Your symptoms are typical to recurrent aphthous ulcers. Actual cause of this is still not known but various associated factors and symptomatic treatments are available today. Follow these best remedies - 1) relieve stress related to various day to day problems like family, friends, exams. Job etc. Perform yoga, exercises etc. As best stress busters. 2) drink plenty of water daily. 3) visit a dentist for professional scaling and polishing. It will remove local irritating factors in mouth 4) take multivitamins and minerals capsule once or twice daily, specifically vitamin A, C, E and zinc, selenium 5) apply Amlexanox gel and rexidine m forte gel alternatively 3-4 times a day until ulcers heals. 6) take doxycycline capsule, open it and collect the inside powder, mix it with water to make a paste form, apply over ulcers 3-4 times for 5 minutes each daily until ulcers disappears. 7) even then, many times the above mentioned treatments fails. Hi, lybrate-user keeping a rod is not at all problematic unless it's hurting you and removing a rod is very difficult then inserting it and there always possibility if nail jammed it may not come out.

Some portions of my teeth are black. I am not a smoker or alcoholic person. This problem happened 2 years back at that time I went for scaling but after 6 months same problem happening. Some portions are black people think thai I took gutka but I never took. I am the only person who suffered from this problem in my family. Since 2 months I never took tea or coffee. But the problem remains the same. Should I go for scaling? Is this scaling or washing process is good for teeth again or again. Please suggest me any solution or paste regarding this problem.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury - Know Everything About It!

In general, anterior cruciate ligament injuries, or ACL injuries, are understood to be tears in any of the several knee ligaments joining the upper leg bone and the lower leg bone. This can vary from minor injuries, such as small ligament tears, to more serious cases, like complete tears or when the ligament and one of the bones gets displaced from the other. These injuries usually occur during sports activities, like soccer, basketball, football, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, etc. An untreated ACL injury can lead to a condition called an ACL deficiency. This can cause a lot of problems with regard to knee movements as the bones may rub against each other, causing a lot of pain. In some cases, the cartilage covering the ends of the bones may get damaged, eventually tearing and trapping the cushion pads supporting the knee joints.

Symptoms

Signs and symptoms of anterior cruciate ligament may include:

  1. You are unable to move properly.
  2. You experience immense pain while walking up and down stairs.
  3. You are unable to engage much in physical activities.
  4. Your knee begins to swell gradually.
  5. You can sense a loud popping sensation when moving your knee.
  6. You experience feelings of instability.

Causes
Anterior cruciate ligament injuries generally occur during sports. Here are some common possible instances that might happen during a game:

  1. Sudden arrest in motion
  2. An unsteady landing from a jump
  3. Direct blows to the knee from tackles
  4. Sudden shifts in direction

Treatment
Treatment of ACL injuries normally involves the following:

  1. Immediate medical attention along with intense first aid care
  2. Sincere adherence to the R.I.C.E model of self care -
    • Rest: Proper rest for a couple of weeks or months depending upon the severity of the injury
    • Ice: Using ice packs to help cool the nerves
    • Compression: Ice treatment further helps in compression
    • Elevation: When lying down in bed, it is strongly recommended that you keep your affected leg at a slightly higher position, through the use of pillows or cushions
  3. Success rehabilitative therapy for several weeks
  4. Anterior cruciate ligament surgery or reconstruction

Avoid bending in front. • Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. • Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

It may be due to flatulance. Take hot water in small cup in the morning and evening. Take light diet and apply Ayurvedic massage oil on your back. Don't worry it is not a big problem.

Hip Replacement - Understanding The Procedure In Detail!

Mobility for a person is very important, and when you look through, the hip is a very important component to this. It connects the upper and lower parts of the body and helps in movement. It is a ball and socket joint, where the hip bone provides a socket, into which the upper part of the thighbone (femur) sits into, allowing for free movement.

Like any other human organ, the hip also is prone to damage. Be it natural ageing, infection, injury, or diseases, hip movement can be affected, leading to limited movement and increased pain and stiffness. For these people, being able to get back a hip which will allow them to be back on their feet is a boon for sure. It helps in relieving pain and improving mobility, almost giving people a second lease of life.

Reasons for hip replacement:

  1. With natural ageing, the hip joint can lose its ability to move, due to normal wear and tear of the hip and thigh bones
  2. Diseases of the hips (infectious or autoimmune) can also lead to hip replacement

Understanding the procedure in detail

  1. The affected bones (whether diseases or worn out) are replaced with a prosthesis which is compatible with the normal body tissue.
  2. While some materials fuse to the natural bone, others do not and are simply placed as a separate unit
  3. This is a surgery which requires hospitalisation and stays for up to 5 days depending on patient’s overall health condition
  4. The entire procedure may take a couple of hours and is usually done under general anaesthesia
  5. An incision is made through the side of the hip
  6. Both the hip and the thigh joints are prepared, diseased tissue removed, re-shaped, etc. to make way for the prosthesis
  7. The prosthesis is introduced through the same incision and positioned into place
  8. As noted earlier, there are two types. The ones which fuse to the bone have pores in them into which normal bone eventually grows.
  9. The other variety is the cemented version, and a glue is used to keep it in place
  10. Most doctors now use a combination, that is cement a porous prosthesis, into which bone will grow, and the incisions are closed
  11. The patient stays in the hospital for 1 to 4 days depending on overall health
  12. Once discharged, infection and pain control are continued
  13. Exercise and physiotherapy play a major role in restoring normal function

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes widespread body pain along with sleep deficits, memory loss, mood problems and fatigue.

My mom age is 54. She suffered from severe joint pain in fingers and body leg pain. We went to rheumatologist. Doctor suggest tablet. She took tab for 8 months. But crp level is 17. Only reduce 3 point 20 to 17. Also she suffer body pain, back pain, feel vomit and stomach problem sometimes. Sometimes feel OK. How to reduce crp level and how long continue tablets. Is there any side effect. Other than crp level. Every other report is fine. No hormone, diabetes etc.

Hi there! Your mother probably suffers from and is being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a rule, we do not chase CRP levels for a patient. We chase the symptoms and aigns i.e. The problems actually faced by the patient. CRP levels might or might not come down, with or without medicines. But there is nothing wrong with it. I suggest you stop getting repeated CRP levels assessed at your level. You'll be much happier. Let CRP levels be assessed, as and when required, by your Doctor. If clinically o/ symptomatically, your mother is better. That's the best thing. If she still has problems of pain, stiffness, etc. Her medication might have to be increased. Consult as required. Dear Lybrate User, You should visit your dentist for more help on this issue. Yes it's possible to reduce the size of your front teeth and bring them in harmonious alignment with the teeth in the arch but the treatment options may vary from simple grinding (a little bit) to putting crowns on the teeth. We cannot simply over-grind the teeth as that leads to severe tooth sensitivity. Instead, your dentist would decide as at what option works the best in your case by examining your teeth, taking impressions and analysing the smile profile. Good Luck!

Brushing your teeth is an important part of your dental care routine. For a healthy mouth and smile, you must: 1. Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled brush. The size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth allowing you to reach all areas easily. 2. Replace your toothbrush every three months or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won’t do a good job of cleaning your teeth. 3. Make sure to use a fluoride containing toothpaste. The proper brushing technique is to: 1. Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. 2. Gently move the brush back and forth in short (tooth-wide) strokes. 3. Brush the outer surfaces, the inner surfaces, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth. 4. To clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes. To massage your gums (5-8 mins): Wet your finger with a routinely used toothpaste or a gum paint like Stolin, Bali or HiOra-GA and place it on your gum line. Gently massage your gums with your finger using small circular motions. You can also apply the substance to your gums using a soft toothbrush. Apply two or three times a week. Good Luck!

It might be due to temporomandibular joint dysfunction. You can take painkillers to relieve pain, Apply an ice pack to the side of your face and temple area for about 10 minutes. You can do some jaw stretches (after consulting a dentist only). When you’re done, hold a warm towel or washcloth to the side of your face for about 5 minutes. Perform this routine a few times each day. Take soft diet, give rest to your jaw. Consult a dentist for the same.

Treatment should be focused on relieving the nerve pressure. That can be acheived by assesing your which nerve is involved and based on that need to prescribe exercises. I don't know what this symptoms are about? Whenever I run or walk fast the internal heat which produce in my body lead to warmth in my mouth which further lead to bloody saliva.

Fibromyalgia - Ayurvedic Ways That Can Help Resolve It!

Fibromyalgia is a medical condition that is known to affect the soft tissues and muscles of the body. As a result, there is a muscular pain and fatigue experienced throughout the body, often interfering with daily activities of the affected individual. Though the condition can affect both men and women, females are more prone to Fibromyalgia than their male counterparts.

The pain (can be acute or chronic) associated with fibromyalgia is often an outcome of a condition whereby the receptors in the brain that perceive the pain signal undergoes modification, becoming oversensitive to the pain stimuli.

The body has 18 tender points spread throughout the body. These tender points are highly sensitive and can be quite painful when pressed. Research suggests that individuals with fibromyalgia experience pain in at least 11 of these pressure points when pressed (often used in the diagnosis of fibromyalgia).

Causes of Fibromyalgia
While it may be difficult to decipher the exact trigger that results in Fibromyalgia, the condition may be an outcome of

  1. Physical or emotional trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression
  2. Genetic predisposition. The incidence of fibromyalgia is higher in individuals with a family history of the condition
  3. Indulging in too much of a sedentary lifestyle (lack of physical activities and exercise) can play a pivotal role in triggering fibromyalgia
  4. Certain health conditions and infections such as Arthritis can also give to fibromyalgia


Symptoms
While muscular and joint weakness and pain are synonymous to fibromyalgia, a person may also complain of

  1. Sleeping disorders
  2. There is a weakness, headache (often associated with a migraine), and fatigue (in spite of having a sound sleep and proper rest)
  3. A person may experience Fibro Fog (a condition resulting from fibromyalgia whereby a person finds it difficult to memorize or concentrate on anything)
  4. There may be morning stiffness along with numbness or a tingling sensation in the legs, hands, feet
  5. Some women with fibromyalgia may experience menstrual cramps which are often painful
  6. One may also suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Temporomandibular joint disorders


Treating Fibromyalgia with Ayurveda
According to Ayurveda, Fibromyalgia is an outcome of the vitiation of all the three doshas - Vata, Kapha, Pitta. This affects the digestion process (it weakens or slows down) with the buildup of toxins or Ama in the body. Thus, for an effective treatment, the balance between the three doshas should be restored along with the elimination of the toxins out of the body (detoxification).

  1. The treatment often involves a concoction of herbal and Ayurvedic oil massages and oil baths, lifestyle changes, dietary modifications, meditation and yogas or pranayamas
  2. Avoid non-vegetarian (can have lean meat though), spicy and greasy foods. Instead, supplement the diet with fresh fruits, vegetables, healthy or good fats (poly or monounsaturated fats), whole grains
  3. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water daily
  4. Follow a healthy sleep routine. Mediation and Yoga will act as a catalyst, enhancing the overall treatment
  5. Drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco or drug abuse should be avoided
  6. A Warm Ayurvedic oil application with gentle pressure is very effective in this if done on regular basis
  7. Stay happy and stress-free

This is a condition known as Plantar fasciitis. You should do contrast foot bath with alternate hot and cold water fomentation. Apply anti-inflammatory gel. Avoid running, jogging, jumping. Use silicone Heel cushion in shoes.

• Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. • Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
