I am 24 years old female. I am very much prone to cold and cough. Almost everyday I have cough and cold and severe headache. Also I have Running Nose. Kindly help me how to get rid of this problem.

URTI-Avoid Hotel Food, Avoid Fast food, Hamburgers, Pizza. Do not take any COLD drinks, cold water, ice cream, chilled food from refrigerator. Take warm or hot drinks often – hot tea, hot coffee, hot Soups, hot milk. Avoid Fried/Oily foods like –Samosa, Dosa, Pakora, Papad, Namkeens, Potato Chips, Namkeens.Take soft foods like rice Gurrel (Khichdi), Plain daal, boiled vegetables. Avoid Chillies completely. Take plain warm water, Cocunut water,  Enerzal in warm water. Avoid Cold Milk, Meat Products ,Fried rice and noodles. Avoid Sour fruits like Citrus fruits, grapes  . Avoid heavy meals, eat small frequent meals. Avoid Alcoholic drinks of all kinds  like Beer, Wine, whisky,vodka etc. Warm saline gargles thrice daily. Steam inhalation thrice daily. Rest for 5 days Private Consult with me for proper medicine protocol if the above does not help. Tests needed - CBC, ESR,AEC, SERUM IGE.

Drink lots of water. Avoid Spicy foods. Avoid fatty foods. Avoid oily and fried food. Eat smaller meals. Never remain hungry for long duration. Have 3-4 serving of fruits every day. Never skip a meal. Always have salad with meal. Even if you skip the meals, have some salads. But avoid Salad at nights. Avoid foods that trigger reflux like Chocolate, Coffee,Tea and spicy foods. Reduce Alcohol intake and Smoking. Never lie down after a meal for at least 30 minutes. Reduce weight if obese. Avoid Carbonated drinks. Make sure you don`t have Constipation. Eat plenty of fibre rich foods. Do exercise for about 30-40 minutes a day. Avoids certain foods like peppers (Shimla Mirch, Beans (Raj Mah, cauliflower (Gobi, Raddish (Mooli, Onion (Piyaz, White Chana, Kala Chana etc at dinner. Avoid Meat and Milk. Head of bed elevation and avoidance of meals 2-3 hours before sleep. 8 week course of medicines if necessary Private consult me for further management.

Adding fiber to your diet increases the weight of your stool and speeds its passage through your intestines. Beans , Peas, Broccoli, berries, pears , oatmeal and Sprouts, Slowly begin to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables each day. Try to have at least one apple or guava every day. Choose whole-grain breads and cereals. Exercise most days of the week. Physical activity increases muscle activity in your intestines. Try to fit in exercise most days of the week.Don't ignore the urge to have a bowel movement. Take your time in the bathroom, allowing yourself enough time to have a bowel movement without distractions and without feeling rushed.Drink plenty of water.
