The doctor has a very condescending, censorious & authoritarian attitude instead of being friendly. A patient needs the doctor to have a caring attitude. He criticized me for trying to solve my own problems with Homeopathic medicines of medium potencies. This a natural human instinct that every individual wants to cure himself/herself before visiting the doctor. He also does not share the name of the medicine which goes against the Right To Information act. He is ignoring a simple fact that the name of the medicine prescribed is needed in the letterhead for medical reimbursement.
Hello, Friends, I am Dr Sumit Dhawan. I practice homeopathy and today I am here to talk about a problem which is spread worldwide. A large group of population in India as well as worldwide are suffering from this. This is the problem of Hair Fall. We also call it Alopecia or baldness, as you may know. There may be different forms of baldness but today, we are going to talk in general.
This problem can be because of various reasons. People are coming to us and telling us that they are suffering from hair fall but you have to find out what is the basic cause for hair fall. Amongst the causes, it can be because of Environmental causes, for example, humidity. These days it is the rainy season and humidity always causes rainfall. Apart from environmental causes there can be chemical damage. People are using chemical treatments to their hair. They apply re-bonding and they do many chemical treatments which causes hair fall. Additionally, the shampoo and the conditioners that people use can also be damaging if you don’t select it according to your hair. So we have to select them carefully making sure they have least chemicals, they have the least medications so that they harm your hair the least. There can be internal disorders also which causes hair fall. For example, metabolic disorders like thyroid causes hair fall. Sometimes internal weakness can also be the cause for hair fall. Internal weakness can come because of various reasons. For example, in pregnancy, after pregnancy and during lactation many mothers feel that their hair is falling. This is a very common cause that females are having more hair fall after their delivery. Even after some high fever or weakening fever like Typhoid, people get hair fall. So in short, we have to find out why this hair fall is happening and give them treatment accordingly. Homeopathy has a good, rather I would say a very good role in treating hair fall because it gives your body enough strength which is required for the follicles to grow and to be strong enough to hold.
Homeopathy helps in naturally curing hair fall which is different from others as it doesn’t use any chemicals. It uses your internal body strength to cure your problem. We are going to talk about homoeopathy and how it helps you and also I am going to tell you today what basic tips you have to follow apart from any medications, what you should do at home to get rid of your hair fall. The basic tips which I’m going to provide you today for your hair fall have,
- First, oil for half an hour before your shampoo, which is a must. You can use hot oils which are very good for your hair. People say oiling is not good but they are necessary also. Hot oils do not directly affect your scalp. When you apply them they get absorbed in your system and they help your hair roots to grow naturally. So they are good for your hair.
- Secondly, you should avoid using any strong chemicals on your hair. For example, gels. Boys and girls apply the gel. Avoid using hair dryers for drying because more drying will cause more damage to your hair.
- Third, in my opinion, you should avoid using the heavy chemical shampoos which are available in the market including the medicated hair treatments which are available in the market. More chemicals you apply may help you out temporarily but in the long run, they will harm you more. It will further cause more hair fall.
- Fourth, I would say you should take a more Iron rich and biotin rich diet which will definitely help you in re-growth of hair as well as maintaining of good hair length and prevent hair fall. Biotin rich food generally includes more of nuts, particularly almonds, which is very good for your scalp and for your skin as well because it also has Vitamin E. In the biotin rich there is also milk, meat, and many things are there which are biotin rich. You can search for them and see which are the biotin rich supplements for you that you like and take them accordingly. You will then like your food also and eventually help your hair grow.
Along with this, I would say to wind up that these are all the basic tips which you have to follow. If later on you need any help or you need to know anything about your hair fall or your infection, that sometime people have in their hair like fungal infection where there re bald spots, can be completely cured with homeopathy.
I will guide you; if you need help you can let me know. We are always there at Dr. Dhawan’s Medi Centre at Malviya Nagar or you can also come to us online.

Hello, my name is Dr Prashant Das from Dr Monga’s Health World and today in our series, ‘Hello Doctor’, we will be talking about Ayurveda and many other things related to Ayurveda. And, I’ll be interacting with Dr Jyoti of Dr Monga Clinic.
Dr Jyoti- Hello, Good morning, I’m Dr Jyoti, so we can start with the questions?
Dr Prashant Das- Thank you, Dr Jyoti. So my first question to you is what exactly is Ayurveda?
Dr Jyoti- Okay, so, everybody has listened the term ‘ayurveda’. So Ayurveda if we split into two words, it’s ‘ayur’ and ‘veda’. ‘Ayur’ means life and ‘veda’ means science. So when we enter the college, the first sloka that we learn or we are taught is ‘Hita hitam sukham dukham ayus tasya hitahitam mana ch tachha yatrokatam Ayurveda sa uchyate’. Iska matlab hai, hitkar ahitkar sukhkar dukhkar ayu hai, aur iske ahit aur hit ke baare mein jo humein gyaan deta hai, usse ayurveda kahan jata hai. So I think you would be able to understand that it is the science in which we learn how to lead a healthy life and how we can get rid of the diseases.
Dr Prashant Das- And my next question to you is why Ayurveda is not the first or primary option for a common man? When he is facing some problem and he goes to a doctor, why Ayurveda is not his first choice?
Dr Jyoti- It’s very unfortunate actually. Ayurveda having its origins from India, people don’t believe that it is their own pathy, they don’t trust it. There are a lot of causes, lot of reasons why this is emerging as it. People are not trusting ayurveda as they are trusting the other pathies. So, first of all, is the ayurvedic doctors, you know they themselves do not have the confidence that they can treat people with ayurveda. They actually practice modern pathy, they do not know that there is hardly anything which they cannot treat with ayurveda. Secondly, you know, is the quacks. Quackery is a very very very big issue, you know. Aap jab jaate hai raste pe tab bahut saare aapko tent lagaye huye nazar aate hai, jispe aap dekhte hai, ‘ayurveda dwara ilaj kijiye’, ek jhole wala baba betha hota hai aur unhone 10-15 jars mein jo hai who aapke ayurvedic oshadhiya rakhi hui hai. Toh, people think that shayad yahi ayurveda hai, sorry, it is not ayurveda. And one very important thing, people think that drinking amla juice every day, drinking aloe vera, going vegetarian, and practising yoga is ayurveda. It is a part of ayurveda, but it is not complete ayurveda. People actually don’t know what wonders this pathy can do.
Dr Prashant Das- Okay, so that leads me to the next question. We have been hearing about Dr Monga Clinic and we have a punch line also, that we practice ‘ethical ayurveda’. What is the difference between a normal ayurveda practice and an ethical Ayurveda practice?
Dr Jyoti- You know, Mr Prashant, at Dr Monga’s Health World, our main motive is to develop faith in our ayurvedic pathy, means our ayurvedic medicine. We are doing our level best so we can make people understand that Ayurveda can do wonders, you know. But when we enter the college, we are taught, sabse pehle aapko kya karna chahiye? Hetu, ‘hetu’ means karan ko dhundiye. So until and unless you have a detailed word with your patient ki why you are having this problem, what is the diet, what is the lifestyle because there are so many so many things that are adding to the present condition of the patient. Thik hai, there are physiological diseases also, but they are getting worsened by your diet and lifestyle. So here at Dr Monga Clinic, we tell the patients to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle, to make changes in the diet and lifestyle, so that they can have the ultimate good health.
Dr Prashant Das- A related question to the answer that you have just given, I would like to ask you how can a patient when he comes to an ayurvedic doctor and he gets prescribed for his disease or an illness, how can he derive the maximum benefits from the goodness of ayurveda?
Dr Jyoti-Very good question, actually. Actually, the best thing that a patient can get after having an ayurvedic treatment is that first of all, he or she should follow the do’s and don’t’s very properly. Finally, when a person comes to an ayurvedic doctor, woh sab jagah ghumke aata hai. The stage is at such a chronic point that you cannot expect wonders. It will take its time. So, first of all, they need to be patient, they need to follow the do’s and don’t’s properly so that they can achieve the best out of the ayurvedic treatment.
Thank you so much doctor and this brings to the first conclusion of the first episode of ‘Hello Doctor’, we’ll see you again, until then, take care and have a healthy life.
Thank you so much.
