What is piles and I have in anus itching problem and burn also so its piles or any other problem.

PGDMLS, PGDHHM, LLB, PhD Surgery, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Gurgaon
Piles is localized engorgment of blood vessels in the anal area. Initially it is limited to inside the anal canal and gradually they tend to pout outside. They may or may not cause bleeding. They may just cause irritation or some anal discharge. Piles tend to get aggravated by chronic constipation. Yes, what you perceive as piles may not be piles because there is an overlap of symptoms with certain other conditions like fissure, fistula, polyp and occasionally more serious problems like anorectal cancer. Occasionally in patients of cirrhosis liver you may get secondary piles as a consequence of portal hypertension. That would require a different kind of management. It is important for you to know that anal fissure & piles improves with general measures but may require surgery. The general measures I would suggest are 1. Take lot of vegetables & fruits in your diet 2. Avoid chillies & spices 3. Take lot of fluids 4. Avoid constipation 5 periodically do anal exercises (alternately contracting & relaxing the buttocks, anal area & upper thighs) 6. Take sitz bath 3-4 times a day. This means sitting in a tub of warm water & doing anal exercises 7. Atleast once get it examined by a general surgeon.

Hello Sir/Ma'am, I'm a 22 years old male. I had burning sensations and pain in my stomach. I took medications for it. The burning sensation and the pain are gone but I feel burning sensation in my esophagus and when I swallow food/water, sometimes I feel like something is stuck in my esophagus. The burning sensation is only when I eat spicy food or food with chillies. I took medications for stomach ulcer for 3-4 months. Plus I can see some ulcer in my throat. Hi from your query it seems you suffering from gastric ulcer and gerd. GERD is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter and the return of the stomach contents back up in to the esophagus. Heartburn, also called acid indigestion, is the most common symptom of GERD and usually feels like a burning chest pain beginning behind the sternum and moving upward to the neck and throat. Many people say it feels like food is coming back into the mouth leaving an acid or bitter taste. The burning, pressure, or pain of heartburn can last as long as 2 hours and is often worse after eating. Lying down or bending over can also result in heartburn. Many people obtain relief by standing upright or by taking an antacid that clears acid out of the esophagus. Heartburn pain is sometimes mistaken for the pain associated with heart disease or a heart attack, Avoiding foods and beverages that can weaken the lower esophageal sphincter is often recommended. Foods such as chocolate, peppermint, fatty foods, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. Foods and beverages that can irritate a damaged esophageal lining, such as citrus fruits and juices, tomato products, and pepper, should also be avoided if they cause symptoms. Eating meals at least 2 to 3 hours before bedtime may lessen reflux by allowing the acid in the stomach to decrease and the stomach to empty partially. Bananas and cold milk contain natural antacids that can act as a buffer against acid reflux. Avoid tight fitting clothes. For treatment we have package, you can consult me through Lybrate.

Acute hepatitis B infection lasts less than six months. Your immune system likely can clear acute hepatitis B from your body, and you should recover completely within a few months. Most people who acquire hepatitis B as adults have an acute infection, but it can lead to chronic infection. Chronic hepatitis B infection lasts six months or longer. When your immune system can't fight off the acute infection, hepatitis B infection may last a lifetime, possibly leading to serious illnesses such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. The younger you are when you get hepatitis B — particularly newborns or children younger than 5 — the higher your risk the infection becoming chronic. Chronic infection may go undetected for decades until a person becomes seriously ill from liver disease. Interferon alfa-2b (Intron A) Antiviral medications. i.e. lamivudine

I usually face blooding from my anus at the time of my daily routine. What should I do?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
As you are mentioning that you only have blood while passing stool, you need to visit a surgeon for examination, and treatment depends on the findings of the surgeon, you may have a fissure in ano or piles, or some other pathology which can be diagnosed by doing internal examination by proctosigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy only.
