I am suffering from throat pain. I feel like my throat is dry from inside and also huge cough occurs. There is no cold and sneezing, but coughing is large. My voice changed due to cough and throat issue. I am suffering from last 4 days. The heavy cough comes at morning when I woke up.

BHMS
Homeopath, Delhi
This could be due to dryness of throat. Avoid being in ac for long time, as ac absorbs moisture and causes dryness. Keep a bucket of water in ac room in order to maintain moisture. You may take homoeopathic treatment for it.

Hi I am 31 years old. I use to get frequent headaches for years and so I did MRI which showed mucosal thickening in the right maxillary sinus. But den I did not show this mri result to doctors. What does it mean and is there nythng to worry?

D.N.B, D.L.O
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Hello lybrate-user just a mucosal thickening in sinuses on mri will not indicate you have sinusitis. So you shouldn't be worrying for sinusitis ct scan would be more precise than an mri. Only if on ct pns we have significant thickening blocking the route of ventilation of sinuses than it implies you are likely to have headache which requires intervention based on the severity. Also an nasal endoscopy would help. Headache can occur due to many factors other than sinus. Get also an eye checkup done. If you have allergy issues than needs treatment. If headache is with nausea than migraine needs to be ruled out. Also get blood test like haemoglobin, random sugar level tested. Still you can do steam inhalation twice a day if that improves the headache continue for a week. Take paracetamol for headache will give symptomatic relief.

I am having a cracking sound in my ears only when swallowing with no other symptoms I believe because while smoking I inhaled some smoke through my nose.

Hi lybrate-user this is frequently a problem when fluids accumulate on the middle ear (the part behind your ear drum) smokers are inclined to have poor mucociliary clearance which can cause this problem.

I am 35 male suffering from snoring problem at night specially in winter. I noticed that I have a polyp on my right nose. I want a homeopathy solution over the matter.

MBBS, cc USG
General Physician, Gurgaon
Hello, I am giving you some health tips for snoring problem Lifestyle changes to stop snoring Lose weight. If you’re overweight Exercise exercising your arms, legs, and abs, for example, also leads to toning the muscles in your throat, which in turn can lead to less snoring Quit smoking. smoking irritates the membranes in the nose and throat which can block the airways and cause snoring. Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, and sedatives because they relax the muscles in the throat Establish regular sleep patterns. Create a healthy bedtime ritual with your partner and stick to it Clear nasal passages. If you have a stuffy nose Keep bedroom air moist. Dry air can irritate membranes in the nose and throat, so if swollen nasal tissues are the problem, a humidifier may help. Change your sleeping position. Elevating your head four inches may ease breathing Sleep on your side instead of your back Consult chest Physician for further management

MBBS

Hi lybrate-user, do you have any infection in ear, first treat that, then automatically it heals on it own and hole closes. If not it should be operated. Do once audiometry and revert me back with report. Based on the functioning of tympanic membrane and extent of damage we can proceed with treatment. Tc.

Since eight years I am suffering from vertigo. I have done mri on brain checked my ears and found no problem. Due to this I got high blood pressure also. I have taken anti histamine medicine. Presently I am taking medicine for anxiety. There can be any permanent cure for this.

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear Kondalrao. Welcome to lybrate. You yourself are clear that your vertigo do not have any physiological reasons. Therefore you should not worry about it. The more you worry about it, the more you are obsessed. Obsession leads to symptoms which are somatoform. Consult a psychologist online for counseling. Take care.

I am 25 year old recently I was diagnosed with tinnitus in my left ear although I had no hearing loss this was due to fluid build up in my ear after a week or so I got tinnitus in my right ear as well so got my audiometry done again but still everything normal and now I started experiencing eye floaters I met an ophthalmologist but she said everything is normal but I notice a lot of eye floaters every time I step out in daylight. All this is making me too depressed and I keep worrying about my health.

MBBS
General Physician,
The tinnitus you had probably due to accumulation of pus or fluid in the middle ear due to perforation of tympanic membrane due to csom now it seems fluid has been drained out thats why you have no more tinnitus regarding the eye floaters with black spot may be due to retinal change but as you have already consulted the ophthalmologist and there is nothing wrong so you should not worry in necessarily. It will be alright.
