Hi. It is not hypertension or bp problem. If no other complaints, then this has to be ignored as it is your bodies nature, not a disease. Take care.

Hi have noted all your details, A triglyceride level of less then 300 mg/dl needs not to be treated with fenofibrinates. Asian population have high levels of triglycerides due to our genetics. In case you want to start medication ,start with low dose of statin like atorvastatin, they effect triglycerides also, and are safer then fenofibrinates. 45 min of strenous exercise should be done every day, 30 minutes of walk at speed not less then 5.1 km/hr should be done daily avoid ghee butter peanut oil, instead take olive oil or saffola. Add fibres to you diet avoid paneer cheese ,red meat and egg yolk change will take atleast 3 month repeat lipid after 3 months.

Dear Lybrateuser, -A mobile phone can cause electromagnetic interference with a pacemaker, if this happens then it can interfere with the pacemaker by stopping it from delivering the stimulating pulsesthat regulate the hearts rhythm -causing the pacemaker to deliver the pulses irregularly -use some precautions like hold the phone to the ear opposite to the side of body where the pacemaker is implanted, avoid placing the turned on phone next to the pacemaker implant, don't carry it in a pocket over the place where pacemaker is implanted -try to keep it away from the body & use it only when necessary.

Alcohol is poisonous to the body. Diet: it is always important to watch your diet. You are what you eat. Eat what your body needs, reduce refined foods, processed foods and increase the amount of whole grains and fruits and vegetables. Eating small frequent meals goes a long way. Reduce intake of saturated fats; include more lean meats. Choose grilling and steaming over frying and roasting. Recommended foods - Healthy carbohydrates, Fiber-rich foods, Heart-healthy fish and Good fats. Foods to avoid - Saturated fats, Trans fats, Cholesterol and Sodium Exercise: Every week, make sure about 2 hours is dedicated to physical activity. This could include any exercise of your choice, brisk walking, swimming, cycling, aerobics, hiking, jogging, skipping, gymnastics, or playing games like football or basketball. While in most cases, the person can do these on their own, in some people, supervision may be required. Watch your weight: controlling weight to a desirable level of BMI of 18 and 23 is very important. Obesity is one of the predisposing factors for diabetes heart diseases, and reducing weight controls the onset of diabetes and helps the progression of symptoms in diabetics. Smoking: Another risk factor for diabetes onset, palpitation, sleeplessness.Quitting is the best option. If not feasible, reducing smoking and gradually quitting should be aimed at. Not just diabetes, the effects on overall health will be evident almost immediately after quitting. Stress management: there is no getting away from stress. Everybody has their stresses but the trick is to manage it well. Whether it is music or meditation or medication or counselling, make sure stress levels are managed. This also helps prevent complications like heart disease and stroke and promotes well-being.

Dear Sharath, Angiography is the investigation which decides whether to go for angioplasty ( stent placement) or bypass. If your doctor has advised angioplasty means there may be blockage in the coronary arteries ( heart blood vessels). So don't worry please go ahead for stent placement for patient's benefit. Once it is done all the problems would be solved. He will feel better. All the best.

4 Ways to Maintain Your Cardiovascular Health

MD - Consultant Physician, Doctor of Medicine, MD
General Physician, Ahmedabad
4 Ways to Maintain Your Cardiovascular Health

Following a healthy lifestyle that is armed with a well-regulated diet is the most important aspect of combating your cardio-vascular disease. If you think that it is going to be very difficult to achieve, then you will be happy to know that the reality is quite the opposite. You can achieve your goals by following short and simple steps that would help you to reap long-term benefits for protecting your cardio-vascular health.

  1. Try to use the calories consumed: It is very important to know how many calories you are consuming in a span of 24 hours. The calorie and nutritional information given on the food levels are normally based on the 2000 calorie diet. But it is crucial to know that your individual calorie requirement is dependent on numerous factors, including your age, gender as well as level of physical activities. When you are aiming to restrict your weight gain, it is recommended not to eat more than you can use up in a day along with increasing the intensity and amount of physical activity so that it matches the amount of physical activity. You must try to incorporate either 75 minutes of hard training or 150 minutes of moderate exercise in a span of seven days in order to boost healthy weight loss.
  2. Consume a wide array of nutritious items from all food groups: Though you may believe that you are eating a sufficient amount of foods, your body may not be receiving an optimum amount of nutrients it needs for proper functioning. Foods that are considered rich in nutrients must contain sufficient amounts of protein, minerals, whole grains and other variants of nutrients with low calorie content. These foods not only aid in reduction of weight but also trigger lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
  3. Eat right: You must aim to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet besides whole grains, dairy products with low fat contents, legumes and nuts. It is important to stay away from red meat, trans fat, artificially sweetened beverages and sodium. Experts also suggest consuming less of food that has poor nutrient content in order to protect your heart.
  4. Avoid smoking and alcohol: Simply exercising and eating a healthy diet is important, but you should not eliminate the adverse effects of smoking and alcohol consumption, which not only cast an impact on the health of your heart but also cause a variety of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The medications and remedial measures vary greatly among individuals and thus, it is crucial to speak with a doctor for receiving personalized treatments. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

If a person suffering from heart attack suddenly then what should we have to do at that instant that it would easily taken to hospital and what are the precautions at that time ?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
If you think someone is having a heart attack: have the person sit down, rest, and try to keep calm. Loosen any tight clothing. Ask if the person takes any chest pain medication for a known heart condition, such as nitroglycerin, and help them take it. If the pain does not go away promptly with rest or within 3 minutes of taking nitroglycerin, call for emergency medical help. If the person is unconscious and unresponsive, call 911 (or your local emergency number), then begin cpr. If an infant or child is unconscious and unresponsive, perform 1 minute of cpr, then call 911. Do not do not leave the person alone except to call for help, if necessary. Do not allow the person to deny the symptoms and convince you not to call for emergency help. Do not wait to see if the symptoms go away. Do not give the person anything by mouth unless a heart medication (such as nitroglycerin) has been prescribed.
