I am felling like I have spikes in my tongue and I am not able to feel anything in my tongue.

BDS
Dentist,
Hello maam. It seems that the problem you are facing is due to the inflmation of the filliform papillaes present at the tip of a toungue. It may be due to increased internal body tempreature. Bt there is no need to worry as well as no special treatment is required for it. U just have to drink a lot of water so as to lowere the tempreture and excrete the increased toxic wastes in the system. All you can do is avoid things with an overall warmth providing nature and if possible do a course of multivitamins or B-complex. U will surely feel the relief. Regards.

Hello. As far as the food is concerned. U should avoid spicy food so as to reduce the irritation. Avoid touching the ulcers wth your tongue and last aplly mucopain or benzocaine gel over them so that you can eag your food and at the same time feel the relief. Use it half an hour prior to your meal. Mouth ulcers are generalky self healing unless you have any other special systemic promblem. So my advice is to "give it some time to heal" regards.

Hello as a home remedy you can apply baking soda over your teeth or do baking soda in water mouthrinses. If the ulcer persists, you need to consult a physician and get your Vitamin B levels checked. If required take supplements for it.

Hello. The treatment you r asking for your oroblem is compkete oral prophylaxis comprisin of cleaning the space btw teeth and gums so as to decrease the microbial colonies residing in yhese areas causing periodontal destruction as well as bad breath. Generally also you should go to a dentist for your oral prophlaxis once evry 3 to 4 months. U can also use the mouthwast and the toothbrushing techniques taught to you by your dentist. Bt this alk is after thr scaling whivh is the primary and most important steo of the treatment I hv told you abt. Regards.

I got some red color spots on my tongue. Very painful and burning. I am unable to talk and eat. I think the reason for that is bubble gum. That is not suited for me. Please give me good medicines.

Hi lybrate-user. First of all as a home remedy you can use luke warm saline rinses 3 to 4 times a day. Use a benzocaine gel and apply it over the affected side gums so tha you could eat. Lastly the reason for oain during erruption can be a lack of space in your jaw baone for the erruoting tooth. So I wud advice you to visit your dentist for a clinical examinal and have a radiograph of the affected tooh so that he could give you a more clear insight of the problem. At most you wuld have to get it extracted bt it is the last resort. So dnt worry. Pls avoid pain killers for the same until the oain is unbearable. Regards.

Hi lybrate-user. Yor bad breath problem is known as "HALITOSIS" see the problem you r facing has got a root cause in your oral environment tht is the micro organisms which your mouth harbour. As it is normal to have these bt in your case they are surely more than the normal level causinv faster breakdown of yhe food which gets stuck in and between your teeth. Here you have to be more cautious then any other individual who undergoes frequent dental exami ation. First of all visit a mearby dentist and have proper oral prophylaxis (deep clening of your gums) helping you to decrease the level of these micro organisms. Use frequent the medicated mouthwash which your doctor prescribes you and if possible then ask him or her to have a culture test of your samlles so that he or she could find a more deeper root cause. Chewing gums with XYLITOL as the indgredient would surely help you to decrese this bacterial activity and alternatively you will see a decrease in your problem. OR if still the problem persists then I would advice you too consult a good medicine or gastro consuktant cause sometimes halitosis can be due to unballanced digestion cycle going in your stomach.

Bad Breaths have different reasons. Oral hygiene is one of the major cause for it .Because the food particle remains in gums and teeth's produce the bad breaths after protrusion with reaction on Bactria in oral cavity. Other major cause is our food habits if we are consuming sharp order food at night. There are some other disease which also produce bad breaths which are Gastrointestinal reflux disease, diabetes, post nasal drip upper respiratory tract infection. It also a sign of our digestive system .If food is not digesting properly if we are take heavy dinner that also can be cause of bad breaths. So to know the cause of your bad breaths you need to check all these details to get it corrected. Take proper hygiene measure. Take light diet at night Do oil pulling after brushing consult personally for detail discussion. Regards.

Hi lybrate-user, Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist. You may consult me in person!

My ortho treatment is going to end after 1 year of treatment. I was having relapse after my first treatment. That why I opt for 2nd time ortho. My two upper teeth was overlapping each other and there was class 2 malclusion and overcrowded. Now I want to know which retainer are best for me. Fixed or removable (wire or clear one) which choice will be best for me. Or should I go for both fixed on upper teeth and removable also?

Fixed retainer are the best one because first of all you dnt have to remove it and put it every day in your mouth. Secondly with the fixed ones the results are much faster. Thirdly the patient compliance is better and the dentist gets the result wht he wants. And lastly I wud recommend you to go for the fixed retainers ad this is your second time treatment so you need to be more carefull this time as everytime you undego trtmnt there are changes withing the bone which a hard to bring abt and stabalize. Regards.

Hi, Nutritional deficiency, excessive stress & debilitating disease can cause ulcer. Exercise regularly. Have a balanced diet. Eat lot of fruits & green leafy vegetables & drink plenty of water. Increase dietary intake of vitamin B, folic acid, iron and use of vitamin supplements etc under medical supervision if blood tests confirm low concentrations, Avoid irritating substances, such as Tobacco, Hot, spicy foods, Alcoholic beverages, Mouthwashes that contain alcohol, Products high in acid, such as citrus fruits and juices Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need Coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with Multivitamin cap, for five days in the morning after meals & antiseptic ointment or gel like Hexigel or Mucopain gel on the area of ulcer until then!

Dear lybrate-user. The answer to your ques lies in the past experience you may have got in your childhood. The main reason for malalligned teeth is the over retention of your primary teeth or a trauma in your childhood causing a damage to your permanent tooth buds. Or maye be your canine i.e. your third tooth (canine) may be impacted causing a retention of duckling stage of your teeth developement. There no need to worry cause there is atreatment for each of the conditions I mentioned but you have to go for a clinical examination to a dentist before any prior advice can be given.

Hi sir, please consult a dentist but the pain might be due to improper brushing technique. Use a ultra soft bristle brush and brush for 2-3 mins only. Do not brush hard as it might damage your gums.

Hello, bleeding gums and bad breath could be because of deposits on teeth surface or food lodged in between teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush your teeth twice daily, night brushing is very important. Floss regularly. Rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.
