practice well then your speech will become better.

Sir, I am suffering from stammering. Can you suggest me what should I do for that.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
Stammering is typically recognised by a tense struggle to get words out. This makes it different from the normal non-fluency we all experience which includes hesitations and repetitions. Commonly it involves repeating or prolonging sounds or words, or getting stuck without any sound (silent blocking). Sometimes people put in extra sounds or words. Often people lose eye contact. Some people who stammer talk their way round difficult words so that you may not realise they stammer at all. This avoidance of words, and avoidance of speaking in some or many situations, is an important aspect of stammering. Stammering varies tremendously from person to person and is highly variable for the person who stammers who may be fluent one minute and struggling to speak the next. Get an mri brain and eeg with a psychiatrist evaluation.

I have lisping (tutlana) problem that is 't' comes out when I want to speak 'k' for example tow comes out when I want to speak cow.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Stammering can be made lesser only and only by speech therapy. So you should take the help of a speech therapist. Also, i'd suggest you to visit a psychologist as confidence plays a great role in dealing with this problem. I'd suggest you to speak very slowly, word by word. People may make fun of this but believe me, slowly you'll get better at it. Hope your query is answered.

Sir, My father has diagnosed with thyroid calcification nodule, and suffering with cough & voice hoarseness since last two month so please suggest what we do now?

DNB (Medicine), MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Please get a ultrasound scan of the thyroid and a radioactive scan after that to identify a cold or hot nodule. Then you might require surgery with biopsy of the nodule. Meet a general surgeon for further procedure and management.
