How long do benfotiamine, inositol, alpha lipoic acid, chromium picolinate & mecobalamin protect from stress and stay in the body as the psychiatrist gave me one med named benfosules which included these vitamins/ minerals for anxiety disorders and nerves but after this med I am experiencing that it has effected my creativeness as well as my thinking how can these be reversed and till how long these vitamins will stay and effect me.

I have been suffering from stress and insomnia for the last couple of years. On an average, I am able to sleep for less than six hours a day. For the last few months, I am feeling weak, physically and sexually. It feels like that there is some sort of hormonal imbalance. I also have been suffering from IBS for the last six years. It suddenly started in late 2010, when I was still attending college. Then it stopped for around a month, then restarted, and any gastroenterologist is unable to cure this. However, I feel both these issues (weakness and IBS) are not directly related, as IBS is six years old, but this feeling of physical and sexual weakness is just a few months old. Please advise.

Your stress is causing all these problems. Meet with a counselor and sort out your stress for vast imp[rovement. In the meantime, do the following for your sleep problems: In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i.e. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. Pray last thing at night before you sleep.

Hi, take cap. Stomotone 1-1-1 after food for 2-3 weeks and himcocid syrup 2tsf 3 times daily before food to control burning sensation in the stomach and chest take. Madiphala rasayana 2tsf 3 times a day to stop vomitting. Avoid hot and spicy food. Eat small quantities frequently. Drink plenty of water. Never miss your breakfast. Avoid excess intake of coffee and tea. Take tab. Liv 52 ds 1-0-1 for good digestion and tab. Anuloma ds one tab at bed time with a glass of hot water to get easy bowel movements.

Hi, it seems you are suffering from 1. Gastritis or hepatitis 2. Take an antacid 3-4 tsf 8 hrly 3. Get a blood investigation - liver function test done 4. Avoid fatty, oily meals 5. No fast food, no momos and samosas 6. No tea and coffee 7. Lots of water 8. Walk after meals 9. Eat less at nights 10. No soft drinks, hard drinks and no smoking recommended a video consultation.

Advice - sulphur 30, 5pills only in the morning, nux - vomica - 30, only at night. Eat healthy food like vegetables, fruits, salad, avoid spicy and oily food specially at night. And drink plenty of water and drink one glass milk at night. Sleep around 10: 30 pm or 11 pm.

Piles is a tough situation. If neglected, it worsens too much. First of all constipation should not be there. Take max fibers. Take max fruit pulp. Remain light on diet. Fresh chhachh i.e. buttermilk should be maximum in day time. Stool should be soft. If you inform history and extent of piles and if there's any investigation report, pl let me know. For the time being pl get Bermuda grass (doorva) and extract juice ( whatever little you get) and try to drink daily. Take Dried alum powder 1/2 gm with water every eight hrs for checking bleeding. Proper medicines will be advised on getting info.

To get relief from gas problem and to improve digestion power you can follow these methods: • Take one teaspoon of ajwain seeds (carom) and 1/2 teaspoon of jeera grind it and make powder of it add 1/3 rd of teaspoon of this in your food you eat. • Take pudina (mint) and coriander leaves grind it and eat one teaspoon of it daily 2 times in a day. You can make chutney of it. Mint and corriander has enzymes that improve your digestion. • Do running and jogging exercise daily. Do pavanmuktasan daily for 5 minutes under the supervision of yoga expert. • Eat healthy food and avoid fast food, spicy food, excessive consumption of tea, coffee and alcohol.

Eat a high-fiber diet. Get insoluble and soluble fiber. Limit foods that are high in fat. Choose lean meats. Incorporate probiotics into your diet. Eat on schedule. Stay hydrated.

Maintain proper hygiene, take filtered water only. No smoking, no alcohol if any. Avoid outside spicy and fried food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2 hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help chew your food properly at time of lunch and dinner. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy/usg done. Tab nexpro-l 1 tab empty stomach.

lybrate-user, It would be a good idea to to get a oesophago-gastro-scopic examination done. It means a camera would enter your stomach from your mouth and the doctor can see if the stomach oesophagus junction is loose or not, which can cause GERD. So visit a surgeon and get examined.

Thorough washing and proper cooking of fruits and vegetables can eliminate most bacteria that cause food poisoning.

Food-borne illnesses or food poisoning usually occurs due to eating food that is contaminated with bacteria or their toxins. Virus and parasites can also be cause food poisoning. People have known for long that raw meat, poultry and eggs can also harbor diseases causing microbes. But in recent years most outbreaks of food borne illnesses have been due to fresh fruits and vegetables.

Food poisoning can cause abdominal pain, nausea, headache, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration. Symptoms may appear several hours to several days after eating tainted food. For example, salmonella bacteria will cause illness 12 hours to 3 days after ingestion lasting about 4-7 days.

The most common way to treat food poisoning is to drink plenty of fluids. The sickness usually subsides within a few days.
