Health Tip
Excessive masturbation can cause the hair follicles to die and increase early onset male baldness.

During stressed and exhausted states, the body secretes an abnormally high amount of glucocorticoids, cortisol, and dht. Dht is a hormone needed to regulate sex drive and hair growth. When the body fails to produce the hormone, early baldness can ensue. Of course in some cases early male-pattern baldness is based on genetics.

The body can however lose dht because of excessive masturbation. Individuals who masturbate often see a reduction of dht, as well as an increase chance of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Men looking to proliferate the production of dht should refrain from masturbating and look to take the homoepathic treatment to help restore hair and stop current hair loss.

For some people, gaining weight or adding muscle can be just as difficult as losing weight. However, simply adding certain foods to your diet can be very effective to gain weight. Red meat is an excellent source of protein that will help you gain muscle. It contains leucine, an amino acid that helps stimulate muscle protein synthesis. The fattier the meat, the more calories you will take in. Just a 170-gram fillet of salmon provides around 350 calories and 4 grams of omega-3 fats. It also provides 34 grams of high-quality protein, helping you build muscle or gain weight. You can make some very simple, high-calorie and well-balanced meals by combining whole grain bread with protein sources such as eggs, meat and cheese. Try combining some dried fruit with a protein source, such as cuts of meat or a whey protein shake. They also mix really well with nuts and natural yogurt, providing a blend of healthy fats, protein and other key nutrients. Try adding avocados, which are loaded with healthy fats to your main meals and other dishes such as omelets or sandwiches. Cheese is a very good source of protein and is also rich in healthy fats. Add it to meals if you need a calorie and flavor boost. Eggs are one of the best foods for building muscle. There’s no limit to the number you should eat in a day, and they’re full of nutrients. Full-fat yogurt is another healthy and convenient snack. Not only do potatoes and other starches add carbs and calories to help you gain weight — they also increase your muscle glycogen stores. Nuts and nut butters are a perfect choice if you’re looking to gain weight. Drinking milk is a great way to add protein to your diet. It contains both casein and whey proteins. Drinking homemade protein smoothies can be a highly nutritious and quick way to gain weight.

Headache for 2 years needs evaluation. Consult a pain specialist for treatment and diagnosis. Headache at young age can be due to 1. Tension headache : Pain is band like constriction at forehead. Simple analgesics like paracetamol will help. 2. Migraine : episodes of headache, geŕnerally one one sided and with nausea or vomiting, photophobia. Migraine treatment requires lifestyle modifications and painkillers. 3. Headache can be due to refractive error (vision defect ). Simple vision check and wearing spectacles accordingly can help. 4. Sinusitis: Headache with nasal discharge, fever and throat pain. Consult an ENT specialist in such cases. Other causes of headache can be cluster headache, tumour, meningitis, cervical spine diseases, and many more. For relief you can take simple analgesics like paracetamol. Consult a doctor if headache worsens or persists or develop neurological problems like seizures, loss of consciousness or weakness. For further queries consult again.

My father has high BP problem. What should I do for that. What precautions I should do specially in winter.

My father has high BP problem. What should I do for that. What precautions I should do specially in winter.
Non-pharmacological management of hypertension is indicated in individuals who are prehypertensive. Prehypertension is systolic blood pressure between 120 to 139 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure between 80 to 89 mmHg. These patients should be trying with lifestyle modification for at least three moonths before starting medications. Great importance is being given to lifestyle modifications, because of definite benefits observed in patients who follow this. Lifestyle changes have advantages not only in the control of hypertension, but also in the management of dyslipidemia and diabetes. In a prehypertensive individual, the following things have to be taken care of: 1) Tobacco: While the major effects of tobacco are in the development of atherosclerotic heart disease, its role in the management of hypertension cannot be forgotten. The pressure effect of tobacco is so strong that the blood pressure comes down immediately after stoppage of smoking. Tobacco is one of the agents that induce clustering of risk factors. 2) Body weight: Lowering of excess body weight can lower blood pressure. In one of the studies, it was found that decrease of 1 kg of body weight is associated with an average fall of 1.6 mmHg. Indeed, in many instances, it would be possible to discontinue medications after effective weight control. 3) Dietary Sodium: Restriction of dietary sodium is one of the most useful methods of controlling hypertension. This fact should be emphasized, because of the increasing use of fast foods, which have high salt content. It is admitted that it cannot be achieved easily. Norman Kaplan, a renowned cardiologist, gives the following practical suggestions. Do not add salt during cooking or at the table. Sodium consumption should be less than 1500 mg per day, an average individual consumes 8 to 10 times more sodium than required. If salt is desired, add half sodium and half potassium chloride preparations. Avoid fast foods. Be careful about the sodium content of some medications and specifically read the labels indicating sodium content in your food. 4) Alcohol: Alcohol consumption of more than 30 mL of ethanol is found to increase blood pressure. Hence, moderation is recommended. One of the major hazards of drinking is the usual associated consumption of high salt savories, which is an unseen source of salt. Instead, use less salted food. 5) Exercise: Regular physical exercise has been found to induce reduction in blood pressure. Strenuous exercise should be done 45 minutes a day for at least six days a week. 6) Relaxation techniques: if still not controlled in 3 months add a mild antihypertensive like beta blocker or calcium channel blocker.

I lost somebody in a car accident I feel depressed after that, I don't know what to do please help me.

M.S. Counselling and Psychotherapy
Psychologist, Bangalore
I lost somebody in a car accident I feel depressed after that, I don't know what to do please help me.
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. It must have been very shocking and kind of devastating for you. I can imagine, it must have been difficult for you to continue life without that person. Have you expressed your sadness, shock and grief? please talk to someone about how you feel after losing this person. Talk about your pain of losing that person. Otherwise your suppressed sadness and pain will develop into more negative thoughts and feelings. You will find it difficult to take rational decisions and you will experience additional stress. The more you talk about the lost person and the more you talk about your pain, more is the cognitive acceptance which will help you to move ahead in life. I understand your pain but loss is an integral part of life. It is not something that happens to us as we live, it is life itself. Understand that life will never be the same again for you but there is life ahead, for you. And this life can be good, with purpose and meaningful. Nothing of what is lost is replaced. A meaningful part of an identity and time is never replaced. Give yourself enough time to feel and experience the pain. But then you need to move on. Resolution does not mean forgetting. You will cherish that person's memories for the rest of your life. But you need to learn to" let go" of that relation you had with the person and move on. It is not very easy. But this if life. Take care.
