Add more calorie dense foods like eggs, Paneer, chicken, fish, nuts in your diet to maintain your BMR. This will help you to feel better and will not make you lethargic or low. Add more calorie dense foods like eggs whites, banana and honey to your diet. Make sure you consume protein sources like eggs, pulses, chicken or fish or paneer in each meal of yours which should be every 2 hourly. Emphasize more on strength training.

90 percent of vegetarian population suffers from vitamin D and B12 deficiency. So don't consider yourself the only one. The only source for vitamin D is Sunshine. Try exposing your body early mornings to sunlight to get it. You can also start with calcirol sachets once a week to get vitamin D along with calcium. B 12 is not found in vegetarian sources, so again need to stick to capsules.

You need this introduce one food at a time. Too many foods are very confusing for a year plus child. Handy foods like carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, murmura, namkeens, or banana are much easier for a child to handle.

Weight reduction cannot be achieved by any magic pill. Start on with a routine of balanced diet and regular physical activity and be motivated enough. Set realistic goals like dropping the size of your present jeans by 1! Increasing fibrous foods like raw veggies and fruits, oats, bran in diet will be extremely helpful.

Just don't get into any supplement. You can have egg nog, banana shake with honey and eat calories dense and high protein foods to put on weight. Strength training will also be helpful.

I'm 44 years of age and battling obesity. I'm weighing 108 kgs. I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight, but haven't found much success. Is bariatric surgery a good option or is there any other way to go about it. I do not have any health issues.

This is not a fact. Different schools of therapies have different thoughts. Most of the Bengali preparations uses fish and milk/curd. There is no harm at all.

Bilateral pcos I have. Weight 75 kg. To reduce weight done exercise but not yet any response. Not loosed any weight, in fact gained a lot. And I saw some homemade recipes that jeera soaked overnight and mrng after boiling to drink that reduces weight? Or any other remedies there? To get periods regular and to loose weight. Weight loss cannot be achieved by any magic pill. You need to be motivated and serious enough to get desired results. Regular physical activity and a balanced controlled diet is what is required. Start with coriander water in the morning and eat every 2 hours. Emphasize on more fiberous foods like salads, fruits, bran, oats. Once you will start losing weight, your periods will also start regularising.

Excess of everything is bad. Get into the habit of balanced diet rather than sticking to anything new in market. For a high protein diet, you can consumed black beans and chickpeas bit should not be on daily basis to avoid your gut and metabolic system getting used to it. Keep changing diet.

You can increase your weight by consuming calorie dense foods like banana shake with honey, and high protein foods like paneer, pulses, chicken or fish. Strength Training is equally important to help build more of muscle mass rather than putting fat under your skin.

I have PCOS, Insulin is also high and prolactin is also higher side. As my Dr. suggested to lose weight I am trying hard to loose. Problem is that as I have higher insulin and pcos so I should intake less sugar or should take sugar to stable my insulin. Bit confusing As I am dieting (taking maximum veg, fruits) I am on medicine (Riomet, B long F, Normoz & caberlin) Sometime I feel very tired, my stomach pains (bearable pain) etc Thanks in advance.

To help with Pcos and high insulin levels, you also need to consider carbs I take. Make sure along with good amount of fruits and veggies, consume complex carbs like oats, ragi, bran, husked pulses as well. This will keep your insulin under check and you will not feel tired easily. Hi lybrate-user, genetic predisposition is a major factor if you do not any any medical history or any sign for hyperthyroidism. You can easily start putting on weight by eating at frequent intervals, incorporating high protein diet and doing some strength training.
