I was having a doubt regarding oral/mouth cancer. So I should go to dentist or what? Nd which test should I do?
Dear, dentist, ent specialist, a surgeon specialist, a surgical oncologist are all capable to advise you the right treatment.
Normal cont is in thousands not in lakhs Please check. If your count is 12 lakhs you are in serious trouble. If it is 22 thousand, it may not be leukaemia, it may be because of se infection Truly.
Will my cousin survive long as he is in last stage of Chronic myeloid leukaemia and under tasigna chemotherapy.
DEAR, YOUR COUSIN SHOULD DO WELL WITH CHEMOTHERAPY. IF PLATELETS ARE NORMAL AND SPLEEN IS NOT ENLARGED, HE SHOULD DO WELL. IN PRESENT DAY TREATMENT WITH THE AVAILABILITY OF NEWER MOLECULES PATIENTS DO PRETTY WELL.

Is treatment of stage 4 cancer possible. After taking chemotherapy. Is there any treatment in medical science in allopathy, ayurvedic or homeopathic.
Dear, there is always treatment available for any stage of cancer even stage 4. The treatment depends upon the part of body involved and the type of cancer as seen by biopsy. Age of the patient and nutritional status of the patient is important to decide what treatment can be given. In some stage 4 cancers if disease is very advanced and patients condition is not conducive you still give palliative (symptomatic) management so that his suffering is controlled and patients feeling factor remains good. If you still want to know more please furnish all the details and necessary advice will be posted. Truly,

Dear lybrate-user, it is good that you are in remission for last 2 &1/2 years. I hope you are on remission maintenance now. The longer the duration of remission the better it is possibly if remission is longer you are cured and should act as cured and have normal life. Truly
Asked for male, 60 years old from Bhubaneswar
My father is 89 years old and is suffering from stomach cancer. Cancer was detected about 40 days ago after endoscopy and biopsy. The treating doctor (gastroenterologist) says that there is no point in going for treatment and advised us to go for palliative care. At present the pain is minimal. In case the pain increases and other symptoms like fullness in stomach, vomiting, bloating, difficulty in swallowing and other symptoms get aggravated, he may require palliative care. Please help me in locating a palliative care unit / doctor in Bhubaneswar with specialisation in giving palliative care to stomach cancer patients. With regards.
Please get advice from the oncologist. No age is contraindication for curative treatment if possible otherwise palliative treatment can be given by your family physician. This treatment is a symptomatic treatment and cannot continue for long time. Palliative treatment may involve even surgery as well. So oncologist opinion should be sought.

Dear lybrate-user, bone cancer is of many varieties. To give you exact version I need to know the full details of bone cancer as regards type, site of involvement and the extent of involvement. If you mean preventive measures for bone cancer, healthy balanced diet with adequate calcium and vitamin d are helpful. Berry fruits considered to contain vitamin b17 is regarded as the best preventive agent for bone cancer, also flex seeds and sesame seeds are also known to have same effects.

My friend is suffering from carcinoma sarcoma of gall bladder type 4 stage cancer. I want to know about the treatment process and hes chances to survive as I am really very worried about him he is 42 years of age .please reply me soon.
DEAR NASREEN, HOW YOU KNOW THAT IT IS STAGE 4. IN STAGE 4ALSO SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON HOW AGGRESSIVE IS THE DISEASE. IF IT IS NOT SYMPTOMATIC 8 TO 9 MONTHS OR MORE IS POSSIBLE OTHERWISE 3TO 6 MONTHS COULD BE SURVIVAL TIME. TREATMENT WILL BE ONLY SYMPTOMATIC.

I had total thyroidectomy due to Thyroid cancer, Parathyroids were preserved, Done with Rai therapy of 100 mcg it's almost 20 days, currently using Calcium supplement of 2000 mg and Eltroxin 200 mcg, problem is my body is hot but there is no fever, also there are body pains since 4 days, what could be the reason?
Dear lybrate-user, There is no specific reason for your fever. It has no relation with your thyroid cancer. May be some times high dose of Eltroxin may stimulate it. Simple symptomatic management for fever will cure you. Relax.

Sir. I am a hodgkin lymphoma patient. Finished chemo ABVD in feb 17 and radiation therapy on 4th apr 17. I have some side effects from radiation like no taste in mouth, having bad breadth, and excessive saliva in the mouth. Please advice how to reduce these.
DEAR RAZA, NOW YOUR TREATMENT FOR LYMPHOMA IS OVER. SOME SIDE EFFECTS POST CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIOTHERAPY DO OCCUR AND PERSOST FOR SOME TIME. HAVE GOOD FOOD, FRUITS AND JUICES, SLOWLY ALL YOUR PROBLEMS WILL VANISH. SEE THAT YOU ARE HAVING GOOD MOTIONS. IF YOU SMOKE OR USE PAAM MASALA DOS CONTINUE IT. BREATH FRESH EVERY THING WOLL COME TO NORMAL.
Dear lybrate-user, it is better to get the primary removed as recurrence is rule which may not be early but in the long run it may reoccur.

My scrotum sac has swelled. It is now more than 3 months but it has not restored to its normal shape, it doesn't pain, but when I walk more than a KM or stand for a long time, it gets tight and pains a little, I need to rest to make it loose again. What disease it is? Please suggest.
Dear lybrate-user, you must be suffering from ingunal hernea. By examination only we can say if it requres corrective measure or it can be managed by conservative method. If it is more sometime it will give rise to shooting pain and become life threatning due to development og gangrene. Therefore examination is a must.

Can pheochromocytoma tumour i.e adrenal tumour 5 cm in size in all three dimensions be treated by medicines.
Asked for female, 27 years old from Calicut
Dear lybrate-user treatment depends upon the etent of disease in the pancreas. If surgery not possible combned pain killers along with suitable chemotherapy and adjunctive radiotherapy will shrink the disease and reduce the pain. This will also increase the survival time of the patient.

My mother has undergone angioplasty opn one stent has been placed on 04.02.2017, she is also suffering from breast cancer with 3rd stage. Pl tell what is your opinion on chemotherapy for cancer treatment i. E. When it can be started.
Dear, any chemotherapy if suggested for treatment of breast cancer of your mother, it is not going to harm your mother as regards stent is concerned. Whether she needs chemotherapy is to be determined.in some patients the status of breast cancer is such that hey do not need chemotherapy but only hormones or growth restraining single drug chemotherapy. For this we need to have all the details of your mothers history.

I am 23 years old male, weight is 65 kgs. I have a small lump on my scalp on the left hand side of the brain since a long time. I consulted a Doctor for this who said that it is non malignant so I need not be worried and it will go on it's own but it only reduced in size but is still there. Today I have one more small lump on the right side of the brain above the scalp above the neck. When I touch it, it feels soft so should I be worried?
Dear, if it was cancer it would have grown very much by now. So it is not cancerous. But for cosmetic reasons and your comfort it is better to get it removed.

Hi its my hubby's niece she is 4 years old has lymphoma, one cancer tumor frm brain was operated already another one grew for which a new magnetic treatment was given, now she has another hodgkin at her throat part which is suppressing her food and wind pipe. How to proceed.
Dear lybrate-user chemotherapy is the answer. Since the tumor was already removed earlier and has recurred. Any residual disease remaining after 3 cycles can be followed by radiation therapy followed again by chemotherapy to prevent further recurrence.

Mera dost kabhi bhi saraf aur cigrette nahi pita hai. Usko blood cancer kis liye huaa. Aur koi reasons aur solution do plz.
Dear cigarette and sharab are not necessarily the cause of blood cancer. There are many more reasons of getting blood cancer the chief of which is genetic followed by some professional exposures, followed by many more causes like viral infections, exposure to dyes and chemicals, working or getting exposed to radiations and so on.
