The most common cause of vomiting in children and babies is gastroenteritis. This is an infection of the gut usually caused by a virus or bacteria, which also causes diarrhoea. The symptoms can be unpleasant but your child will usually start to feel better after a few days. During your baby's first few months, vomiting is probably caused by mild feeding problems, such as his tummy being too full. After the first few months, a sudden onset of vomiting is more likely to be caused by a tummy infection, such as gastroenteritis. This type of infection is often accompanied by diarrhoea. Aethusa is a HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE : If a child is vomiting curd-like material followed by exhaustion, this is a good solution. The hungry child eats and goes through the bout of nausea, and the cycle repeats.

Lower abdominal pain in children even in the right lower quadrant does not necessarily mean appendicitis. Common causes of such pain are tonsilitis, roundworm infestation and constipation and rare cause is vasculitis (Henoch Schonlein Purpura) where there are also rashes all over the body with itching. So you should consult a Pediatric Surgeon before anyone else. Probably your kid will not need surgery!

She should be admitted in good hospital as such a high fever in small baby where cause of fever is not known can create problems. So get her hospitalised for further investigation and treatment. Don't worry child will recover.

No what your MIL says is old and baseless belief. It is normal for babies to wake up in between and trouble their mothers. It is part of motherhood! You can take rest/sleep when you are tired in afternoon.

Hello, please see that is not having dehydration. For that you need to show her to doctor - to asses her hydration level. Also give her ORS in water. Go to your local pediatrician so that he can examine condition of baby. Take care.

My baby is almost 1 month now and we noticed now that he is tongue tie. As of now feeding is not a problem though I feel he usually sleep of in the middle of breastfeeding and get up frequently. Is surgery a must and if so can we do now or wait for few more months? Will his speech be affected?

Tongue tie usually does not cause difficulty in feeding. It may cause speech deficit with difficulty in pronouncing certain words which require the tongue to touch the palate like ka, la,Na, etc. Wait till the child starts speaking. If you notice any deficit then get it corrected by surgery.
