I have developed Arthritis on my right knee which is getting to be an impediment to my active life. Can it be reversed or cured?

MS - Orthopaedics, National Board Of Examination, St John's medical college
Orthopedist, Ahmedabad
Primary Osteoarthritis is not a disease. It's a part of normal aging process. Just like with advancing age the hair turn grey, wrinkles appear on the face, teeth fall off. Its normal aging process and its irreversible. It also is a painful condition. Due to degenerated and worn out cartilage the raw bone surfaces rub against eachother during movement causing pain and hence restriction of activity. Few tips to avoid pain 1. Do yoga within the limits of pain 2. Quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. 3. Painkillers only when the pain is too severe to tolerate. 4. Not to squat, sit cross legged in the floor and to use western commode/specially designed chairs for passing stool in sitting position in the toilets. 5. Avoiding using the staircase both going up and down. Both are equally bad. 6. If the arthritis is early you can even consider an intra articular injection of hyaluronic acid. The results are quite promising in early arthritis. You may consider consulting an orthopedic surgeon if needed.

I have a pimple problem and after pimples they turn in dark spots. What is the solution for this problem?
Dark spots after pimples can be faded or removed spontaneously with time but in few persons it can be matter of unease. Scars and marks can be removed by chemical peels and and microdermabrasion which can be done fortnightly and usually 6-8 sittings will clear the face.

Best way to reduce fat is exercise and diet control. Take pranacharya medohar rasayn twice a day. Medohar guggul 2-2 twice a day. And pranacharya slim capsule 1-1 twice a day. Avoid junk food. Oily food. Fermented food. Alcohol consumption. Sugar. Milk products and sweets. Take oats and cereals more. And do pranayama early in the morning and walk for atleast 45 minutes a day. My height is 5.5 and my weight is not increasing more than 50 kg. What should I do? My age is 36 yrs.

Firstly weight gain is majorly dependent on your metabolism and genetics play a definite role too. You have to be patient and give your body time to gain a healthy body weight. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, sprouts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements. They will not work in isolation. You have to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.

Hi, I would suggest you get your vision tested and if there is any power problem you have to wear glass. At your age near vision like reading may b bit straining. So visit an eye specialist who will guide you about it. Later may be you can also consult a physician to rule out any other cause for headache.

My sex organ is very smaller less than 4 inch I am 21 years old everyone is making fun of me. .please help me.

My sex organ is very smaller less than 4 inch I am 21 years old everyone is making fun of me. .please help me.
Most man are unsatisfied with their penis size but in vast majority such anxiety is unfounded among men, there is no consistent relationship between the size of the flaccid penis and its full erect length. A penis is only said to be unusually small if it is less than 3 inches (7.6 cm) long when erect. The average penis size is about 14-16 cm (5.5-6.3 inches) when erect. The average girth for an erect penis is 12-13 cm (4.7-5.1 inches). But guys get out ruler's. Just because your member may not fall within those measurement doesn't mean you r not excellent partner. Size matters less than knowing what you r doing and how you r doing. So instead of worrying about size try to learn skills of love making and instead of spending time in worrying about size spend time in gaining knowledge about sex. Dick size, some have smaller ones and some have bigger ones. Work with what you’ve got and remember that fucking comes from your whole body, not just your cock. You are not merely a body with a phallus attached. You are a whole and living and breathing man. Make sure it’s the man that’s having sex. Bring all of you to the stage and you will be rewarded and so will she.

How I increase my height in home and what food should I eat for increase my weight.
If you are fond of eating crunchy snacks like peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, raisins and figs, they will definitely help you gain weight. They are full of fats, fibers, vitamins and minerals, and also contain essential oils which enable a thin person to put on some kilos.  Chomp on a handful of nuts every day to increase your body weight.  Add 3 almonds, 2 dates and 1 dried fig to a glass of milk and boil it. Drink this for a month to witness a significant amount of weight gain.  Alternatively, soak 6 dried figs and about 30 grams of raisins in water overnight. Eat them in two parts.

Did You Know Women Are More Prone to Heart Diseases Post Menopause?

Did You Know Women Are More Prone to Heart Diseases Post Menopause?

Menopause brings about a lot of changes in a woman's body. It not only signifies the end of her fertility and child bearing days but is a sign of growing age and the body progressing in a new direction of aches, pains and vulnerability. While some of these are natural, others can prove to be dangerous as it significantly increases the risk of heart disease (unlike common myths, women do get heart attacks). The risk factor is also goes up if the woman suffers from diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure. One of the widely known but well ignored fact remains that women with a sedentary lifestyle increase their risk and vulnerability to all of these diseases. A family history in heart disease can also turn into a risk factor when menopause sets in.

The natural age of menopause is considered to be around 50 and when a woman reaches this age, the estrogen levels in her body experience a sharp drop. This hormone is partly responsible in maintaining heart health in women. Other factors that are triggered during menopause include changes in body fat distribution from a gynoid to an android pattern, reduced glucose tolerance, abnormal plasma lipids, increased blood pressure, increased sympathetic tone, endothelial dysfunction and vascular inflammation.

Experiencing menopause? Here's how you can lower your risk of heart disease

A healthy lifestyle never comes by accident, only by choice. And this is an essential key in controlling diseases that come as a side effect of menopause too. Here are some thing you can do:

  1. Walk / Exercise: This isn't a 5-day week practice. You need to exercise throughout the week in order to maintain heart health. It helps your heart to pump blood through your body and also reduces risks to other diseases like high blood pressure and cholesterol. One key benefit is that it helps keeps the weight off - that should be good reason to walk an extra mile.
  2. Choose a healthy diet: Most people mistake a diet to be about not eating the things you really like. A good diet can be made very tasty and can also be portioned in such a way that it leaves less room for craving. As always avoid the junk, deep fries and extra helping of cheese.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
